Nice little filler chapter for you guys. I will post again later this week because this one is not really a big chapter. Thank you guys again for being awesome and continuing to read. You are all amazing!

Chapter 27

The drive was longer than Dyson expected. Trick had called ahead to his friend so when they pulled up to the large gates, they opened automatically. The SUV traveled up the driveway and pulled in front of the large home. It wasn't huge and obnoxious, but it was big enough. The group got out of the vehicle and the front door opened. A man around the same age as Lauren stepped out. His black hair had specks of grey in it, and he had dark green eyes. Dyson had never met him before and he wondered who he was.

"Trick." he said shaking his hand. They started talking while Dyson walked around to the back. It was already open and Kenzi was sitting up having been woken up by Bo.

"Where are we?" she asked.

"Trick's friend lives here." Bo answered.

"Cold isn't it?" Kenzi asked as she rubbed her arms. It wasn't cold at all, Dyson's body tensed and he moved forward.

"Let's get you inside." He slid his arms underneath her and lifted her easily. She was one of the lightest people he'd ever lifted besides a child. But it seemed like each time he picked her up, she got lighter and lighter. She needed food and water, soon. Kenzi sagged against him and Dyson climbed the stairs, walking swiftly into the house. The man, whom Dyson still didn't know, led them down the hallway and to an elevator. It was a freight elevator, big enough to fit the whole group. They rode down below the first floor and when the doors opened they were stood in what looked like an emergency room. There were beds, machines, desks, white everywhere, and it stunk of Lysol and bleach. What surprised Dyson even more though was there were nurses walking around and even a few patients lying in a couple of the bays that were shielded by curtains.

"There are private rooms this way." The man turned down a hallway where there were several rooms, they looked like normal hospital rooms except the entrances were sliding glass doors. All of this was very fancy and Dyson was really starting to wonder who this man was.

"You can set up in here. I've assembled everything you asked for. The gowns and blankets are in these drawers." The man continued to talk to Lauren. Dyson tuned them out and laid Kenzi gently on the bed. It looked very comfortable and Dyson was happy that she would not be lying on some horribly uncomfortable hospital bed, he'd slept many of nights on a rough hospital bed. The sliding doors opened and a young male nurse stepped in. He had short red hair and light brown eyes.

"This is Danny, he'll assist you. If you need anything, he can tell you where it is. If you need more nurses, Danny will get them." the man said.

"Thank you Marcus." Trick shook his hand.

"Anytime Trick. There are plenty of spare rooms down here as well as upstairs, the kitchen is stocked with food, if any of you need anything, just come find me."

"Thank you." Bo said. Marcus nodded and left the room.

"I'm going to get everything set up in here. If you guys want to walk around for a while, we should be set up in twenty minutes." Lauren said. Dyson knew that meant they needed to step out so Kenzi could change and Lauren could do what she needed to do. Dyson leaned down and pressed a kiss to Kenzi's forehead.

"I'll be right outside." He said. Kenzi nodded and they all left the room.

"What are we supposed to do?" Bo asked.

"We do what we can do. You give her chi until we figure this out."

"But the question is, how long can Bo give her chi?" Trick asked.

"As long as I need to." Bo said quickly.

"You'd be feeding two people with you chi. It's as if you'd be pregnant. When your mother became pregnant with you she sucked people dry constantly, she was always hungry because she had to feed two lives, not just hers."

"I'm not my mother, I can control myself. I can deal with being hungry as long as Kenzi is alive." Bo said.

"I'll give you whatever you need. You can take from me as much and as often as you need to." Dyson said. It wasn't even a question anymore. He would do anything to make Kenzi better. He wasn't letting her go. He wasn't going to lose her. He'd lost too many people, let go of so much happiness so others could benefit. But not anymore, he wasn't letting go of his happiness for anyone else. Kenzi made him happy, she made him feel things he hadn't felt in a very long time. He wanted to be with her, he wanted a relationship with her, and some feud that was older than Trick was not about to take her away from him.

"Me too, you can suck my chi until I'm about to pass out." Tamsin waved her hand.

"Ditto." Hale said. All eyes turned to Trick.

"Trick?" Bo asked.

"Of course you can take from me. None of you have sticky fingers like Kenzi, who is going to steal things and keep me company during closing time if she doesn't make it?" Trick smiled. They all chuckled a little.

"We need to put our heads together here and figure out what to do." Hale said.

"Well what do we know from Leila?" Bo asked.

"She can switch bodies when her host is nearly dead, is there a way we can help Kenzi after she's out?" Tamsin asked.

"My best guess would be no. The fact that Leila has so much energy is probably what Kenzi's body feeds off of. When her body is about to give in, Leila leaves, taking what little life Kenzi has left. Which means after Leila's gone, Kenzi's body is dead. You heard Leila, she sucks them dry and doesn't leave anything left." Hale said.

"But Leila had a body to begin with, right?" Tamsin asked.

"Yeah, she said when he was about to kill her, she moved out." Dyson answered.

"Maybe she can't figure out how to get out of other bodies until they are dead because that is when she is absolutely forced out, she doesn't have a choice, she has to grab the nearest body and go into it."

"She said she's been trying to figure out how to get out for years. What are you getting at Tamsin?" Hale asked.

"She never said whether or not Aros actually killed her, she said he got close and she left. What if she had a choice, what if her own body was here? Do you think her spirit, soul, whatever it is that moves would choose to go to its own body rather than continue drifting?" Tamsin asked.

"Maybe, I mean, it's a good theory, but this was a long long time ago. Even if Aros didn't kill her, there is no telling where her body is now, not to mention how decomposed it would be by now." Hale said.

"Ok but it's worth a shot right? Bo asked. Hale sighed and shrugged and Trick just frowned. No one really knew a good solution, but they had to try something.

"What are you thinking?" Trick asked Dyson.

"I think we need to talk to Leila again."
