Chapter 15: We all have plans...
He took a step forward and held his scepter like it was a precious child (not like Loki cared about children), "You think you can stop our plan like the last time? You stand no chance, you're precious army has fallen. Everyone you rely on has either betrayed you or has left you, cowering in fear. We will take over the higher power and when they fall a rightful king will take over as ruler."
"Do you think it is a good idea to tell them our plan?" Maven asked,
"It does not matter you fool, they will be too dead to do anything about it."
"Can I kill them?"
"No, you steer the ship, I will kill them... Or, on second thought." He turned to Seamus, "You, kill them both."
Seamus put a hand on his gun, I felt hopeless, I didn't know what to do. He took a step closer, gun pointed at me, we made eye contact. Suddenly Seamus lowered his gun, "No... I won't kill them, I belong with SHIELD!" He quickly turned and shot Maven in the ass, Maven cried out in pain and fell to the ground,
"You fool, you could have made a great servant!" Loki lunged to attack him,
"Seamus!" I shoved him out of the way as Loki's spear penetrated my internal organs and exited just underneath the ribs. Loki removed his spear and I fell to the ground, the pain too much to describe,
"Jess!" Seamus climbed over to me and pulled me onto his lap. I wasn't quite aware of anything else but him and the pain, "Shit, you'll be okay." His voice was distant, but he was right next to me. I felt a warm hand wrap around mine,
"Sea...mus..."
"Shh, you'll be okay. I'm sorry I betrayed you, I know I should have told you sooner but... I love you."
Great, I'm dying and he tells me this now? He held me to his chest and brushed the hair out of my face. I remembered hearing the sound of thunder and seeing lightning behind Seamus, and the last thing that happened before my last breath was Seamus pressing his lips to mine, and I felt peaceful at last.
