Author's Note: Ok, so I know I was slow and stuff, but thanks to a certain somebody i've gotten off my ass and finally written some :p Sorry for the delay, I know i'm a butt face. I'll try to update more now that i'm back home. Don't worry, i've already started teh chapter that comes after this (mainly because I decided to split what i've written so far)... so yeah, I'm working on the next chapter... anyways, hope you enjoy :D (please don't hate me)

Kim strapped Princess Maria into her seat and took a seat beside her and Will Du.

Will said in a low voice to Kim, "Shouldn't the princess stay behind? If there are still mercenaries around, this could be dangerous."

The redhead sighed. "Will, I know this isn't to protocol, but right now, we're rather shorthanded. We finished our last mission, and the agents fit for duty are out on new missions. Some have to do follow up work with officers from other countries to gather as much intel from the base we ransacked. There aren't many who were volunteering for this position either. This is not a required op. We barely managed to get this approved through the various channels needed. So just deal with it."

That quieted him. Kim tried to give a reassuring smile to the princess who felt slightly awkward, having heard the male agent's complaint.

They sat in a few moments silence, waiting for the helicopter to take off before another person decided to accompany them.

"Dr. Director?" Will asked in confusion.

"Low on man power. Besides, I need to get out in the field at times as well, don't want to get too rusty."

Kim smiled slightly, "You want to find Shego too."

"Of course."

"You ok?"

"Legs still hurt like a bitch, but at least I can still feel them. And what about you? That's a pretty deep gash you got on your forehead."

"Just a flesh wound. Besides, it's already starting to heal up nicely."

"I wish I could say the same about these damn legs. I'll never be able to walk again at this rate."

"Hah. That's assuming we live much longer."

"Don't be such a negative Nancy."

"Don't tell me what to do."

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard that before."

"…. We've been here so long we're repeating ourselves, eh?"

"Probably a few days… that feel like months."

"Can't be helped. Don't even know where the fuck we are."

"Damn, if I knew I was going to be dying in a cave because of this mission I would've said goodbye to my kid."

"Kid? I didn't know you had a kid."

"Of course not. We never talk about that sort of thing at work. Separate personal and private lives, even from those we're closest too."

"I think that's stupid."

"…. Really? I never thought I'd hear that coming from you. You're secretive about everything."

"Probably because there's not much you can say about me."

"What? No lover? No kids of your own?"

"Well, of course I'm in love with someone… but I don't think it'd be smart to try anything. And no, no kids."

"… Promise me something."

"…. Why do I feel like I'm going to regret it if I do?"

"Just, promise me, ok?"

"What exactly is it I'm supposed to be promising you?"

"That if you do get out of here, you tell them that you love them. Life is so short, you know? Don't waste your time like I did. Wasted a good 5 years of my life not saying anything to the love of my life, and it turned out, she loved me back. That's five years I'll never get back. So promise me."

"Alright, alright. I promise. But just so you know, if I'm getting out of here, so are you. And in that case, you have to promise me something as well."

"Oh? And what could I possibly have to promise you?"

"Hug your kid…. And spend every moment with them. Don't ever judge them for who they are or who they become. When the whole world seems to be against them… they'll need at least one person's support, even if they choose the wrong path. You have to be there. You don't want them to turn out like me."

"…. I think you turned out pretty well… in the end."

"Hah… that's because you can't see my thoughts."

"And what exactly are they?"

"This way!" Princess Maria called out. "There's a decent amount of blood and footprints going in this direction!"

The three agents searching the surrounding woods all headed in her direction, then followed the trail to a small mound with a piece of the wrecked helicopter sticking out of it.

It was a little hard to make out, but Betty read the inscription out, "F I T Z."

Their stomachs lurched when they realized that it meant their fellow agent had perished and been buried there….. but it also meant that someone was alive. Shego or Coulder, or maybe even both.

They immediately searched for some sort of trail, but to no avail. They should've known it wouldn't be easy. Trained GJ agents knew how to hide their trail.

"Looks like we'll have to search everywhere," Will said.

Kim frowned, "No… I don't think so. Shego would go towards shelter, something that no one would think of searching, at least not when they assume that their prey is injured."

"It may be Coulder that's alive, and not Shego," Will pointed out.

"Unless Coulder can engrave a piece of metal with plasma, I don't think he's the one who made that grave marker."

"Fair point," he conceded.

They stayed in one spot for a bit as Kim surveyed their surroundings. There were several hills and a rocky cliff within sight. "Let's head to the cliff."

"Wouldn't the cliff be where their pursuers would check?" the princess asked.

"Yeah, but Shego wouldn't be stupid enough to hide anywhere easily found. There might be a place near the cliff with little visibility."

Dr. Director nodded to the redhead, "Lead the way."

The trekked through the forest until they reached the cliff.

Will was the first to spot the ledge about thirty feet off the ground.

Kim and Will made sure everyone was hooked to the climbing gear properly before they started to ascend the cliff, getting closer and closer to the ledge.

When they were within ten feet of it, they could hear talking.

"…. I think you turned out pretty well… in the end," said a male voice.

"Hah… that's because you can't see my thoughts," the other snorted. It was female.

"And what exactly are they?"

Kim was gripping the ledge and pulling herself up when she heard the woman's reply.

"I wish I didn't exist. I wish GJ didn't exist. I wish… I wish Kimmy didn't exist."
