~Rin's POV~
I entered the classroom and everyone stared at me. I stiffly raised a hand as a hello, but Konekomaru looked like he was about to piss himself, so I quickly put my hand down and sat all the way in the back
Yukio sighed, continuing to teach the lesson, but his voice was quickly drowned out with a familiar feminine voice.
Rin-sama?
'Yes, Kurosune?' I thought in my head, making sure not to talk out loud.
You already know this stuff… I know cuz' I told you all this and mentored you over the last few years...
'I know, but they will suspect something if I keep playing hooky…' I thought in a sort of mumble, but she just sighed in response.
Okay… Kurosune will be quiet now… But don't be lonely, Kurosune isn't leaving..
I unconsciously nodded slightly, resting my head in my hand and staring blankly at the board.
The lesson dragged on, but I was really just in my own thoughts. Kurosune was right, I had already learned this. I pretended to pay mild attention, keeping my facade mask in place.
After a while, my head dropped to look at the glassy surface. I could see my reflection slightly, concentrating on the white spots in my eyes. I could tell the rest of my eyes were black and a seemed emotionless. I sighed inwardly, looking back up, wondering how much longer this would take.
I glanced up at the clock.
There was still 45 minutes left.
I mumbled something under my breath before staring blankly at the wall, wondering how much effort it would take just to walk out the door.
But then they would know something was wrong.
And my facade mask would slip.
I mumbled something under my breath, to no one in particular, when Kurosune came back.
Rin-sama, are you bored?
I sighed in my mind. 'I'm tired, I'm bored, and I wish that I could just leave… I wish that Azami would just hurry up and get this over with..'
Kurosune began to sing, but I didn't really know what she was singing. It sounded like some foreign language.
I sighed, my head swaying slightly in my hand to the soft tune, being careful not to start humming it myself.
She kept repeating the song over and over and over again. I felt glad that Kurosune was coming with me, but I also felt bad that this was the rest of her life that she was giving up for me… And by rest of her life, I mean an eternity of just me, her, and Azami. For all eternity, we would be together.
That was the deal, after all. If I lost the bet, Azami would take my soul because she 'didn't want me to be lonely anymore'. Through these cracks, she was slowly severing my soul from my body. The cracks slowly severed my soul from my body, but it was really releasing through my eyes. They were, after all, the windows of the soul.
Flashback
A little 5 year old boy sat alone, crying on a bench in a deserted part.
A few minutes prior, he had just gotten into another fight. But he didn't want to go home.
His dark, navy blue locks shook slightly as he sobbed. He didn't understand.
Rin-sama…. A female voice called out. He looked up, and there was a woman standing in front of him. She seemed around early-20's, and she wore a French-maid outfit. The child stared up at her, assuming the voice was hers.
"Ye-yes?" The child stuttered. He could tell that this woman was stronger than him, but he didn't understand why.
I sense you are lonely… Are you lonely, child? Her mouth didn't even move, but the child knew , in the back of her mind, it was her.
The child nodded, wiping away some of his own tears, rubbing his wet hands on his shirt.
I don't want you to be lonely… The woman seemed to think about something.
The child seemed surprised at this. "You- you don't?"
The woman suddenly looked at the child, smiling gently. I have made up my mind.
And at this, the child seemed confused.
When you are 15, you will have a great secret to hide. You will have friends whom you want to hide it from. The secret will cause them to fear you, possibly hate you… If you can keep this secret – no, if you can keep them from being afraid of you, hating you… I will leave you be.
The child nodded slightly, understanding a little bit but not completely.
If they do fear you.. if you fail to keep it… I will come back and Rin-sama will never be lonely again.
The woman smiled endearingly. The child, still not understanding, simply nodded in agreement, agreeing to a bet that would affect the rest of his life without realizing the seriousness of it.
Flash Forward In A Flash Back
A nine year old boy with dark, navy blue hair kicked a rock as he walked down the sidewalk.
He was angry because he had just gotten into another fight, and he didn't want to go home, not just yet. At some point he turned and walked down an alleyway. He sighed and slumped against a wall about halfway through, falling into a sitting position and resting his forehead between his knees.
"Why do I have to be like this?" He mumbled to himself. "No wonder I'm always alone.." He seemed miserable, when something shiny caught his eye.
"What's that?" He mumbled, getting onto his knees and picking it up in his hand. It was a small stud earring with a silver fox decorated with black jewels.
Who are you? A young, childlike female voice seemed to come from nowhere.
"Huh? Who-Who is that!?" He dropped the earring and crawled backwards into the wall.
Ow! Why'd you drop me~ The voice whined.
"You're… you're the earring?" He crawled up to it again, staring down at it.
Mmm.. Yes, I am. The voice had calmed down. My name is Kurosune.
"You're really pretty." He said, picking up the earring again, only gently this time.
Thank you. You seem… lonely. The voice suddenly sounded pitiful.
"You can see it?" He mumbled, tears threatening to fall from his eyes.
Yes, I can see it in your soul… Let me accompany you. The voice said it in a way that made it sound like it had already been decided.
"Accompany me?" He sounded confused, but his eyes still shimmered with tears.
I want to keep you company. If you let me come with you, I will give you companionship. The voice sounded happy now.
"You… You promise?" The boy said, his voice raising an octave.
I will… The boy's eyes traveled to the right until they couldn't anymore. He felt something piercing through his ear before it suddenly stopped and the pain suddenly left, and he couldn't see the earring in his hand anymore. It was gone, but the voice was still there.
Come, let us go home, hurry, before it gets dark~! The voice cooed, urging him on.

Rin-sama, Yukio and your dad and the clergymen are keeping a secret from you… Kurosune whispered. In the chair was a [still] 9 year old boy.
The boy frowned, his eyes shadowing. "What would that secret be?"
You are the son of Satan… the earring mumbled, but nonetheless told him.
"What?" The boy scrunched up his face as tears threatened to fall. "I can't believe it… Why wouldn't they tell me about that?"
I think they wanted you to grow up as a normal human boy.
"You really think so?" His face became slightly less shadowed.
Kurosune can sense that they love you. They love you, and Kurosune loves you, too. Don't be scared.
The boy nodded, wiping his eyes as a grin came onto his face. "Thanks, Kurosune. Now all that's left is to wait, right?"
Right. But even if they leave you, Kurosune always loves Rin. Just remember that.
"Alright." The boy nodded, putting on his signature happy-go-luck-idiot-grin. "I have to go make dinner before one of the clergymen try; otherwise they might accidentally poison us." He laughed, leaving the room.
Present
"-in?" A voice said in my ear. I snapped back into reality and stared at the person who had spoken to me. "Oy, moley four-eyes, what're you doing?"
"Well, class ended 15 minutes ago.."
"Oh… Well, I have plans, so… cya later, moley four-eyes." I grabbed my Kurikara and my backpack, rushing out, not noticing the strange glares I got from my classmates who had been staring at me, waiting for me to leave. I headed to the dorm and stormed straight to my conjoined room and collapsed against the door, breathing heavily.
