Harry's POV

Hermione seemed so fragile at times. Malfoy and I watched her regularly. Hermione and I even started sitting at the snake's table with him, just to keep her away from Ginny. I noticed it from across the room, but Ginny's appearance seemed to be changing. Her hair lost it's shine, her skin looked pale, she had heavy bags under her eyes, and her robes didn't fit as well. It's like everything that had happened through all seven years of school had hit her all at once. I couldn't worry about that. Right now, Hermione was more important. I will talk to Ginny later.

"Harry..." I heard Ginny's voice from behind me.

"I'm busy Gin." I responded, and continued walking.

"I'm sorry." Her whispered voice stopped me and I turned to look back at her. "I-I never should have acted the way I had...Toward you, Malfoy, or Hermione. Most of all Hermione. I...I understand now why she couldn't be near us. None of us even realized that Ron would respond that way. Mum has practically thrown all of his things out to rot at the gate. She won't even look at them." Ginny's eyes shone with sincerity. "Hermione...being a Fairy and all...I should have listened to you and backed off. I didn't mean for any of this to get out of hand, and I didn't want to lose you..."

"That's the problem Ginny." I muttered. "You harassed Hermione, you didn't take anything I said into consideration. You should have known when I started spending time with her that I would have known her reasoning about it all. And you should have trusted me."

"I wasn't thinking Harry! And how could I have? You wouldn't even look at me, you ran when you knew I was coming and spending every waking moment thinking about her, if not with her all together. What was I supposed to do?"

"Ginny...You were supposed to back off and let me deal with it like I had been trying to tell you to do for weeks."

"What can I do now? I don't want to lose you... I'm sure that I've lost Hermione for good...but...I don't want to lose you too." Ginny had begun to cry. It was strange to see her this way. She was always so strong, so held together. She never showed her tears. Even when her brother had died, she never showed her tears. She stood tall and held on tightly to the others. Channeling all of her fear and sadness into the hexes that she threw. But this Ginny? I had never seen her before. She was new.

"I don't know what you can do Ginny. But talking to Hermione and getting her side of everything thats gone on this past year would be a good start. Malfoy and I will have to be there, she isn't allowed alone with anyone right now."

"Says who?" Ginny grumbled.

"Says me." I admonished. "I suggest that you take this olive branch while you have it Genevra. You won't have it for long." With that I turned to walk away again. "I'll send you an owl to let you know when you can talk to hre, and where. If you change your mind, let me know so I don't waste my time." And with that, I just kept walking. I didn't wait around for her response, my heart was breaking too. But for Hermione's safety, and sanity, this is what was needed. Ginny could take this chance, or she can just walk away. I won't judge her any more harshly than I already have.

"I don't see why the female weasel should be allowed anywhere near Hermione!" Malfoy snarled. As I expected.

"This is Hermione's decision, not yours." I deadpanned. I didn't want to give Malfoy the satisfaction of getting angry. This wasn't for me, this wasn't for him, it was for Hermione and Ginny.

"Harry..." Hermione whispered from behind Malfoy. "What are you trying to accomplish."

"To be honest Hermione? I don't know." I moved around beside Malfoy to look her in the eye. "The way Ginny has been lately? I think she needs this. But not only that, I think you need it too."

"Why the hell would Hermione need to go anywhere near the Weasels?" Malfoy snarled.

"Shut it ferret!" I hissed. "This isn't your place. This is Hermione's decision. It is her call. If she is considering it, then leave her be. I will only stop talking to her about it when she denies the idea straight out." Malfoy just glared, but knelt beside Hermion and held her hand. Such a soft gesture that I never would have expected from him of all people.

"I..I will meet her...However, I will meet her openly. I don't want to cause a scene, but I don't want things to get out of hand either. So if we can keep it in an open place then...Maybe we can keep things civil...just maybe." Hermione reasoned.

"Keeping things civil with a redhead, you are delusional." Malfoy muttered. But Hermione luckily did not hear him.

"Where do you want to meet her? And when? I told her I'd send details. And that all of it is your call."

"Great hall. At dinner. Tonight." Hermione stood and left to her room. I wasn't expecting her to be ready so soon to see Ginny. But I would do everything in my power to make things right between them. Even if they still can not be near each other because of Hermione and what she is, at least I would have given them this chance at closure.

"I guess I'll send that message then." I stood to leave.

"Potter...I hope you know what you are doing by putting them together like this." Malfoy said calmly.

"I do to." And with that, I left the room.
