Emma stared down at Regina, the open casket had been Henry's idea. He said it would help him ease into saying goodbye to her; she looked like she was sleeping, but not in her bed, he could see her and understand that she was gone. Her eyes trailed along the gentle curl of her hair, skimming along her lips and down the slope of her neck; she refused to look at her closed eyes, knowing that they would never open.

"Live in my house, I'll be your shelter," Emma's voice came out in a rasp, her heart in her throat. She softly cleared her throat, took a breath and closed her eyes, seeing only Regina's face the first time Emma sang to her. "Just pay me back, with one thousand kisses. Be my lover and I'll cover you."

"Open your door, I'll be your tenant. Don't got much baggage, to lay at your feet," Emma found each new line came out louder and stronger, though not as belted as the movie or the show because Emma found she still could not catch the breath to project more than she currently was. "But sweet kisses I've got to spare, I'll be there and I'll cover you," Emma took gasping breaths as grief overwhelmed her once more and felt a strong hand slip into her own.

"I think they meant it, when they said you can't buy love," Emma found the strength to continue after the hold on her hand tightened and another hand wrapped around her wrist. "Now I know you can rent it, a new lease you are my love. On life, all my life."

She drew from Henry's strength and slowly opened her eyes, though keeping them focused on Regina's hands; her green ring on the right and the sapphire encrusted band Emma gave her on their anniversary on the left. She slipped her free hand into Regina's and continued on, pulling Henry close to her. "I've longed to discover something as true as this is," at this point Emma heard only Regina in her head and her heart singing the other part, rather than Ruby and the choir Snow had gathered.

Being one who was always controlled by her emotions, Emma's grief clouded every ounce of her magic, preventing her from seeing an ethereal Regina just to her left, singing softly to her, translucent fingers trailing through blonde hair, "with a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you."

With each new line Emma was able to push out, Regina was next to her, echoing the part that was once always her and wishing with all that she was to just be able to reach out and hold Emma, to hold Henry, to protect them from this unnecessary pain. Joining her family in hating something so small and futile as a nail. She survived being thrown through the clock tower, but somehow not something so insignificant.

If you're cold and you're lonely
With a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you
You've got one nickel only

With a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you
When you're worn out and tired
With a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you

"When your heart has expired," Emma gasped out, the sound barely reaching Henry's ears as she dropped to the floor; Henry following her down and pulling her close to him and gently rocking her; even death unable to stop Regina's heart from breaking.

525,600 minutes…

Oh, lover, I'll cover you.

Regina could see Henry whispering into Emma's ear; crouching down, she tearfully smiled as she heard Henry softly singing to Emma, taking deep breaths and encouraging her to do the same. So proud of her baby boy, she knew they would help each other; she knew that she wasn't coming back from this one and she was so happy that her love and her baby still had each other. She reached out, brushing an errant hair from Henry's forehead, her face dropping as her fingers went straight through them, though noticing the shift in Henry's face.

525,600 minutes

"She's here, Ma," Henry whispered into Emma's ear. "Do you feel her?" He got no response from Emma, save for ongoing sobs ripping through her body. "Come one, Ma. Try, feel her," Regina watched as Henry frantically searched the room and when failing closed his eyes and hugging Emma tighter. "Can you feel her, Ma?"

525,000 seasons of love.

"Yeah, I do, kid." Emma choked out. "She's here."

"I'll cover you," Regina sang softly, wrapping her arms around the two loves of her life before feeling herself drift away.
