Chapter 6: Wedding Bells

The blessed day came before everyone knew it. Everyone was gathered out in the garden. Ty Lee, Suki and Toph had graciously volunteered to Mai's bridesmaids and Zuko, being her brother, volunteered to be Azula's best man.
Azula and her entourage stood at the altar by the koi pond, waiting for Mai and her family to emerge.
Finally, the music swelled and everyone rose from their seats. The bride and her family emerged.
Azula was all smiles when Mai reached the altar. She placed her hands in Mai's as the Fire Sage said a few words.
Before they both knew it, it had come to the point in the ceremony in which they would exchange vows.
"Princess Azula, daughter of Lord Ozai & Lady Ursa, sister of Fire Lord Zuko, I, Lady Mai Desako, daughter of Lord Lang Chao and Lady Hitomi, take you as my wife." she said grandly.
Then she leaned in close to Azula's ear and whispered. "Everything I have is yours, I love you so much."
Azula then said her part. "Lady Mai Desako, daughter of Lord Lang Chao and Lady Hitomi, I, Princess Azula, daughter of Lord Ozai & Lady Ursa, sister of Fire Lord Zuko take you as my beloved wife forever." Azula said.
The Fire Sage then said, " Then by Agni, I now pronounce you wife & wife. You may kiss the bride!"
Azula lifted the veil from Mai's face and kissed her passionately in front of a cheering crowd.
Everyone threw panda lilies at the newlyweds as they made their way down the aisle.
Soon they were in the ballroom for the reception. Azula, her wife and her friends and family sat at the head table. Zuko was giving a particularly boring speech about him and Azula growing up. Mai fell asleep on Azula's shoulder.
Finally the speech was over, and the party began.
