My birthday is Tuesday so I decided I would post something for you guys today as well as on Tuesday. Please let me know how you guys are liking this story. Last chapter only had two reviews on it and it makes me think I'm doing something wrong. If the story has gotten monotonous please let me know because I don't want to lose readers. Thanks!

Chapter 21

Dyson leapt up and anger present on his face. His eyes scanned the area and he opened his mouth to talk, but the noise sounded again. The walls rattled, it felt like a tornado was surrounding them.

"Stay here." Dyson said quickly.

"Bullshit." Kenzi said as she stood up right behind him. He turned quickly and nailed her with a look that caused her to bite down on her tongue for just a few seconds.

"Kenzi stay here." he ordered again.

"Yeah because if something rips this building apart, I want to be on the bottom floor so the entire thing can fall on me."

"The building is not going to fall on you." he turned to walk off.

"Dyson I -" he cut her off when he turned around and grabbed her arms.

"Please stop arguing with me and just stay down here." he said. Kenzi looked up into his eyes, she saw him pleading with her, and she sighed.

"Fine." she reluctantly agreed. He released her arms and ran up the staircase. Kenzi heard the door at the top of the staircase slam and she waited. She paced and waited, she grabbed her shirt and tugged it back on and then paced some more. The walls rattled again and her ears popped, causing a small pounding sensation in her brain. But this time, the rattling didn't stop, it kept going and Kenzi felt like she was standing next to the train tracks when a train roared past. It was loud and Kenzi brought her hands up to cover her ears.

"Screw this." she rushed up the staircase. The door opened right as she reached it and Dyson was suddenly in front of her again.

"I told you to stay put!" he shouted over the noise.

"Well we both know I don't do what I'm told!" she shouted in return. He rolled his eyes and grabbed her arm, hauling her out of the stairway and into the Dal. Kenzi hurried behind him. It was so much louder up here. Hale and Trick both had weapons and were at the door. Dyson ran toward them with Kenzi behind.

"What's going on?!" she shouted.

"Ceros!" Trick shouted.

"Weather fae." Dyson said in her ear.

"Like Storm on X-men?" Kenzi asked.

"Who?" Dyson asked.

"If we make it out of this alive, we've got to educate you." Kenzi said.

"They'll tear the building apart!" Hale yelled.

"We've got to get out of here." Trick said shaking his head.

"SUV is in the back. They're probably right outside. Hale and I will distract them, you two get to the vehicle." Dyson said. Kenzi looked back at him, but she didn't argue, she knew she couldn't argue this.

"Follow me." Trick said. Kenzi grabbed Dyson's forearm and squeezed, subtly telling him to be careful. Their eyes met briefly before she turned after Trick, her hand moved away from his arm in a slow, lingering touch and then she ran after Trick. She followed him behind the bar and into the back where the kegs were kept and they rushed to the loading door. Trick carefully opened the door and they looked around. It was clear that wind was circling the Dal by the way it rushed in at them and whipped Kenzi's hair around her neck in an almost painful fashion. She lifted her hand to shield her eyes and they hurried away from the building. They ran around the corner and raced toward the parking lot. Kenzi jerked the door open and climbed behind the wheel of the SUV quickly. Trick got in next to her and Kenzi breathed out a sigh of relief.

Dyson ran down the hallway as fast as possible. All the wind blowing at them hard was not easy to run in. Hale was close behind him and together they rushed out the front door. A man and woman were standing nearby, both holding their hands up, controlling the intense wind that was swirling around the Dal. Dyson looked back at Hale who sucked in a deep breath and sent a long low tune right into their ears. They stumbled and the wind died away quickly. Hale held the note and Dyson ran toward them. His body collided with the male and they tumbled to the ground. Hale's note ended abruptly and Dyson looked over his shoulder as his friend flew through the air and slammed into the brick wall. Dyson closed his hand around the man's throat, anger pushing through his veins. He wanted to rip his throat out. But as soon as he decided to jerk, he was whipped away from him and sent flying through the air on a gust of wind.

"Stay down wolf, we're not here for you." the girl said as she came walking over. She reached down and helped the male to his feet. Dyson bared his teeth.

"I know who you're here for. And you're not getting her." he said.

"You can't keep her from us. My name is Jocelyn and he is Jonathan. We were sent by Aros, and we will return Leila to him. You can die protecting a human or you can give her to us and end this all." Dyson observed the woman as she spoke. She was tall and very slender, like a model, she had a thick Russian accent and jet black hair. Her eyes were a scorching red color and Dyson could barely see the pupil in them. Dyson growled and he felt his eyes change colors. Fury rolled through him at the thought of them wrapping their unnaturally long fingers around Kenzi's arms and dragging her away.

"Put your hands on her and I'll rip your fingers off, one by one."

"You'll choose a human, over your own kind?"

"I would choose her over and over again."

"So be it wolf." Jonathan said. Jocelyn opened her mouth and screeched, wind whipped around Dyson again, but this time he didn't give it long to pick up, he rushed forward again as Hale eased up off the ground. Dyson saw that Jocelyn was controlling the wind, while Jonathan was more about muscle, but Dyson also knew that Jonathan could do the same thing as she could, if he needed to. Hale whistled and caused Jonathan to drop to his knees while Dyson grabbed Jocelyn. He shoved her into the wall and her red eyes fixed on him as she lashed out, the wind sent him spinning again and he crashed into the ground. Dyson ground his teeth and pushed himself back up.

"Just give her to us. This will be much easier."

"I won't."

"You won't kill me. But Leila will destroy her. She will poison her body and torture her until there is nothing left to torture. Her body will waste away. Just let me put her out of her misery."

"You're right about one thing, I won't kill you. Because I want you to go back to Aros and tell him that if he or his minions get anywhere near her ever again, then I will come after him and I'll torture him."

"So much love for a human. It's disgusting." She spat. Dyson's nails dug into his hand where his fist was balled. Love? Was it love he was feeling? Dyson faltered for a second and Jocelyn came running toward him, Jonathan had broken Hale's hold and he was coming for Dyson as well. Dyson braced himself, but before the Ceros could touch him, a big black SUV slammed into the pair.
