Chapter Twenty-Four: Rise Of Mothra Reprise

Hunter tried to hold his family close, but Dianna threw her Dad's arms down and ran to face Godzilla. She spread her arms wide and closed her eyes. Struggling to block out her fear, Dianna concentrated on the definition of "mercy" clenching her fists, Dianna rose her arms above her head as she telepathically pleaded Godzilla to stop.

The King Of Monsters hesitated, before withdrawing its' atomic power and bowing his head. Godzilla turned away from the building and started to leave, slowly approaching the ocean as dawn cast over the ruined city of Tokyo.

"Wow! How did you do that!?" Max and Maz gawped. "IMPRESSIVE!" Jackie shouted ,"I've had this ability all my life. It uhh... it lets me communicate with animals, allowing me to reason with them or share thoughts and feelings." Dianna responded followed by cheers of joy from the others.

Serizawa stood on the edge of the rooftop, watching Godzilla slowly approach the sea and climbing into the water. "Goodbye, old friend." He said quietly as Godzilla swam off, his huge spines quickly sinking as the group looked on to the sunrise.
