The Love Square

Chapter 5

Taylor's POV

I've never been to a guy club before, so I was quite nervous. Sonic, Shadow, Silver and some other friends of theirs were walking down the street towards the club. Knuckles and I followed at the back. Knuckles decided to come with me, which I'm very shocked about. Is he gay or something too? It would be an awkward conversation if I asked so I just accepted the fact that he's coming with me, just to keep me company.

Sonic started running towards the entrance of the club. I suddenly realised we were minors, so I assume we had to try and look mature. I guess this wasn't the case with Sonic. I could hear Shadow growling at Sonic to come back. Few seconds later all of us are waiting to go inside. I could hear the bass of the music from outside and people chatting. I was still nervous. Knuckles put a hand on my shoulder.

"What's wrong? You don't have to go inside if you don't want to. No-one will notice that we left." Knuckles suggested. I shook my head and gave a faint smile.

"Don't worry. I'm just nervous, that's all." I assured him, he took his hand off my shoulder.

"Come on! Please! You let me in last week!" Sonic pleaded to the bouncer.

"No minors allowed. I got in trouble last time." The bouncer mumbled at the young teen. Sonic stomped his foot.

"I'll pay you." He pleaded again. The bouncer looked interested.

"How much?" Sonic started to search his pockets.

"Errrr…." Shadow handed the bouncer $30.

"Is that enough?" Shadow asked him. The bouncer took the money and let us through; Sonic kissed Shadow on the cheek.

"Thank you!" Shadow rolled his eyes.

"Whatever." He muttered at his lively boyfriend. He is literally insane.

We entered the club and the strobe lights were blinding me already. The club music was so loud I couldn't even hear what Knuckles was saying and he was standing right next to me. I could, however hear Sonic cheering and dragging Shadow and Silver away from us; into the crowded club. The other guys started to dance with random men. Is this what clubs are like? You just go off with random strangers?

"Shall we just go to the bar?" Knuckles asked, really loudly. I nodded and we both headed to the bar. It was a little bit quieter than on the dance floor so I was able to hear Knuckles better. Knuckles managed to get us some drinks. God knows how, since we're minors. We sat down at a nearby table.

"Thanks for coming with me." I said to him. Knuckles smiled.

"No problem, I couldn't leave you getting dragged around by Sonic. That would just piss me off." I held the drink near my mouth. The smell of alcohol was overwhelming so I held it away.

"What's wrong, do you not like it?" Knuckles asked.

"No, it has a really strong smell." He frowned.

"That's just normal alcohol. The bartender hasn't drugged it, has he?"

"No. It's just me. I've never had alcohol before."

"It's not that bad, you'll get used it. I don't want you drink it if you don't want to…." It's nice that he cares, but I'm just being a baby. I took a gulp out of the cup. It had a really strong taste but it was bearable (AN: By the way guys, I fucking hate alcohol.)

Once I finished the drink, I got up.

"Where are you going?" Knuckles asked.

"To get another one." I got another drink and continued to drink away. I felt that I was getting more and more relaxed and I actually started to like the taste. I felt more grown up than being a stupid kid. I looked at Knuckles, who was just staring ahead. I turned around to see a couple making out near us. I looked back at him and smirked.

"Are you watching those two?" I teased. He looked at me and frowned.

"No! Why would I?"

"Are you gay?" I put my hands over my mouth. It just slipped out. But it seemed that Knuckles didn't hear what I said.

"What did you say?" He asked and leaned closer towards me. I shook my head and continued to drink.

"Nothing! Don't worry about it." I caught sight of Silver who was heading towards us.

"Hi, Silver." I moved to the side of my seat, offering some of my space to him. Silver smiled and sat next to me.

"God, Taylor! Your breath stinks of alcohol." Silver coughed, pulling a face.

"I only drank a few." I assured. It wasn't that bad, was it?

"No, I'm joking." He giggled and looked at Knuckles shyly.

"Haven't spoken to you in a while. How are you?" Knuckles asked him.

"I'm fine, thanks." Silver answered in a normal voice, which was too quiet here.

"So, how did it go with your mom yesterday?" I asked Silver. He smiled.

"It went great. She says she's going to break up with him. And I will be able to move back in. She cried when she first saw me. It was quite emotional. But I'm glad I went to see her. Thank you for your encouragement." He replied.

"Your welcome." I said, taking another sip.

The three of us talked for another hour or so until Sonic and Shadow came over. Sonic looked so drunk, that Shadow had to support him.

"We're going home right now! This idiot thought it would be a great idea to take a drink from a stranger; it was heavily drugged." Shadow hissed. Sonic looked like he was going to throw up.

"Can I…just sit down for a second?" Sonic asked. Shadow gently put Sonic on a nearby seat. He bowed his head down to his knees. Silver started to rub his back.

"What a fool." Knuckles murmured. Just then Shadow charged over to a stranger and punched him, square in the face.

"You stay the fuck away from my boyfriend, you dirty bastard!" Shadow barked. Knuckles ran over to hold him back. "You motherfucker!" Knuckles dragged Shadow away backed to where we sat.

"Come on, let's get out of here." Knuckles told everyone. For the first time ever, he said to Sonic gently. "Are you ready to go? Will you be ok?" Sonic nodded and grabbed Knuckles' shoulder.

"Please hold me." He asked. I think Sonic thought that Knuckles was Shadow. But the red echidna didn't mind as he helped Sonic up. I got up from my seat too. And we started to walk out of the crazy atmosphere. The second we stepped outside the club, Sonic collapsed.

"Sonic!" Shadow quickly picked Sonic up before he hit the ground. The bouncer rushed up to us.

"Is he ok?" He asked, looking very concerned for his health.

"He was drugged by some bastard in that club of yours." Shadow spat as he tried to hold Sonic up.

"I can hire a taxi to drive you back." The bouncer offered.

"Will be fine, all of us will get in trouble if we do anyway. We have to keep this incident low key." Silver explained to him. The bouncer nodded and stepped back.

"Please be safe on the way back." He told us.

"We will, thank you for your concern." Silver replied. Shadow picked Sonic up bridal style, as he was unconscious.

"Let's get out of here." Shadow ordered and started to head back to the school.

The walk back was quiet. Shadow was whispering to Sonic telling him that they were nearly there. I could see that Shadow really loved Sonic more than he loved Silver or anyone else. Anyone could see that Shadow and Sonic were the main lovers in the 'tri-couple'. I looked at Silver, who was walking behind them. He deserves his own man, someone that will love just him and not also someone else. I know he only joined the threesome because of his crush on Sonic. I wish Silver would see that too. I'm sure he doesn't really care about that though.

"What are you thinking about?" Knuckles asked me.

"Oh, nothing." I dismissed.

"You're thinking about them three, aren't you?"

"I just feel sad for Silver sometimes. You can clearly see that Sonic and Shadow are in love with each other and Silver only gets involved in the sex. Silver deserves someone better." I looked at Knuckles. He just shrugged his shoulders.

"It's his choice, I guess. If he wants to do this, then leave him be."
"But what if he isn't happy?"

"Why don't you ask him? He seems to feel comfortable around you."

"You know what? I will."

We arrived at the school soon after our little chat. And parted ways, I had to follow the tri-couple back to our dorm. Silver quickly opened the door for Shadow and Sonic to get through. Shadow walked into Sonic's bedroom and closed the door.

"Aren't you going in there as well?" I asked Silver who was about to head into his own room.

"No. Leave them to be. Night." He simply said before walking into his bedroom.

Shadow's head popped out of the door.

"He's woken up. Could you get me a bottle of water?" He asked.

"Sure."

The next morning, Sonic was still very ill. Thank god it was Sunday, not Monday. I knocked on his bedroom door with some breakfast for him. I've become his little maid all of a sudden. I didn't mind so much as he was ill.

"Come in. You don't have to knock." Shadow hissed in frustration. I walked in. Shadow was sitting on the bed as Sonic was sleeping. I set the breakfast down somewhere.

"How long have you been here?" I asked Shadow who was looking at his phone.

"Since I put him in bed last night." He replied, not looking up.

"Aren't you tired?"

"I slept a bit." He smirked. "Why do you care so much?" I frowned.

"Because I don't want someone else collapsing. I've seen enough!" I snapped. "I'm being the maid around here!"

"Then don't be. No one was forcing you. I'll do it myself."

"No! I'm only doing it for him."

"Good. Now, could you bring me another bottle of water for him when he wakes up?" I growled at him and stormed out. I should of let him do it. I bet he's going to drink it instead.

A few hours later, Sonic woke up. He asked for me, which I was shocked about. I walked into his room. He was still lying in bed, but he looked much better than he did last night.

"You ok?" I asked. He nodded slowly. "What did you want me for? You should be resting."

"I just wanted to thank you for being our maid. I appreciate it." I blushed.

"It's Shadow you should thanking. He stayed here all night with you."

"I already have. I wanted to thank you as well." He smiled at me. "Just accept the thanks, cutie." I blushed even more and turned around to face the door.

"Ok, well I'll leave you to it." I told him as I walked to the door. God, he's so embarrassing.

"See ya." I heard him say quietly and chuckle. I left his room and closed the door. I noticed that Silver was standing next to it.

"Silver, what are you doing?"

"I was waiting for you to leave, so I can talk to him." He replied, smiling.

"You can go in now."

"Thanks." He walked into the room and closed the door. I was so tempted to listen in the conversation, but I decided to visit Knuckles. I knocked on his dormitory door. He answered the door, topless. He was surprised to see me.

"Hey." I greeted awkwardly, trying my hardest not to stare at his well-built abs.

"Hi, let me just put something on." He informed me and walked back into his dorm. "Come in." He called out. I walked into his dorm. It was much smaller than mine. It was a simple living room with two doors leading into a bedroom and another into the bathroom, I assume. It felt much cosier in here. I saw Knuckles with a top on now. He smiled at me.

"I'm surprised you come to visit. I thought you would be Sonic's little maid."

"I have. I've had enough; had to get out." I replied. He chuckled.

"How is he?"

"He's fine now. Just lying in bed. I must say; I'm surprised you even care." He frowned.

"I know I hate his guts. But I'm not going to let him suffer like that." I shrugged.

"Ok, sorry for assuming." He sat on the sofa and gave a big sigh.

"Have you done the homework?" He asked looking up at me.

"Yeah."

"That's good. Do you want to go out?" My heart stopped. Was he asking me on a date? "Go outside, I mean." He corrected himself, noticing the horror on my face.

"O-Ok." I stuttered. He chuckled slightly. I wasn't sure if he was hurt or not. "Where do you want to go?" He stood up and gently took my arm.

"It's a surprise, come on." He said, dragging me out of his dorm. Where was he taking me, I wonder?

So that's the chapter done. I hope it wasn't too short. Again, thank you for waiting. In September, it's my birthday and *crossfingers* I will hopefully get a new laptop. This means I can update quicker and write more stories. Because at the moment, you will not believe the bullshit I have to go through to update a story. It's ridiculous!
