~Yukio's POV~

Rin fell asleep in class again today, which shouldn't surprise me… but it does both annoy and anger me. Does he not realize the Vatican are still watching him? It just disappoints me to no end.

After class, though, he did act a little weird. He kept staring at the board as if the class was still going, but I figured he was just daydreaming. As I was talking to Shiemi about something, about 13 minutes into the conversation he finally left the room, kind of looking at the ground and seeming in a hurry… Well, I can't worry about that now, I have homework to do and things to grade and lessons to plan, but first, I have to go to Mephisto's office. He wanted me to talk to him about something.

I rushed off to the office, knocking on the door. A few minutes later, a familiar, slightly creepy voice from behind the door emitted.

"Come in~!"

I entered the office and was greeted by the sight of Mephisto signing several documents.

"Sir Pheles?" I said after a few minutes of an awkward silence [that only I probably felt, since he was also watching that green hamster at the same time… What's up with it, anyway?!}.

"Ahh, Yukio! You made it." He grinned sadistically at me, setting the pen down and clasping his hands together and resting his chin on his intertwined fingers.

I sighed, adjusting my glasses slightly. "I don't mean to be rude, but I do have some things to take care of, so I'd like to know why you called me here."

"Well, you see, I wanted to know if Rin has been acting strange, lately." His grin widened, and I raised an eyebrow slightly.

"I don't know what you mean. He has been acting normally." I replied stiffly. Upon immediate thought, I kept telling myself he was fine, but in the back of my head, I felt slightly worried at the statement. What if something really was wrong with my brother? What could cause Mephisto to ask this question?

"Well, that's good – but just in case, keep an eye on him." His mouth closed so his teeth didn't show, but he continued to grin widely. "You are dismissed~" He said before picking up the pen again, continuing to sign documents.

I nodded and left the room quickly, heading back to my dorm to find that Rin wasn't there. I figured that he must've gone out for a while, then, and I guessed that Kuro didn't know where he was since he was sound asleep and it hadn't been that long ago that class ended. I quickly set my stuff down and was about to get something when I realized a violin had been playing in the distance, and it was coming from above me. I began to go upstairs to look for the source, pistols at the ready. I could tell that I was getting closer, since it started getting louder, when it suddenly stopped. I headed upstairs to the assumed floor, checking every room except the ones that were always locked from the inside. They were locked since before me and Rin had moved in [According to my knowledge, at least – which isn't very comforting] but they were just sitting there as if they had never been touched - which wasn't much comfort, either.

I sighed, checking the rooms on the floor above me, since I had just been on the floor below me, meaning that it probably had left the building or it was just a figment of my imagination. I retreated back to mine and Rin's room, beginning my own work. I found my mind drifting back to my conversation with Mephisto, though, but I shrugged it off.

Until I stopped shrugging it off. He said to watch for any abnormal behavior from Rin, and I said I would – but I don't even know where or what he is doing right now. What IS he doing that he's not in the building?

After about an hour and a half I sighed, standing up and heading to the kitchen, to see if Rin was there. To my surprise, he wasn't. Ukobach was making dinner, yes, but normally Rin would be in here helping him or arguing with him or something. I started to worry a little bit, but before my mind could go too deep into it, Kuro wandered into the kitchen.

Where's Rin? Kuro mewled, looking at me. I had forgotten that now that I had awakened, I could understand Kuro. I shrugged, replying,

"I'm not sure. I haven't seen him since class earlier today. He's probably just wandering around, or something. He'll come home sooner or later, don't worry." I assured him, but I didn't feel too sure myself, and then I worried if my voice was wavering, but Kuro seemed to buy it.

Alright.. He mewled a little sadly, sitting on the table.

A little while later, Ukobach finished, serving us. We quickly said our thanks for the meal and ate quietly. It was kind of awkward at the table without Rin. This was the first time he had ever missed dinner in a while, if not ever.

I wandered into the bathroom and quickly showered and did everything I would normally do before I slept, before returning to my room and changing, climbing into bed. I laid there for a while, soon realizing I couldn't sleep due to the anxiety I felt. I sighed and sat up, wondering where he could be, when the door suddenly opened and Rin walked into the room, already changed, tossing the Kurikara under his bed and promptly collapsing onto it, without a word.

I, however, had some things I wanted to say.

"Rin!" I yelled, suddenly standing. He turned his head to look at me, his hair more of a mess then normal. His eyes were half-closed as he was somewhat falling asleep.

"Is something wrong, Yukio?" He replied blankly, his words slurring slightly.

"Is something wrong!?" I echoed, staring him down. "It's practically midnight! You've been gone since class! Where were you?!" I demanded, part of me angry, part of me curious as to what Rin had been up to.

His eyes widened slightly and realization, before half-closing again. "I decided to take a walk and lost track of time. Before I realized where I was, I was on the other side of town on the lowest level… It was a little of a challenge to find my way back… I was going to call you, but my phone was dead and I didn't have any money on me so I couldn't use a public phone. Sorry if I worried you, Yukio." He sounded genuinely sorry, a look of guilt splayed across his face.

My eyes opened slightly and I calmed down at his expression. "I'm sorry for lashing out at you, Nii-Chan. I was just really worried, I didn't know what had happened to you."

The room fell into an awkward silence for a few minutes before Rin broke it.

"Ukobach made you dinner, right?"
"Yeah. Did you get to eat dinner yet?"

He shook his head. "No, but it's late. I'll just wait until breakfast and have a slightly larger lunch."

"You sure, Nii-Chan?" I sounded slightly worried, wondering how hungry my brother must be right now.

"I'm sure, Yukio. Don't worry about me." He smiled what seemed like one of his truly sincere smiles, which were slowly but surely becoming rarer by the day. I finally sighed, content with his answer, climbing back into bed. He simply pulled the covers over himself and his head became dead weight.

"Goodnight, Nii-Chan." I finally sighed, slowly losing consciousness.

"Mhmm.." He nodded sleepily, right before I fell asleep.
