Author's Note: Hey guys. Sorry it's been so long. This was probably the story that I'm least invested in right now. I'm still going to finish it, because I never want to be that author that says they'll finish a story then forgets about it. I can't do that. Hell, I want to know how my own story is going to end, so I won't ever stop writing these fics until their finished. This fic just might take a bit longer than the others to update. I also want to warn you all... Nanowrimo just started, and so that's going to be what I'm focusing on writing for this month, and I'm also going to have to study for finals near the end of November, so it's not very likely I'll update much, if it all, this month. The only reason this fic is being updated is because I had forgotten to post this chapter last week when I finished it. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this, and I'm sorry I've been such a butt and that I'm going to continue being a butt and slow to update. Hopefully this will satiate you all for a little while :) Oh yeah, even though I will be focusing on Nanowrimo this month, I still wouldn't mind the reminder to update - because who knows... I might find myself with a bit of free time and then I'll gladly work on these fics :) Anyways, do enjoy and let me know what you think :)
"I don't hear any cries of pain. Did you guys work things out?" Betty asked as she poked her head into the room.
Kim practically threw herself off of Shego and into a chair while Shego quickly spun around on the desk to put her back to the door.
The brunette raised an eyebrow. She wasn't sure she saw what was happening correctly, but if she had she didn't want to keep watching. "Seems I came back too soon," and then closed and locked the door once again, leaving the two women in heart pounding silence.
"Alright, so we were probably rushing things," Kim said after she calmed her heart a little, running a hand through her hair nervously.
Shego nodded slightly.
"Then… how about we ignore the kinda sort of liking each other thing and do something else?" Kim suggested, an idea forming in her mind.
Shego cocked an eyebrow, "Like what?"
"Meeting my family," she grinned.
Shego practically jumped out of her skin. "Kimmy, I'm relatively positive that's a step we're not at yet. We haven't even hit the 'dating' part. So that'd be rushing just a teeny bit."
Kim shook her head quickly, "Not what I meant. I mean just come over for food, hang with us for a weekend. I think it'd help. You can see what a real family is supposed to be like. Maybe it'll help a little."
Shego was hesitant to accept, but in the end she couldn't help but agree. "Alright, I think I can manage one dinner… but I feel like your parents will recognize me as an enemy and things won't go so smoothly."
Kim waved that off. "No worries, they know you're working for GJ."
Shego raised an eyebrow. "How do they know that?"
The redhead scratched the back of her head and leaned back in her chair slightly. "Well I always keep my parents updated on how I'm doing and stuff… so I told them you were teaching me."
Shego frowned slightly. "Did you also tell them about the whole falling out we just went through?"
Kim winced slightly, "Well maybe a little here and there but I never gave them a name."
"I guess that'll work. Hopefully they don't notice that you meant me, otherwise I don't think this dinner will be such a good idea."
"Don't worry, my parents will love you. As long as you don't wear your cat suit you should be fine."
"Oh, right, that whole 'circus folk' thing. What was up with that anyways?" Shego leaned towards the girl with a slightly quirked eyebrow.
"A few years back I went on a mission that involved circus folk and they had to stay at our place for a week after some stuff happened. They uh, did some things during their stay. My dad refuses to let circus folk stay a night, ever again. They can stay over for a few hours, but that's it. Then they're out."
"I kind of want to ask for more details…"
"Don't, it's not a pretty story."
"Got it. And no worries, I'll wear normal clothes, alright?"
"Yeah," Kim smiled. "I'll call my parents and set the dinner up for this Friday night. That way you have three days to mentally prepare."
"Alright, just let me know the details later." Shego hopped off the desk. "I think it's time I head home and get some rest. Betty still riding my ass to work tomorrow."
Kim chuckled slightly and headed to the door along with the older woman. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow then."
"You're back to work so soon as well?"
She shrugged, "Well I'm still not supposed to do too much physical stuff, so Betty has me working on reports and stuff while observing the class. All of us injured have the joys of paperwork while the rest get to go through your grueling training."
Shego smirked as she pulled open the door, "Excellent. I get to let out a little steam." She held the door open and Kim walked through.
Both came to a halt when they came face to face with Betty who was on her phone near the elevator.
"So you worked things out?" the brunette asked with a cocked eyebrow.
The two looked at each other and then quickly looked away after making eye contact. Kim blushed slightly and Shego just shoved her hands in her pockets. "Yeah, we worked things out," Shego said quickly.
They pushed past the woman as the elevator arrived. Right before the doors closed Betty quickly said, "I'll see you both in the morning… bright and early."
"Yes ma'am," the two replied.
"Holy fuck, Betts, this is way too fucking early to be coming into work," Shego grumbled as she lounged in the brunette's chair.
"Oh hush. You're getting paid well."
Shego muttered a few curse words under her breath before getting up and heading for the door. "Don't blame me if I run them into the ground."
"Yes, yes, enjoy yourself." The door slammed shut and Betty smiled slightly. Things were finally back to normal. Well, as normal as things could be after the loss of Fitz.
Shego stepped into the elevator and grumbled under her breath the entire way down. As people entered and exited the elevator they all would stand frozen in the elevator until they could escape it. When she reached the bottom floor where the gym was held she walked straight to her office, ignoring those waiting for her to teach. She still had another thirty minutes of her own time, so she was going to spend it doing something she loved.
She closed and locked her door and then sprawled out on her couch, falling asleep instantaneously.
A knock woke her up twenty minutes later. She grumbled as she looked at her watch and saw that someone was infringing upon her nap time. Whoever was at the door continued to knock, getting louder with every passing second. With a groan she pulled herself off the couch and flung open the door angrily. "What?!" she snarled.
She almost showed surprised when she saw Coulder on the other side of the door. While he was in a wheelchair, he still seemed capable of moving around easily and being a pain in the ass for Shego.
He raised an eyebrow at her and after a long sigh she let him in before closing and locking the door, ignoring the mumbling coming from the others in the gym.
Kim's brow furrowed when she saw Shego let someone into her office that early in the morning.
Coulder wheeled himself around to face Shego who was leaning against the door. "So, did you keep your promise?"
Shego sighed and scratched the back of her head.
"Should I take that as a no?"
"Well…"
"You promised me," he said sternly.
"Woah, chill a little."
"You can't keep running away from this."
Shego rolled her eyes, "I mean you need to chill so I can actually finish a goddamn sentence."
He shut his mouth and nodded at her to continue.
"I told her."
His eyes widened. "How'd it go?"
Shego chuckled slightly as she said with a crooked grin, "I think we have a kinda sorta date."
A/N: Alright guys, what'd you all think? :D Let me know because I really do love feedback and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
