Chapter 1

"Hurry up, Blaise!" Draco shouted from the stairs. He was waiting impatiently for Blaise to get ready at his mansion while Draco stood awkwardly in the foyer. Blaise's mother was staring at him, making him fidget and mentally curse Blaise.

"Hold your horses, Malfoy. I'm here." Blaise said, coming down the stairs, taking two at a time and reached Draco in a matter of seconds. Draco swiftly turned to where Mrs. Zabini was, uttered a goodbye before dragging Blaise out of there, who didn't have time to greet his mother. Draco sighed in relief after the door had closed behind him.

"What's with the hurry, Malfoy?" Blaise asked, taking out his wand.

"Your dear mother was staring at me like hawk. Do you think that's a good position to be in?" Draco asked.

"Come to think of it, that's never a good place for men like you to be in." Blaise said, agreeing with him.

"Men like me? Enlighten me, please dear best friend."

"Men like us." He corrected himself. "You know, the kind that are hot, handsome, cute, all at the same time. And we're not forgetting the money. The money is all that matters."

"And you didn't consider yourself to be 'men like us' in the first place because?" Draco asked, turning to take a good look at his friend.

"I'm her son for Merlin's sake." Blaise exclaimed.

"So where are we going first again?" Draco asked, straightening his robes.

"We pick the girls up first and then we can head over to River Piddle." Blaise said.

"Why don't you get the girls? I don't want to step in there." Draco said, in a bored tone.

"Come on, Draco. You're such a buzzkill." Blaise said, pouting, his lips jutting out. Draco laughed. His demeanour always crumbles because of pouting Blaise.

"Okay, you got me at the pout. Fine, I'll come but I'm waiting outside, okay? I don't want to get Weasley cooties."

"You forget the Muggle cooties." Blaise said, with a smile on his lips.

"Nah, I don't mind Muggle cooties. The can lick my ass for all I care." Draco shrugged.

"So there's no problem coming, is there? Hermione owns the place and most of the things there are hers as well. Besides, Hermione would be really happy to have you in." Blaise said, placing a hand on Draco's arm. Draco pondered this. Blaise really wanted him to come along but he didn't want to go see the Weasley girl. To be honest, his friendship was way stronger and important than his grudge with the Weaslette. He didn't want to ruin their relationship just because of one irrational decision so he curtly nodded his head. Blaise jumped up in glee and did a victory dance.

"Let's go." He said, finishing his dance. "Oh, I forgot. You don't know where their apartment is so grab onto me so we can Side-Apparate." Blaise said, earning a chuckle from Draco. "No, not grab me there. Grab- take my arm, you perverted bastard!" Blaise yelled, as Draco let a laugh escape from his mouth. He pretended to sound annoyed but didn't quite pull it off as he had a curve to his lips, suggesting a smile.

"I wasn't suggesting anything." Draco said innocently, but grabbed Blaise's arm nevertheless.

"So you say, mate." Blaise said, but lost his facade and laughed. "Hold on tight, it's a disturbing journey." And they both Apparated, leaving a loud cracking sound behind.

*TTW*

"Hurry up, Hermione. They're gonna be here soon." Ginny yelled, slamming her fist on Hermione's locked door. Hermione opened the door, looking pissed off, dressed in a pair of jeans and a sweater. Ginny sighed in relief, her shoulders sagging.

"Calm down, would you?" Hermione snapped, pushing Ginny out of the way to the kitchen.

"Hermione, you were going to be late if I hadn't called you." Ginny whined.

"I would still be early if you hadn't tried knocking my door down." Hermione said, grabbing a can of coffee from the fridge. Ginny wrinkled her nose, apparently not liking her friend's choice of beverage. Hermione just shrugged and drained the can in one gulp. "Tell me why you're excited more than me for my date?"

"Well, I don't know about you but I'm not excited for your date. I'm excited for the game." Ginny said cheerfully, plopping down onto the sofa, which was facing away from the door. Hermione raised an eyebrow and shook her head.

"You sound like you don't know Draco is coming along."

"Why? I perfectly know he's going to be there." She said, twirling a strand of her copper locks.

"Cut the crap out, Gin. You're acting so odd." Hermione said, crossing her arms, worry etched across her face. The doorbell suddenly rang, but Ginny looked like she hadn't heard it at all, so Hermione sighed and went to get the door. Ginny started rambling again.

"I never act odd, Hermione. It's a Quidditch game. Who wouldn't go crazy for it. Besides, it's the most awaited match of the season. Name me one person that wouldn't be exited." Ginny stated.

"Me, myself and I. There you go. You have three people. Your argument's invalid." Hermione yelled from the doorway.

"But Mione," Ginny whined again, pouting. "Puddlemere United is one of the best teams out there. They may not be as close to my heart as the Cannons but they are a close second. Everything about them is super amazing." Ginny said.

"Even my amazing narcissistic demeanour and my handsome arrogant personality?" Asked an all too familiar voice. Ginny scowled, refusing to look in the way of the newcomer. "Aww, come on Weasley. I know you love to talk back so where are the words? Did you swallow them?" He asked, standing behind the sofa.

"I haven't even taken a proper step into the apartment and you guys have already started your lovers' quarrel." Blaise said, walking in with an amused expression and both Draco and Ginny turned to glower at him while Blaise calmly stared at them back. Draco was the first one to break out, turning swiftly in Hermione's direction.

"Do you happen to have Firewhiskey?" He asked her, to which she nodded and led him to the kitchen leaving Blaise with Ginny. Ginny sighed, turning in her seat and stared at the floor in silence instead.

"You know, Ginny, Draco was just fooling with you. His schedule today is kind of tight and tiring, so he just likes pushing your buttons. No need to get furious at him. I just want to say that, don't ruin this for Hermione. Although, I'd prefer to take her on a date alone. I know she wants you around all the time, and as much as I hate to admit it, I need Draco too. So, not even for me but for Hermione's sake, please try your best to tolerate, Draco, will you?" Blaise asked, looking apologetic. Ginny couldn't do anything other than nod her head in agreement. And just when she was about to say something, Draco and Hermione came back.

"Are we all set to go?" Hermione asked, to which everyone nodded. So they all left the apartment and Apparated to River Piddle. As soon as they had appeared at River Piddle Quidditch Stadium, they went to find their seats while Draco made a short trip to the lockers and told them that he'd join them later. Hermione started a conversation with Blaise in which they ended up kissing so Ginny decided to watch the commentators up on the commentary box. Somehow, they looked familiar.

"Of course they do. They were from Hogwarts." Said her inner annoying voice. She had said that out aloud.

"Obviously they were. Hogwarts is the only British. Wizarding. School!" Ginny yelled, making a lot of heads to turn to look at her.

"Calm down, Weasley. Your nose gets as red as your pathetic hair." Draco said, getting comfortable in his seat. But before Ginny could reply, one of the commentators started speaking.

"I would pretty much say that today's gonna be a hectic day." Said Lee Jordan, one of the commentators.

"I wouldn't say hectic, Lee but I think it would be fair to say that it could be a disastrous day. The clouds are grey, the wind's fairly strong, I think it will start raining heavily soon. So yes, if the players are not prepared and geared up for possible rainfall, I dare say that they will fall off from their brooms." Said the other commentator.

"Come on, Mike, don't be harsh on them, although, the weather would be harsh on them." Lee laughed, his voice sounding like thunder around the big stadium. Only Lee laughed though; Mike just stood there shaking his head. Mike turned towards the spectators, both standing above the VIP box with identical bluish shields above them. It couldn't exactly be seen in that kind of weather, but the bluish edge of it is always noticeable.

"Welcome to River Piddle, the home ground of Puddlemere United. I am Michael Corner and my cheeky friend here, Lee Jordan, will be your commentators for the day. Thank you all for coming, but before we fly-off, let us give you an insight on Puddlemere United as the players are getting on their rain gear right now." Mike and Lee rambled on but Ginny didn't bother to listen to them. After all, she knew the history of United like the back of her hand, as Draco had spent a fair amount of time rambling on about it. She rolled her eyes, apparently trying to grab someone's attention, but everyone's eyes and ears were glued to the commentators' words.

"No, that's not it, you bumbling idiot! United's won the League for 22 times! At least get your facts right, before you do something like this." Draco screamed at the commentators. Quite a few people were staring at him, but most of them were just chuckling at his sudden outburst. Ginny glared at Draco, interrupting her peace of mind.

"And looks like the Puddlemere United manager is not happy with us. Let me assure you, Mr. Malfoy, we got our information from Mr. Thompson, who may have forgotten a few things, or maybe a few decades of Quid-"

"Mike! Stop talking." Lee said, interrupting Mike. "Well, that's all folks. You can get more background on Puddlemere United in the next home game, or probably from the United board. That's all we can tell you about United today."

Ginny sighed, looking at the either side of her. Her shoulder was squished against Hermione's and her hip was smashed with Draco's. Blaise had to take the farthest seat. Hermione had to sit next to him. And for Ginny, it was either in between Draco and Hermione or Draco and the box rails, to which she decided she'd rather pick the former. Draco had approached them when he noticed the empty seat was next to Ginny and the rails. His brows had furrowed and he shook his head. Blaise was obviously the one who had gotten him into this kind of situation. He didn't like to be in close approximation with the Weaslette and he sure as hell hated having been pressed against the metal rails. The metal dug into his skin, but not painful enough to bruise him, but it did hurt from time to time, reminding him of the one percent of pain present. He had heard Ginny sigh and turned to look at her, frowning at the couple next to them, still making out. How they had the air to do it or oxygen as the Muggles put it, Draco didn't know. Just as he was about to call them out of their daze, the commentators voice boomed into the noise, breaking Blaise and Hermione apart. They were announcing the names of the opposing teams' players.

"And here comes the home team!" Said Mike, earning the team's anthem sung by the fans. The Magpies' fans on the other side looked angry but the kept their protests to themselves to not ruin the game. The blue-robed players flew out onto the pitch, in the order of their superiority. "WOOD, SMITH, DAVIES, FLINT, COOTE, WEASLEY, DIGGORY!" The all flew to hover facing the opposing players in a line. They looked at Draco and gave him a salute before turning back to face the Magpies.

Suddenly, Draco's beautiful face was hit by a massive wave of some red thing and he winced in pain. Ginny had flipped her head up, making her hair whip around, and smacking Draco right in the face. He shoved Ginny's shoulder causing her to glare at him. "What the hell's your problem, Weasley?" He asked, rubbing his left cheek.

"Is that who I think it is?" She asked, pointing to the second last player on the line. His red hair was messy from the strong wind and his strong hands gripped the handle of the broom. And as if he knew they were talking about him, he turned to face them and waved, his unmistakable brown eyes gleaming at them. Draco waved back, smiling while Ginny slapped Draco's hand down.

"I'll ask you again, Malfoy. Is that George or a doppelganger?" She asked, facing Draco completely now, her hips smashed with his.

"Doppelganger? Weasley, are you alright?" He asked, a frown marring his features.

"Of course I'm not! My brother is playing for your team and you didn't bother to tell me, his sister!"

"Fred didn't want me to tell you. He said he'll tell you himself. I suppose he wanted it to be a surprise but I don't know why he would bother to surprise you, since all you do is lash out." Draco said, crossing his arms. Ginny blushed, remembering the time Draco gave her a surprise, because Blaise forced him to. And then she frowned. Did he say Fred?

"Fred? You mean that's Fred? That's not George?" She asked, slightly shocked.

"Of course it is, Weasley. I'm quite surprised you can't identify your own brothers." Draco smirked.

"But Fred doesn't like Quidditch anymore." She said, baffled.

"If that's what he told you, then girl, I got bad news for you. You need to make time for your brothers more. Unless you make that time for some guy." Draco said, wiggling his eyebrows.

"I don't have a boyfriend." She said, sternly.

"Oh Ginevra. Did I say anything about a boyfriend?" Draco sighed, a smirk playing on his lips. Ginny was taken aback but before she could reply, the referee spoke up, having amplified his voice so that everyone can hear him.

"Welcome to River Piddle's 513th Quidditch match. I'm your referee, Angus Deverill! The Quidditch pitch has three goals at each end. The Chasers throw the Quaffle and try to put it through the hoops to score. Watch out for the Bludgers! These are charmed balls that can knock you off your broomstick! Two Beaters on each team try to keep them away. Remember, when the Snitch appears, it releases Speed Rings that will help the Seeker fly faster. Good luck to both the teams." He said, and proceeded to release the Snitch and the Bludger before taking the Quaffle in his hands. "Chasers, get ready." He said, before the horn sounded and he released the Quaffle high in the air for the Chasers.

"And the Quaffle is immediately taken by Cleo Matters and he speeds off to the United's goal posts. Oh, no! There's a Bludger heading his way!" Lee yelled, grabbing attention for himself more than for Matters.

"Don't be such a baby, Lee. Cleo Matters, all high and mighty, avoided the Bludger and now he's close to the goal post and he swerves for right, Oliver Wood follows but he throws the ball to his teammate, Moran Levesque, who was waiting by the left goal post. Levesque catches it in his hands and he scores! First goal of the game! And under one minute! Oliver Wood, would not like that would he?" Mike asked.

"Of course not, he might be the most underrated Keeper, but that sure as hell would've left a dent in his side. Anyway, back to the game." Lee said, as Mike's elbow jabbed him. "Now Wood throws the ball at the group of Chasers in front. It looks like Levesque will catch it and he does! He quickly makes a dash for the goal and he takes a look into a crowd winking at someone. Hmm, probably a girlfriend..."

"And here comes the Bludger, nipping his broom and sent the Quaffle tumbling out of his hands, right into the hands of a passing Zacharias Smith. Nobody knows who sent the Bludger but all we can say was that it was meant for Smith. Oh Smith, thank your lucky charms."

"Smith passes the ball to Davies, Davies speeds off high in the sky. Looks like a new tactic to me."

"Or maybe Davies is just- WAIT! Davies is speeding downward! A Bludger is chasing him with immense speed. Davies chucks the Quaffle away and Flint catches it, passing it over to Smith. He goes right, he goes left and he makes a dash for the right making the Keeper follow but alas! He throws the ball the other way into-"

"AND ZACHARIAS SMITH SCORES FOR PUDDLEMERE UNITED!" Lee yelled, abruptly and the fans cheered loud. Draco cheered beside her and Ginny let a small smile develop in her features.

"Admit it, Weasley. You smiled because you thought of how hot I would look in those robes." Draco whispered in her ear. Way to ruin the moment, she thought. She turned to glare at him but he winked at her and turned to watch the game again. How dare he ignore me? She tried to think of something to annoy him, but with Hermione's arm practically pressed against her chest, there was really nothing she could think off. Then she felt something poke her stomach. She looked down to see nothing but she was so sure. She just shrugged and continued watching the game. Zacharias Smith scored thrice, while Levesque, Matters and Zhang each have a goal in their score sheet so far.

Draco mentally chuckled. He just poked the Weaslette and she looked down, dumbfounded, thinking that she just imagined it. He poked her again, this time a bit higher. She squirmed a bit in the cramped space, pressing her chest against his arm. Merlin, could this get any worse, he thought, blushing red.

"Malfoy, did you do that?" She asked, shifting closer to him.

"Do what, Weasley? Can't you see I'm trying to watch the game?" He said, pretending to scowl, fidgeting with his fingers. Ginny smirked. She knew what was up. Draco usually fidgets with his fingers when he's lying. Woah, slow down. How long have I been observing him to know that, she thought. She slowly extended her finger and poked him exactly where he had poked her. He didn't react so she poked again and again, trying to find his weak spot. He squirmed when she hit a spot below his armpit.

"You know, you just declared war." Draco said and lunged for Ginny, tickling the hell out of her. Ginny tried to move away from him, but Hermione and Blaise, who were laughing so hard, pushed her right into Draco's waiting arms to be tickled again.

"Draco, please stop!" She squealed in his arms, making other people watch them in amusement.

"Not until you admit I'm hot, Weasley." He said, tickling her sides. Ginny squirmed in his arms, and tried pushing him unsuccessfully but a shove from Hermione got her falling to the ground with Draco on top of her. What a suggestive position. He continued to tickle her thought and she was furious that she couldn't tickle him back.

"I'll have my revenge, Malfoy!" Ginny said, in between her laughs.

"You sure will." He said, but paused, looking at the commentary box. A frown started appearing and he immediately got up and dashed off towards the Home Team stands. Ginny frowned. What's going on? Most of the people were on their feet and were looking down at something.

"Looks like Roger Davies will be out for some time, don't you think, Lee? The fall looked pretty bad and the medi-wizards are already checking him up. Oh wait, they're done. Looks like Davies will have to be removed from the pitch and sent to St. Mungo's. Sorry, United fans, looks like your star player is out for now."

"What's Mr. Malfoy going to do? He looked like he was having fun in the bleachers instead of the Home Team box." Mike said, and Ginny blushed again, having realised that she was watched.

"Looks like Goyle is sent of hooks with just a warning. The referee says Goyle will be banned once he commits another serious fowl." Lee said, frowning. "As long as Davies survives, Goyle is okay, or he will be charged with murder. That blow from the Bludger is definitely gonna leave marks on the young lad."

"Let's see, all the players are back on the pitch. Wait a minute, there's no substitute being placed for Roger Davies. Has Mr. Malfoy lost his mind?" Lee asked.

"Well, Puddlemere United has been dealing with an injury crisis since their relegation. I'm not surprised there is no substitute Chasers but is it really a wise choice for Mr. Malfoy to continue play with only six players with the weather rainy?" Mike said, as it started to rain.

"I don't know, Mike. Only time can tell. Right now, the scores are tied, 120-120. We'll have to wait and see who gets to the Snitch first. Angus Campbell, holding the fastest Snitch catch in history or Cedric Diggory, the most wanted Seeker. We'll know that soon when play resumes in 3, 2, 1!" Mike yelled as the referee blew his whistle.

"This is not good." Blaise muttered, once Ginny settled on her seat.

"Why? What's wrong?" Ginny and Hermione asked at the same time.

"Draco is furious."

"Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious, Mr. Obvious." Ginny said, sarcastically.

"No, the last time he didn't sub his players for an injury was during their last match in the Second Division against the Seaford Sorcerers. United won 500-180 after that. And to say that the Sorcerers were leading before the foul happened."

"So, it's a good thing?" Hermione asked. "Right?"

"It's good if they win. But this is the Montrose Magpies we're talking about, unbeaten for the last three years and almost impossible to tie with. If that happens, Draco will never forgive himself." Blaise said, all the gleam gone from his face.

"Don't worry. I'm sure you trust his decisions, right?" Hermione asked, placing a hand on his arm.

"Yeah, as long as it doesn't destroy him." Ginny noticed a certain emotion pass through Blaise's eyes, but it was gone as soon as it came.

"ZACHARIAS SMITH SCORES A DECADE!" Screamed Lee's voice. Ginny whirled her head to find Smith doing a victory dance, standing on his broom before resuming his seated position. Ginny shook her head. If he were to fall, Draco would probably kill everyone.

"That bumbling idiot. He should've fallen and he'd have known never to dance on a moving broom high in the air." Draco said, taking his seat beside Ginny.

"Are you okay, Draco?" Blaise asked, concerning showing in his face.

"Yeah, totally fine. You'll see Blaise; we're gonna win this bloody match. The Magpies' declared war by injuring Davies and so I shall grant them the sight of victory but never the taste of it." He said, and Ginny just noticed he was short-tempered and shifted uncomfortably in her seat. They watched the rest of the match in silence until the moment came where Diggory and Campbell went on head to head, and almost collided with each other, but the Snitch escaped their sight again. United were in lead with 260 points but if Campbell catches the Snitch, the Magpies will win. All eyes rested on Campbell's flying figure, waiting for him to declare the moment the Magpies win. Then Zacharias Smith scored twice, earning another Decade as well as breaking the record for most Decades scored in a game, which is now two, thanks to him. And then came the shocking moment.

"Here they go again, Diggory and Campbell. Who will reach the Snitch first? Amazing Diggory or Fantastic Campbell?" Both the commentators said. Someone yelled Fantastic Campbell from the bleachers but nobody bothered to even glance in his direction. Draco held his breath next to Ginny and she could feel the tension radiating from his body. He was a bit calmer after Smith scored two Decades but he was still tense. He couldn't let the Magpies win. That would ruin him.

Both the Seekers reached the Snitch at the same time. Even the Chasers stopped to watch the final moment. Flint held the Quaffle in his hand, flying dangerously close to the Magpies' goal post. Right when the bodily collision happened between Diggory and Campbell, he threw the Quaffle into the net, right under the Keepers nose. The two Seekers met each other with a heavy collision but they managed to stay on their brooms. The horn had sounded. Someone had caught the Snitch. But who was it?

Angus Campbell slowly lifted his hand. He was about to cheer when he opened his first and nothing was held inside. He punched the air in frustration. Cedric Diggory smiled behind Campbell, he held up his fist, smiling victoriously. Draco exhaled in relief. Inside Diggory's fist, fluttered the Golden Snitch.

A/N: This is what I planned for chapter 1 and I'm glad of the outcome. Thanks for reading.
