Chapter Nineteen: Survivors

"Everyone alright?" Thompson coughed as the dust began to settle. Max and Maz groaned simultaneously, followed by Rosa as she treated a painful gash on the side of Serizawa's head, wrapping a bandage round his head, covering his right eye by mistake.

"Our loyal Rodan. You got us to where we needed to be for years. Thank you." Maz said, mourning the crashed Chinook. Rosa leaned in, "That's what helicopters are supposed to do." Maz quickly wiped a tear away and turned to the rest of the group.

"Were the Stinger Missiles damaged?" Thompson wheezed. Serizawa leaned back into the Helicopter and looked round, setting his gaze on the crate of munitions strapped to the inside of the fuselage. "No, they're fine!" He called back.

Max began to wander round the building they were in; one of the many Courthouses of Tokyo. He meandered around rubble and debris with his flashlight as he explored when he heard the scraping of footsteps behind him.

He whirled round and shone the flashlight on the source of the sound. Max quickly apologised and turned off the light as he was face to face with three civilians; A Woman, a Teenage Girl and a Guy.

"are you military? Thank God!" Mark cried out in relief. "Wait a minute...are you The Mark Stone? from Big and Bad?" Max gawped in amazement. "When Godzilla attacked, we decided to shelter in here till rescue came. Are you here to get us out?" Katie asked.

Maz appeared from behind Max, scaring the living daylights out of him as he introduced himself to the three survivors. "Maz Marsh, Second in command science Officer and pilot, at your service." He said politely before Max shoved him out of the way again.

"Wait, you're here to follow Godzilla and Mothra? Have you seen my Dad?" Dianna asked, concerned for Hunters' wellbeing.

Thompson, Rosa and Serizawa looked on at the crate of missiles as they tried to work out what to do. "Well, I checked and most of them have the firing mechanisms damaged, so there'll be no way of firing them." He said, folding his arms. "We could still go along with the plan." Serizawa said, "We could get Ghidorah to swallow the crate and remotely detonate it, I saw some C4 Charges in there too."

"That's it then." Rosa concluded, "We risk our lives on a suicide mission to get Ghidorah to eat the missiles. Brilliant." She laughed sarcastically.

Meanwhile outside, Things weren't looking good for Mothra, Ghidorah had slashed one of her wings, making it almost impossible for the monster to fly. Mothra screeched in anger before flailing rasor sharp forelimbs at Ghidorah's face. The monster simply shrugged off the weak attack and slammed Mothra into the ground, roaring triumphantly.

Godzilla watched the scene in horror, before turning to the Tokyo Tower, and with immense strength, locked his hands around one of the support beams and tore it free. As the Tower collapsed behind him, Godzilla raised the beam to shoulder height, aimed, and threw the debris like a javelin.

The beam sliced through the air, striking Ghidorah in the back as it exploded, knocking the monster face-down in the dirt as Godzilla closed in.
