Yami had never spared a thought to if he could be summoned as a spirit. He knew logically, that there were spells that could summon him, but had always thought that because of his connection to Yugi that it simply was not possible. Then as they were getting ready to leave for Egypt he felt a tearing near his navel, something he recognized in some older part of himself was a summoning. So he had done the only thing he could think of, he held tight to the connection between Yugi and himself with all of his might.
As he opened his eyes, he heard gasping sounds. He was standing next to a ruined cauldron, smoking ominously. A magic unlike his own shadow magic reached out and brushed against his shields, touching Yugi's soul room. It didn't seem to be malicious so he allowed it. That was a mistake. The magic flared through Yugi's room, filling it and severing the connection he felt with his host.
When he could open his eyes again he realized something he had never expected had happened. Yugi was laying next to him, now solid. But the weird thing was his wings. A bright white in color, they draped from his shoulders over his tiny form like a blanket. It was only as he bent to check that Yugi was still breathing that he noticed his own black feathers touching the ground. He looked around as he stood back up, feeling a slight tug on what used to be his bond with Yugi, only now it was leading to a small, pudgy boy staring fearfully at him.
"Master, I am at your service" he said with a wince, hating that he had to say the words as he knelt before the boy, then realizing that he was still speaking Egyptian, tried Japanese. when that didn't elicit a response, he cycled through the other languages he knew, French, Latin, and finally English "Master, what is your wish?"
The boy responded by fainting. Yami sighed, He hoped the black haired man would do something soon. He could not until his new master told him too.
Switch to Severus's pov
Severus had thought the Longbottom boy was incompetent before the strange smoke filled the classroom, and then he spotted the monstrosity standing in the spot where a ruined cauldron and Longbottom's desk had been. Only Longbottom could turn a healing potion into what he suspected was a summoning potion that seemed to have summoned a demon and an angel. For what else could the two forms be?
The red eyes swept up to meet his, and he shivered, this demon had power that Riddle could only dream of, that he was sure. It was wafting off of the boy in waves, like a scent. Red eyes then turned to the angel, and Snape took one step forward, thinking the demon would kill his long time enemy.
He could not believe then that the demon knelt down to the angel to check his pulse. Then it turned to the room and stepped around Severus and knelt again, this time in front of Longbottom, saying something none of them understood, cycling through several different languages before trying English.
"Master, what is your wish." he said, not even looking at the boys eyes.
Severus just about followed his student into oblivion when he heard those words. He had been speculating at best that the demon would be beholden to the one that summoned him, but to hear it call Longbottom master was not only unnerving, but had enormous ramifications for the war. Stunned, he did the only thing he could think of, for the demon would not move until given a command, that much he knew. So, he enervated Longbottom. When the boy started to panic again, Severus sighed
"Longbottom, you have nothing to fear! Now stop cowering and order that thing to come with us to the Headmasters office."
"II...orrrder yyyou to cccome wwwith usss."
Severus rolled his eyes as the demon rose, stopping only to pick up a strange bag that was laying on the floor, and the angel which the demon cradled close to his chest. Well maybe this would entice that old man to stop insisting that the Griffindor's have classes with the Slytherins. One could only hope. They were not even out of the classroom before the demon was stopping again, this time in front of potter, "You must take him."
"What?" Potter said eloquently
"The angel, take the angel." he growled, and a shocked Potter complied.
End chapter
So I separated Yugi from Yami so that they can be their own people. I've wanted to see this done since the first episode of Yugioh. I mean i love the soul bond thing, but it's kinda unfair to Yami to make him solve all of Yugi's problems.
