I am so sorry that it has taken so long to update. I swear this chapter was done weeks ago but then my computer decided to crap out on me, then if that wasn't bad enough once the laptop got fixed all my files had been wiped. I just couldn't seem to catch a damn break. You should be getting more updates from me in a faster manner. I have been able to work out my schedule so that I now have more free time on my hands so hopefully I can get a chapter out every 2-3 weeks. Better then having to wait month's right? I hope that you are all doing well. I really hope that you guys have stuck around for this story. Regardless I do intend to finish it. I refuse to be a quitter and I have kind of already started the idea process for a new story. I feel this story is coming to an end not too soon though. I am thinking about 5-6 more chapters and an epilogue and it should be all done. I really hope that you all like this chapter and that you are still enjoying this story. I love you all for the support. Without further ado here is Chapter 15.
The following Monday after Clare and Eli found out that they were having a baby girl they found themselves on a plane to Boston to visit the newest addition to the Martin family. When there plane landed and they got their luggage they were greeted by Helen and Glen Martin, Clare had no idea that her parents were going to be in town let alone picking up the two of them from the airport.
"Mom what are you doing here?" Clare asked her mom as she went up to hug her.
"Well we figured since Eli and you were coming down here to see the baby that we would come up for a visit as well so that we could see you guys and the baby to. I must tell you Clare Bear you are one amazingly beautiful pregnant woman" Helen gushed
"Aww thank you mom"
Just as Clare finished hugging her mom Eli came up to the group luggage in hand.
"What a pleasant surprise to see you Mr. & Mrs. Martin" Eli said holding his hand out to shake their hands.
"Put that hand away Eli. You are family and family hugs," Helen said bringing Eli into a warm embrace
"Well okay then hugging it is" Eli laughed
"Eli you get even more handsome every time I see you. Clare you sure did pick a good one to have a baby with. That kid of yours will be gorgeous." Helen gushed
"Speaking of the baby…we had sent you an announcement in the mail but since you are here we will just tell you in person. Mom, Glen the baby is a girl. You guys are going to have a grand daughter" Clare beamed
Helen burst into tears. She was filled with so much happiness that she could not contain it all.
"A grandson and grand daughter all in one year. This is our first grand daughter, your sister has her 2 boys and Jake now has his and my baby girl is having her own little girl. I'd just like to point out that Helen is a wonderful name" Helen laughed
The four of them laughed as they walked out of the airport and to the rental car. Helen and Glen dropped Eli and Clare off at there hotel and told them they would come back and pick them up in a few hours to take them to over to Jake and Katie's house. Eli and Clare checked in and got settled into their room. Clare laid herself on the bed closing her eyes; she was just feeling so happy and content. There was so much love in her life at the moment she couldn't contain her happiness. Eli walked out of the bathroom and saw Clare lying on the bed with a huge smile on her face; he couldn't help the smile that he now found on his face at the site of his very happy, pregnant beautiful girlfriend. He walked over to the bed and decided to lie down besides her placing his hand on her belly.
"You know Clare I do not think that I have ever been this happy in my entire life"
"What? Not even when you finally got to take my virginity?" Clare asked with a giggle
"You know that will always be one of the greatest experiences of my life but this right here, this is pure happiness for me. I've got the love of my life back in my life and she is carrying our little girl, I do not think it can get any better then that. Oh wait that's a lie"
"What do you mean that it's a lie?"
"The only thing that would make it that much more amazing is if you weren't my girlfriend but my wife"
"You know what Eli I think one day you might just get your wish"
"REALLY?"
"Yeah if you ask me right and buy me the most amazing diamond ring you can find, then we can begin negotiations" Clare laughed
"Well I think that can most definitely be arranged my love"
"Yeah, yeah I'll believe it when I see it"
"God I Love You Clare Diana Edwards"
"Well I Love you too Eli Goldsworthy"
When Eli and Clare walked into Jake and Katie's home later that night they were greeted by the happy couple as well as Maya and her fiancé Miles Hollingsworth.
"OMG sis your so fat" Jake laughed
"Hey you don't say shit like that to a pregnant woman you Neanderthal" Katie said smacking Jake in the head
"Clare honey you look beautiful, when I was that far along I looked like a whale"
"You did not Katie and you know it, now where is that nephew of mine. I need to spoil him rotten and plant tons of kisses on him" Clare said while grinning from ear to ear
"Hey Eli you look like one happy dude. You look almost like you did that time we got stoned…"
"JAKE!" Katie, Clare and Eli all screamed at the same time
"What? I was just trying to talk about the good ole days" Jake said laughing
"Well anyways I am extremely happy Jake. I'm with the love of my life and she is carrying my daughter what is there not to be happy about"
"OMG a GIRL" Katie and Maya both screamed
"Yeah it's a girl we sent out announcements but I am guessing yours haven't come in yet"
"Maya you look beautiful as always, how are the wedding plans coming along?" Clare asked Maya
"They are going great luckily we pushed the wedding date back so we can have more time to plan and since you are here there is something that I wanted to ask you. I was wondering if you would be one of my bridesmaids Clare"
"Oh my god of course I will be. You know how much I love you My it would be an honor for me"
After the group caught up they all broke off the men going to the den and the women going up into the nursery. In the den Eli got to know Maya's fiancé Miles a lot better. He thought he was a cool dude. About an hour later Maya and Miles headed out cause they had dinner plans with some friends. That left Eli and Jake alone to talk.
"So how is fatherhood? Any advice for me?" Eli asked
"Sleep when the baby sleeps and help Clare out as much as you possibly can. She is going to need you so much and fatherhood is great. I cannot tell you how beautiful it was to see Katie bringing our child into this world. I swear I fell in love with her even more and looking at my son is just something I cannot even describe. I have never believed in love at first sight but that is how it was with him, I saw him and I instantly loved him. It was so crazy."
"I honestly can't wait. I just envision this beautiful little girl with auburn hair and gorgeous blue eyes like her mom. I also think I need to invest in a gun to keep the boys away" Eli laughed
"I lucked out with a boy only thing I have to worry about is him potentially knocking someone up, but I know one day if we do have a girl I'm screwed. So how are things with you and Clare going?"
"They are going great. I love her man, I mean you know I always have but it is like so much more now. I asked Randall and Glenn for they're blessing to ask Clare to marry me"
"You serious dude that is awesome news"
"Yeah they both gave there blessings I even already have the ring I have just been waiting for the right time, I didn't feel like she was quite ready for that step yet but today we had a talk and well now I know she is ready I just need to figure out the perfect plan to ask her"
"That is great news man, I am truly happy for the two of you. I'll finally have the brother I always wanted" Jake laughed and brought Eli into a man hug
"Aww well isn't this just adorable. I wish I had my camera on me" Katie sighed
"Where is Clare?" Eli asked
"Upstairs with the baby. I came down to warm a bottle for the baby. You can go up if you'd like. I'll be down here for a little while"
With that Eli nodded to the two of them and headed upstairs. Eli walked into the nursery to see Clare sitting in the rocking chair with the baby in her arms. It was the most beautiful sight in the world to Eli. All he could think about was how he couldn't wait to see her doing that same thing to their child.
"Well I see I now have competition with another guy over who has your heart" Eli chuckled
"Don't worry my love I was sure to save a little spot just for you" Clare said with a smirk on her face
"Isn't he so handsome? He looks just like Jake but he has Katie's gorgeous eye's" Clare cooed
"Well I don't know about Jake being handsome and all but that is definitely one good looking little guy, he has future heartbreaker written all over him"
"Aww his Auntie Clare would never allow him to grow up into a heartbreaker, he shall be a perfect gentleman….wont you Jonathan?"
"Your damn right no son of mine will be going around breaking girls hearts" Katie said as she walked in with Jonathans bottle
"Hey Eli would you like to feed Jon so you can get the hang of it before little princess Goldsworthy joins the real world?" Jake asked
"I would love to"
Clare got up and handed the baby over to Eli. It took him a few minutes to get feeding the baby right but once he got used to it, it was a synch. It melted Clare's heart to see Eli with the baby in his arms. She couldn't wait to see him holding their little girl in his arms. It would only be a few more months and they would get to meet her, the thought of that made Clare so excited. After Eli finished feeding the baby Jake taught him how to properly burp a baby. Seeing this made both Clare and Katie laugh, it was something neither woman thought that they would ever be witnessing. After Jon was fed, burped and changed he was put down to sleep. Katie and Clare went into the master bedroom so that Katie could give Clare some of her maternity clothes. Eli and Jake went into the den to shoot the shit and give the girls some alone time.
"You know Jake I really love this house you have here it is amazing" Eli told Jake
"I love it too. If it wasn't for that girl of yours we'd be living in a crappy 2 bedroom apartment"
"What do you mean?"
"Clare didn't tell you? She is the one who bought this house for us. I had just put all my money into starting up my business when we found out that Katie was pregnant. So our choices were either stop the process on the business & take a loss or to stay where we were and just make due till the company turned over a profit to buy a house. Clare said she wouldn't have that, that she wouldn't have her nephew being cramped in a small apartment. I told her I couldn't let her do it cause I could never possibly pay her back and she said if I just promised that whenever she needed work done on her home for free we would be even. She said that she has more money then she would ever be able to spend on her own and it makes her happy to do this for her family. My sister is one special lady and honestly Katie and I love her so much and we really owe her so much. She deserves the world. I hope that you can give her that Eli."
"I want to lay the world at her feet Jake. I love her and our daughter more than anything in this world. She is my forever"
"Good cause if you hurt her I will kill you" Jake laughed
"I would never hurt her"
An hour later Eli and Clare found themselves back in there hotel room talking about the amazing day they had spending with the family. Their trip seemed to go by in the blink of an eye. They spent all there time with Jake, Katie and the baby as well as finding some time to spend with Helen and Glen. It was a great trip that really brought Eli and Clare together and proved to each of them once in for all that they are family, that they just fit so well in each others lives and that what they are doing and what they have created it is a forever sort of love. Once their trip was over and they were back in New York both of them knew that it was time to discuss how things were going to be once the baby came. Where were they going to live and how it was all going to work and for the first time since running into Clare Eli was not afraid to have a conversation with her. He knew she loved him and that he loves her and that they both love their daughter. He knew in his heart they needed to start their Happily Ever After.

The next chapter we will see Eli working on how to purpose with his Best Bud Adam and we will see Clare back at work and having her baby shower thrown by her bff Alli there will also be a surprise guest Clare will run into…anyone care to guess? I bet you can't LOL. Also I am still looking for suggestions on baby Goldsworthy's name. Please review. Love you guys.
