Chapter 16: Bring her home

Tony paced back and forth in the waiting room, he couldn't bear the thought of Jess dying, she was his baby sister, they went through a lot together. As he paced, Seamus came running down the hall, Tony grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall, "This is your fault, how could you let her die?!" He gritted his teeth,

"She pushed me... I didn't know..." Seamus choked out,

"Why did you let her push you out of the way?" Tony loosened his grip,

"I didn't know she was going to do that, what was I supposed to do? Move so that I'd die instead of her?"

"That would have been a better outcome." Tony mumbled,

"Look, I feel shitty for everything I've done to you guys... Especially Jess, she's so wonderful and smart and... Special..." Seamus frowned and walked away.

Tony rolled his eyes in disbelief, "You should take it easy on him." Clint showed up out of nowhere,

Tony jumped, "How do you do that?"

"I know Jess still cares for him, no matt what he's done. He's a good kid, just trying to find his place."

"I think she's be better with you."

"Nah, I'm too old for her, Seamus is just her age."

"Age means nothing to Jess." Tony joked.

Seamus swallowed sadness as he went make amends with his old team. His team sat in the cafeteria eating lunch, "Hey... Guys." They all looked at him, "I know you're probably pissed off at me but I wanted to say I'm sorry for everything I've done. I don't blame you guys if you never want to talk to me again..." His friends looked at him,

"Are you serious?" James asked,

"We can't stay mad at you forever." Sly gave him a fist bump,

"Thanks guys." Seamus smiled and sat next to them.

After a few hours of pacing Tony sat down because Pepper said he might wear a hole in the carpet. He nervously tapped his foot until the doctor came in, "Where is she doctor? Is she fine?!" Tony asked,

"Miss Parker is fine, but she might not make it through the night."

"What do you mean? You're a doctor, you're supposed to make her live!"

"We tried but the injuries were very severe. You can visit her now if you wish." The doctor walked away, Tony went into the room.

The sight of Jess in her condition was enough to make anyone cry. She was pale and her face looked like it had sunken in a bit. She looked like the definition of death, "Oh Jessica..." Tony sat in a chair next to her. He grabbed her hand, it was colder than winter in Michigan (which is pretty cold I might add), "Jessica..." He sighed, "I know you can't hear me... And probably won't be around much longer to hear anyone, but it pains me to see you like this. We've been through a lot, but we were able to get through it. I never thought much about you before, then you helped save my life... Countless times, I've watched you grow from a naïve teenager to a beautiful and smart adult and..." He sighed, "I don't know what I'd do without you."

A few more hours passed and Seamus was now at Jessica's bedside, he grabbed her hand and kissed it, "I love you Jessica... I'm sorry for everything that I've put you through... I was just so confused but now I know what I want and it's to be with you... Even if it does sound corny and girly..." As he continued to talk to the unconscious Jessica, Pika stood outside, she felt bad for Seamus but didn't want to interrupt his time with Jess.

Pika met up with Steve, "What's wrong?" He asked,

"Seamus feels so bad for what has happened, he thinks its his fault that Jess is where she is."

"It's not, Hydra has been messing with everything, no one knows whats going on anymore." He grabbed her hand, "Don't lose faith, I never blamed you for what Hydra did to you." He wrapped her in a hug. She laid her head on his chest, not really sure what to think anymore.

Days passed and Jess wasn't any better than before, her cousin Jennifer was there, "Jenn?" Tony got her attention, she was silent and not her normal self, "Jessica is going to be okay, I know she will."

Jenn wasn't sure what to believe, her and Jess were practically the same person. She crossed her arms and looked out the window, "Jess always wanted to help others..." She slightly laughed, "Guess all it did was get her killed." She walked away.

Seamus let Jennifer see Jessica, after he left and closed the door she took a deep breath, "JESSICA YOU DUMBASS WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOURSELF?!" She shouted at the unconscious body. Jennifer sighed and paced, "You're just like Uncle Mike... Stubborn and always thinking about others..." She stopped pacing and stood by the bed, "But maybe that isn't such a bad thing."

Suddenly she felt a cold hand grab hers, "Bitch... Yell in my ear again... And I'll kick your fucking ass." Jessica said in a weak voice,

"Yes ma'am." Jennifer smiled at her cousin.
