So I have to say that I am so sorry for being away for so long. I kind of lost a lot of my inspiration for writing this story. I have not watched any of the new season but I have been keeping tabs on what is going on. I am hoping that both Eli and Clare get their heads out of their ass and that things will work out for them. Well here is an extra long chapter to make up for my absence. I hope that you are all still out there reading this and enjoying it. Love you all!
*5 Weeks Later*
The screeching sound of an alarm brought Clare out of her slumber. She groaned and cursed at the clock sitting atop her bedside table. As Clare got closer to her due date she was finding it harder to sleep. She constantly had to get up to pee and then there was her swollen belly getting in the way, making it difficult for her to find a comfortable position to sleep in. Clare felt Eli stir in his sleep beside her and she just stared at him for a moment. She got lost in her thoughts of how happy she was and how she never imagined this was how her life would turn out. Eli must have woken up while Clare was lost in her own little world cause the next thing she knew was she heard his him chuckle and say
"You like what you see Babe?"
"Ugh you are such an ego maniac. I just got lost in thought that's all. Don't go thinking your rugged good looks put me in a trance"
"Rugged good looks huh? Don't worry baby I know you think I'm gorgeous and you just cant seem to keep your eyes off me"
Clare laughed and threw a pillow at Eli's head. Eli still hadn't officially moved in yet, he was still trying to sell his brownstone and on nights when he got really busy at the theater he would just crash there but for the most part a lot of his things were at the condo and he was there about 90% of the time. They were becoming more and more like the family they had always been destined to be.
"Are you ready for today my love? It is going to be a very long day with a lot to do but I want you to promise me that you aren't going to take on too much Clare, I need you and baby girl healthy and stress free. If there is anything big that needs to be done then please ask me, Jake or Adam to do it for you."
"I promise you that I will not over do it today. I am so excited. We get the chance to see all of our family and friends, as well as getting to celebrate this little one" Clare said rubbing her belly affectionately.
"Speaking of this little one we still need to pick out a name. Did you like any of the names on the list that I gave you Eli?"
"Actually I did and I narrowed it down to three names from the list"
"Which names have you narrowed it down too?"
"Harper, Ember and Elise"
"I love them. So how are we going to choose from those 3?"
"Well I was thinking we could just wait to see when she comes out which of those names fits her best. And also which sounds best with Goldsworthy"
"Babe all the names go beautifully with Goldsworthy. And it is so nice to finally have some names to give people when they ask about baby names. Oh wow I think she is excited about her name options" Clare said grabbing Eli's hand and placing it over her belly where her baby girl was now doing summersaults
"Wow she is really excited. What do you say to you staying in bed while I make us some breakfast then we can take a shower and get ready together."
"Mmm. I love the sound of that Baby." Clare said kissing Eli passionately
"Have I told you I love you lately?"
"It's possible but I could hear you say it at least 5,000 times a day so why don't you get on that" Clare said with a smile on her face
"I love you" Eli said with a chuckle
"I love you too and I love our little family"
"Our Family" Eli whispered more to himself then to Clare "Stay here baby while I get us some food"
Eli walked out of there room and into the kitchen so he could make him and Clare breakfast. While he was in the kitchen an idea came to him, he pulled out his phone and made a very important phone call.
"What up bro you ready for today? Imogen, Alli, Becky, Drew and I have been working our Asses off all morning to get this thing together"
"Yeah bro I am ready for today but I have a huge favor to ask of you. There has been a change of plans…."
After Eli made his plans with Adam he got back to cooking their breakfast. Once he finished there breakfast he took it to the room and he and Clare ate a lovely meal in bed. After they were done Clare took the dishes to the kitchen and loaded them into the dishwasher. After that the two of them jumped into the shower and proceeded to wash each other, of course with Eli and Clare it turned into something much more than just a shower, it started with washing each other, then sweet caresses turned into heated kisses which led to Clare and Eli having the most amazing shower experience of there life, when they were done they had to re-wash themselves. Once they were out of the shower they got themselves ready for there baby shower where they will get to see all the people they love and celebrate there little girl.
"Babe do you think the dress looks okay?" Clare asked. She was wearing a vintage rose-colored dress. It was short and lace with long sleeves. Clare wasn't quite looking all that pregnant to Eli. Even thought she was 7 and a half months pregnant other then her baby bump if you saw her from behind you wouldn't even know she was pregnant.
"Wow Clare. You look…wow. You have rendered me speechless" Eli said coming up to Clare and taking her face in his hands. "Babe you look stunning. You are the most beautiful woman in the world. I love you Clare. So much"
Clare finished getting ready putting very minimal make-up on and putting her hair up in a beautiful up-do with a few loose tendrils framing her face. Eli was looking handsome in black dress pants, a black button up with a pink tie that matched Clare's dress. Once they were all done getting ready they went downstairs caught a cab and headed to the venue.
The first person Clare saw when she walked into the venue was Alli. Alli came running as fast as her heels would allow her too and she took her into a huge bear hug.
"Oh Clare you look absolutely beautiful" Alli said with tears in her eyes.
"Aww Alli what's with the tears?" Clare asked
"I'm sorry its just god Clare you have been through so much and you are now getting everything you have ever deserved. Your getting your happily ever after. I am so happy for you and Eli. You both deserve this and I cannot wait to meet little baby girl Goldsworthy. By the way is my niece ever going to have a name?"
"It is funny that you should mention that. The other day Eli gave me a huge list of names and today I narrowed it down to 3 names. So once she is born we will see which one just seems to fit her better," Clare said with a smile
"And what are these names that will possibly be my niece's name?"
"Harper, Ember and Elise. What do you think?"
"Oh Clare they are so beautiful. I think any of them would fit her so well. I wonder who she is going to look like"
"Oh I am hoping she has a little of both of us."
"Oh she will. She will be gorgeous and she will be so very much loved"
"She sure will be" a voice said from behind Clare. Clare spun around to see a grinning Adam staring at her.
"Hey Adam. I really have to thank you and Alli for putting all of this together for us. We do truly have the most amazing friends. This little girl is going to be so lucky to have the two of you as god parents"
"Nah it is us who are going to be the lucky one's to have her as our god daughter" Adam said "And doing this is nothing. We love you and Eli, we would do anything for the two of you."
Clare grabbed Alli and Adam and brought them in for a group hug.
"Hey do we get to be part of this love fest?"
Clare turned around to see who had asked the question. She found Drew standing there with a big smile on his face. Standing beside him was Becky, Imogen, Jake, Katie, Maya and Miles. They all had big smiles on their faces. Just then Eli walked up and put his arm around Clare.
"We are so lucky to have all of you guys as family. Thank you for helping create this special day for us all to celebrate our baby girl" Eli said
Clare looked back out at all the faces. What she saw brought a tears to her eyes, all those faces were not faces of old high school friends they were the faces of family. Sure they had, had their ups and downs over the years but in the end they were always there for one another. These people were amazing and it made Clare happy to know that her little girl was going to have them in her life as well; she was always going to have someone to be there for her.
"Aww man no crying Vice Pres." Drew said with a chuckle "Today is all about being happy and celebrating that beautiful little girl you created with the love of your life"
"I promise Drew these are happy tears. I am just so overwhelmed by all the love and support from you guys. I love you all and thank you so much for everything that you have done for our family" Clare said while sniffling.
"Okay Okay no more of that little sister. We are here to celebrate my niece so there shall be no crying, or else," Jake said waving his fist at Clare
"OMG okay no need to threaten me Jackass" Clare said laughing
"Yeah no threatening my baby mama Jackass" Eli said waving his fist at Jake
"Okay kids break it up, Holy Shit is that Johnny DiMarco?" Alli exclaimed
"Oh yeah did I forget to mention that Eli and I ran into him and we invited him to come. I swear I told you, damn pregnancy brain has me on the fritz lately" Clare said
"Hey Guys how are you all" Johnny said coming up to the group of friends. "Oh wow, Alli how are you? It is so great to see you after all these years" He stated going up to her and giving her a hug.
"I'm great Johnny. Wow I'm sorry I am just still in shock that you are here. Man it has been a really long time"
"It really has, we should catch up"
"Yeah come grab some food with me and we can talk" Alli said grabbing Johnny and leading him to the food table.
"And that is how Master Clare hooks her best friend up" Clare said giggling
"Come on babe lets go make the rounds and see our parents" Eli stated while giving Adam and Jake a secretive nod
"Okay babe. Guys seriously thank you for everything. I love you all" Clare said to the group.
4 Hours Later
"Baby that was the best baby shower ever. I cannot believe how awesome everything turned out and how much love there was for us. Oh and did you see how Johnny and Alli never left each other's side. I always knew deep down that he was the one for her. The only that bothered me was I kept looking for Jake and Adam and they like disappeared, I didn't see them all night." Clare said leaning against Eli in the elevator on the way up to their condo.
"Hmm, I didn't even notice that. I was to busy making the rounds and talking to all those people who were there. It really was a great party. I am so excited for our little one to get here. I do truly love you both. You guys are my everything" Eli said rubbing her belly.
"You are our everything to Eli" Clare said leaning up to kiss him.
When the elevator doors opened and they walked hand and hand to there front door. When Clare opened the door and walked in the sight that greeted her was something she truly wasn't expecting. There were twinkling lights strung up everywhere as well as LED candlelight's and tons of red roses.
"Oh my god Eli what is this" Clare said walking further into the room. When she didn't get a response from Eli she turned to find him down on one knee in front of her.
"Oh My God" Clare said with tears streaming down her face and her hand covering her mouth. Eli then grabbed her left hand
"Clare I have loved you since I was sixteen years old. You are it for me. My Soul mate, My Better Half, The Love of My Life, The Mother of My Daughter. I want an eternity with you. I want you at my side forever. Let me be your man. Tell me that you trust me with your heart and our babies. Be my Wife. Say you'll marry me." Eli slipped a gorgeous 3-carat round platinum ring surrounded by a mix of small diamonds and sapphires onto her ring finger
"Clare Diana Edwards Will you Marry Me?"
"Oh Eli. Of course I trust you with all my heart and our babies and Of Course I will marry you. Oh god I love you so much" Clare said kneeling down and kissing Eli hard
"I can't believe I'm going to be your wife. I cannot wait Eli. I love you so much." Clare cried
"I love you too Clare. I cannot wait to be your Husband. It's nothing but greatness from here on out Clare. Nothing will bring us down. It is going to be a wonderful life my love"
"How did you manage all this Eli?" Clare asked
"Adam and Jake did it while we were at the baby shower"
"That's why they went missing"
"Yup I owe them a lot. They really did an amazing job"
"Thank you Eli for making this all so perfect. I love you so much "
"I love you too Clare. I love both of you so much"
Eli and Clare made sweet and passionate love right there in the middle of there living room, afterwards they stayed tangled in each others arms and talked all about there future that seemed so bright.
Once again I am so sorry for the long absence. I am in the middle of getting my Masters Degree so it will take some time to get this finished.
