"Uhh, I still can't believe this." Shay said with a huge smile as she looked down at her ring again for the 50th time since they had finished dinner.
Troian was currently washing all the dishes, and not letting Shay help because she wanted to raven-haired beauty to just sit and relax.
"How about we take a picture and text it to all the parents, then celebrate?" Troian suggested as she took a sip of her wine.
"That sounds perfect, Miss Bellisario." She said, grabbing her phone and standing up, walking over to the brunette and placing a kiss on her lips quickly.
They took a picture of the two of them together, with Shay's hand clearly in view, her ring sparkling, and sent it to their parents respectively with different excited captions.
Within a few minutes, Troian was on the phone with her dad and stepmom and Shay was on the phone with her parents gushing about how perfect the proposal was.
Troian hung up with her dad and stepmom after a few short minutes in order to call her mom and break the news to her before Shay was done on the phone with her parents.
"Hey mom, how are you?" Troian asked as soon as her mom picked up.
"I'm good, T, how are you?"
"Good, I have some great news!" Troian said happily, her smile growing when she heard Shay's excited voice coming from the living room.
"You finally asked that gorgeous girl to marry you?" Her mom guessed as Troian smiled and nodded.
"And she said yes!"
Troian had introduced Shay to her mom a little while before she has introduced her to her dad since her mom was usually less intimidating, and her mom absolutely loved Shay.
About 10 minutes later, Troian hung up the phone and walked into the living room, surprised to see Shay just lying on the couch waiting for her to be done on the phone.
"How are your parents?" Troian asked as she fell into Shay's open arms, sighing happily as soon as her now fiancée started rubbing her back.
"They are beyond thrilled. They can't wait to meet you in person." Shay said, kissing the top of Troian's head.
"My parents are incredibly excited as well. Both sets want us over for dinner soon." Troian said as the raven-haired girl nodded.
"Sounds good to me."
"The girls are going to freak out tomorrow, aren't they?" The brunette asked, already knowing the answer.
"Definitely. I see lots of screaming and jumping in our future." Shay said with a smile.
"We have the table read tomorrow morning before we start shooting, too. So everyone will be together." Troian added with a soft smile.
"It'll be great. T, tonight has just been absolutely incredible. Thank you." She said sincerely, tears forming in her eyes as Troian looked up at her.
"Thank you." Troian said, just as seriously.
"For what?"
"For saying yes." She said as Shay shook her head and smiled before leaning down to kiss her fiancée.
"It's always been a yes."
The next morning, after an amazing night of not sleeping, the girls rolled up to the table read in Troian's car, ready to tell all of their friends.
They kissed each other softly one last time before they both exited the car and walked into the Warner Brothers building hand in hand.
They walked in and sat down in their seats, smiling around the room as they saw animated discussions happening.
Soon after them, Lucy walked in holding her purse and a coffee and hugged Troian's head with a smile.
"Hey, T. Hi, Shay. How are you ladies?" She asked as she set her stuff down.
"We're good. Hey Luce, can I get your input on this ring?" Troian asked normally.
"Yeah, of course. What does it look like?" Lucy asked as she turned to look at Troian who was now holding Shay's hand up, with her engagement ring showing.
"Shut. Up. You didn't." The tiny brunette said with an ever-growing smile on her face.
"I did." Troian confirmed unnecessarily with a big smile.
"Oh my gosh! You guys! This is so great! Congratulations!" Lucy said, bringing them both into a huge hug even though they were both sitting down in their chairs.
"Thanks, Lucy." Shay said happily as Lucy pulled back from the hug.
"And I totally approve of this ring. Nice work, T." She added, ruffling the older girl's hair affectionately.
"I want to surprise Ashley, so don't say anything, alright?" Shay said with a smirk as Lucy nodded.
Another three minutes went by with Lucy and Troian chattering away excitedly before Ashley walked in with her sunglasses on.
"Morning, you wonderful creatures." The blonde said dryly. "How's it going, Mitch?" She asked as she sat down next to Shay.
"Pretty good. But I think I did something to my hand, can you just look at it really fast for me?" She asked with a small smile.
"I mean, my name isn't Dr. Benson or anything, but I can look at it." The blonde said, moving her sunglasses to the top of her head.
"Thanks, Ash." Shay said, waiting for her friend to be situated before she showed her the ring.
"Sure, but that girlfriend of yours would probably be better at diagnosing some hand problem." Ashley said slowly.
"Yeah, well, she caused it." Shay said with a smirk, confusing Ashley even more.
Shay stuck her hand out into Ashley's outstretched hand with a smile as the blonde froze and just continued to stare at the engagement ring for a few more seconds with her mouth open.
"You alright over there, Benson?" Troian interjected with a playful tone in her voice.
"You little minx, Bellisario." Ashley said with a huge smile as she brought Shay in for the tightest hug ever. "This is amazing you guys. Congratulation!" She said excitedly and sincerely.
"Thanks, Ashley." Troian said sincerely since Shay was being hugged too tightly to talk, "I might need this girl alive in order to marry her though." Troian joked as Ashley let go of Shay, who gasped for air slightly, as Lucy just smiled and shook her head.
"I want the whole story later, Buttah." Ashley said, excitedly bumping Shay's shoulder as Lucy agreed.
"Hey Tyler!" Troian shouted across the room as Tyler walked in.
He quickly looked at her with a questioning look and as soon as she smiled brightly, he broke out into a large smile.
"Yes! Way to go, dude!" He exclaimed as he got closer, pulling the skinny brunette in for a hug.
"Did you know?" Ashley asked accusatorily as Tyler shrugged.
"Possibly?" He said slowly.
"Why didn't you tell me!" She pouted as he went over and kissed her cheek.
"Because if I had told you, you would've been on the phone with Shay the very next second, telling her everything. I wasn't gonna spoil the surprise."
"Fine, you're right, I guess. I'm not thrilled about that, though." She added as they all laughed.
About five minutes later, Marlene King, the show's creator, brought the table read to order.
"Did something exciting happen over there this morning, girls?" She asked the four PLLs, who were all giddy and whispering excitedly.
Troian smiled at Shay and nodded, encouraging Shay to break the news to everyone.
"Last night, actually. This incredible woman to my left asked me to marry her." Shay said with the widest smile ever, "We're engaged!" She squealed as everyone in the room broke into applause.
"Congratulations, girls." Marlene said as she walked over and hugged them both tightly, feeling like a second mother to them.
"Thanks." They said to everyone in the room, who had big smiles on their faces.
"As a congratulatory gift, I will let Troian start us off." Marlene winked at the brunette who smiled back, reading the first line of the episode, which happened to belong to Spencer.
Later that night, Troian had dropped off Shay at her house so she could visit with Michaela and tell her all about the proposal before grabbing some of her things and making her way over to Troian's house.
The brunette knew that Shay was bringing over Chinese food in a few hours, so she decided to sit down in front of her computer and start editing the video of the proposal.
Almost three hours later, Shay walked in with an enormous smile on her face, holding two bags of Chinese food. She set down everything in the kitchen and walked to the living room to where the loud music was coming from.
She smiled when she saw Troian hanging a picture in the middle of the picture wall and as she got closer, her eyes filled with tears.
"The perfect picture." Shay said, remembering Troian's words when she asked her about the blank spot.
Troian turned around with a big smile on her face as soon as she heard Shay's voice.
"It finally came." She said with a smile before she reached out and pulled her fiancée into a hug, kissing her neck along the way.
The picture that hung in the middle of the picture wall was of Troian on one knee, slipping the ring onto Shay's waiting finger. They both had face-shattering smiles painted on their faces, and pure love shining through their eyes.
It was definitely the 'perfect' picture.
