Fifty Shades Shattered
Chapter: Death Wish
Christian
I cannot believe after all the shit he has done with my family he would still be out for revenge. I am losing my temper and calm when Taylor tries calling the house and everyone's cell phones. He can't get through to any of them. I know this has Hyde written all over it.
"Taylor get me home," I snap as I fidget trying to control my frustration. He turns around and we begin to head back in the direction of the sound. I am on the phone calling everyone I know trying to get information about Ana or the team, but it's like there is nothing anyone can tell me.
"We can't head back," he mutters as I follow his line of sight to see the police redirecting the traffic. Taylor pulls over and gets out to discuss things with the officers. He comes back to the vehicle not happy.
"What did they say?" I ask evenly.
"They said that power lines have been cut and the road is closed due to flooding," he says as he turns the vehicle around. "They did say that roads should be open in a few hours, but no guarantees," he mutters.
"We'll head to Grey House then I want the helicopter ready to take me to the house," I snap as I look through the emails once again, but I have no service.
"I have a team heading to the house right now," Taylor says bringing me out of my stumper.
Taylor continues to head in the direction of Grey House. Once he has parked in my space I jump out of the SUV without even waiting for him to open the door for me. I make my way quickly into the elevator and up to my office. I am about ready to lose it when I see something that changes my mind. I am beyond furious now, I don't understand as I make my way forward half stomping my feet.

Ana
I was sitting outside on the deck again with the children watching them float in the kiddie pool. I mean we have the lake and the huge built in pool, but I didn't have the energy to get in the big pool. This way I could hang out with Phoebe as well because I felt she was too little to get into the big pool. Gracie and Teddy were chasing our dog in and out of it.
"Momma I cold," Teddy says as he waddles over to me reaching for me to pick him up. I smile as I see Gail coming out of the backdoor with towels in her hands. I laugh as the dog tries to run past her to get into the house.
"Come here little man," Gail says as she wraps him tightly into a bundle. "Are you still cold?" she asks smiling at him as he tries to wiggle out of the towel.
"Let's go in Grace," I say as I stand up holding onto Phoebe who was fast asleep even though the noise level was pretty loud.
"Mom, do we have to go in," she half mutters as she walks up the steps toward us. Gail hands her a towel and she wraps it around herself.
"Yes," I laugh out as the dog gets past Gail and even Sawyer who was coming out the door.
"Damn dog," he mutters reentering the house to chase after the soggy dog. Grace laughs as I hand her the leash for Sawyer.
"What do you think Gail?" I ask as she finishes up dressing Teddy in some fresh clothes.
"I think that you look pretty good for a woman who has had three children," she replies as I smile. Yes. I had changed into a sundress to take the kids into town. I needed out of the house and I was going to meet up with a publisher to finalize the details on a book I was working on.
"Are you all ready?" Sawyer asks as Grace joins us in the foyer.
"Yes, Gail don't worry about making dinner. I think we might make it a night with the kids," I say as I pick Phoebe up in her carrier, but Sawyer takes her from me. I still didn't like that, but Christian would want me to let him carry her. I mean he is a part of our family, and I trust him.
"Is Collins or Prescott coming with us?" I question as he is fastening Phoebe into the base of the car seat.
"Both, only to keep an eye on things," he says as he gets in the back with me. He has only driven back here a few times when warranted because the others usually take their own vehicle, but with Hyde still on the loose security is tighter and two cars wouldn't cut it.
"Mom, are we going t o meet up with daddy," Teddy asks as he plays on the Ipad. Christian had preloaded it with educational activity games and other things to keep him busy on long drives.
"If our times match up," I say as I see I have no signal. I find that odd because usually we always have signal. I chalk it up to maybe bad weather conditions a storm was coming in. Once we get to Grey House for my meeting I learn that it was cancelled so I head to Christian's office instead.
The kids wanted to wait in the hallway for their dad, so we were waiting in his reception area with Andrea when Christian gets out of the elevator. I look up once I hear the ping of the doors. I can tell two things from his body language; he was pissed and angry right now.
"Christian," I say seeing him so tensed as I reach out to him.
"Don't," he mutters. "Sawyer call Taylor tell him you guys are here, I want him in my office now," he snaps as I notice his expression is very bleak.
"Christian your scaring me," I say as I grip tighter to Phoebe.
"Mr. Grey," I hear Taylor say moments later running into the area. I can see he is tense as well, but for the life of me I don't understand why. "Mrs. Grey," he says as he eyes Christian up.
"My office," Christian snaps grabbing my arm roughly. I want to jerk it out of his grasp, but don't. I think something is terribly wrong as he closes the door he collapses pulling me with him.
"Taylor," I ask as I look to the man who is supposed to keep my husband safe at all times.
"He'll be fine," he says as Sawyer reaches for Phoebe. I let him have her as I cradled Christian as he just holds me.
"I thought I lost you," Christian finally says breaking the silence.
"What?" I ask. He looks up to me as he rearranges himself to sit beside me.
"We were coming into mid town when Taylor stopped the car. There was a billboard with a message to me. I was looking at it when the phone rang. I answered it and Hyde told me he was watching you, my family. I was livid and mad. Ana we have security and it seems like they are always slow when things happen," he snaps half muttering the words to me. I look to where Taylor and Sawyer were only to find them gone.
"Christian, they try their best," I softly say but the look in his eyes stops me from continuing.
"Ana, they aren't supposed to try. They need to do whatever is necessary to keep us safe. Hyde taunted me and then he fired a gun. I was so pissed off that something like this had happened. I was even more ticked off that I couldn't get a hold of you or anyone else," he snaps harshly.
"I had a meeting, but it was cancelled. Gail was coming to the city to get groceries and I brought the kids. I thought we could make an evening with them here," I say softly trying to reassure him I was right here with him.
"I thought something had happened to you. If it had, God Ana I can't tell you how much you mean to me," he says as he kisses me urgently and feverently. I knew he needed this, but I also knew things where not right.

I am kissing my wife. She is alive and that damn fucker Hyde didn't get to her. Yes, I feel better. Yet, it just seems very fishy to me that he went through everything he did, for what. What was his end game?
"What?" I snap as I answer the phone getting a nudge from Ana.
"Oh baby bird," Hyde sneers laughing.
"Is this all a game to you Hyde?" I snap as I am getting to my feet holding my hand out to help Ana up.
"No, I am just starting," he snaps as I hear the sounds of water in the background of the call. He was near water.
"It has to be a game because you didn't hurt them," I say fighting back the threats I want to yell at him.
"No, I might not have gotten them today, but one day I might be lucky. You see your bitch of a wife likes to hang out in your backyard a lot. She was out there before she left," he sneers. How is it possible he could get that close? I mean the water is not my property, so he would have to be in a boat.
"I am going to find you and end this," I snap as I hang up the phone. I throw it across the room as it hits the wall shattering.
"I take it Hyde," Ana says as I pull her to me. I bury my head into her hair inhaling the scent.
"Were you and the kids outside?" I ask as I feel her tense.
"Yes," she says pulling out of my grasp. I see a look of disgust wash over her face. "There was a boat about out in the water in front of the dock. It wasn't close enough to see anyone, but it felt strange to me," she says as I nod my head.
"Hyde is getting braver," I snap as she nods her head.
"Mr. Grey coast guard found a boat docked at the house on the sound," Taylor says as he rushes into the room holding a crying Phoebe out to Ana. She takes her from him.
"Anything else," I demand. He has a smile on his face as he pushes a button on the phone and I hear voices.
"Let me go. I have to finish Baby bird off. I need to destroy Christian Grey and his whore wife," I hear Hyde's voice. Ana reaches out for me as I pull her into my side.
"Put the gun down and let's talk," someone says as something is thrown.
"You don't get it. That bastard has taken everything from me," Hyde yells back. I am clinging to Ana tightly. Taylor is standing off to the side just watching us.
"I can call him and you can talk with him, but you need to put the gun down," the man says once again.
"I already talked to the bastard. I am going to wait here to kill him and his whole family starting with his whore," Hyde sneers as something else is thrown. The conversation is killing me not being able to be there to see what was going on.
"No," I hear Hyde say as we hear several shots being fired and the line going dead.
"What the hell happened?" I snap startling Ana and our daughter.
"I don't know the line is dead," Taylor says as he tries to redial the number, just as the power goes out in the building.
