Chapter 4

It had been exactly 29 days since he had last seen Ginny. He felt ashamed of himself, to be truthful. He didn't want to make her angry but she had pried into his privacy and he was utterly violated even though it was a small thing. He felt sorry for Hermione and Blaise. They were the ones he had betrayed as he had promised he won't ruin their relationship.

It was Christmas morning and his mother had woken him up and gave him his present. Nothing from his father though, as usual. Then Blaise had come along, dragging him out of bed just like he does most of the time. Blaise, Hermione and he were going to make a visit to the Weasleys for lunch and he dreaded the visit. According to Hermione, it was a Weasley gathering, where all of Arthur and Molly's kids, plus Harry and Hermione gather for a certain event. In this case, it was Christmas. He didn't really mind stepping foot in the Burrow. The thing he feared was meeting Ginny. He wondered if she still remembers their fight. All he knew that he remembered her outburst and doesn't plan on getting on her bad side.

Draco straightened his coat. Inside, he was again, dressed in Muggle attire. Blaise and Hermione were in front of him, holding hands. Hermione lifted her other hand and knocked on the Burrow's door. Immediately it opened to reveal a smiling Fred. He quickly gave Hermione a one-armed hug and Draco saw Blaise tense up from the corner of his eye. Fred then proceeded to move away to let the pair go in and turned to look at Draco with his trademark smile.

"Hey Draco." He said, and offered him his hand.

"Hey Fred." Draco said, shaking Fred's outstretched hand. "I heard the whole red-head clan are here."

"Nah, it's just mum, dad and my siblings. If we were to take the whole clan in, we need a place bigger than Hogwarts."

"Like my Manor?" Draco asked, smirking.

"No way, mate. Your Manor is half the size of Hogwarts. Maybe the size of England would be a correct measurement." He said, and led Draco inside. Draco's heart was beating wildly and he feared that he would not be welcomed. But little did he know...

He met George Weasley immediately when he stepped inside. He was glaring at Draco, biting his lip hard. But before Draco could say anything, someone else greeted him.

"Ah, Draco, we were wondering when you'd show up." Asked an all too familiar voice.

"Aunt Andromeda?" Draco asked, shocked. He went over to the only other brunette in the room and awkwardly hugged her.

"I should feel grateful, my nephew remembers me." She said, smiling at him. "Teddy? Come here, sweetheart and meet your uncle." She said, to a little blue-haired boy who was talking to Charlie Weasley. The little boy ran towards his grandmother and looked shyly at Draco. It was evident that they had never met before.

Draco loved kids ever since he had gone to the park with Blaise and saw kids playing. He had no idea until then that he enjoyed seeing kids play. He kneeled down in front of Teddy and spoke to him.

"Hi, Teddy. I'm sure you've never seen me before. I'm Draco, your mother's cousin. You've heard of the Malfoys?" He asked, the little boy. Teddy slowly nodded and took a step closer.

"I'm one of the Malfoys, Teddy. And I hope you understand that we are not as bad as people say we are. So come and give your uncle a hug." Draco said, smiling at the boy. Teddy looked up at his grandmother, who nodded at him. Teddy took a couple of steps forward and hugged Draco. Draco hugged him back, and ruffled his hair. When he pulled away, he saw the boy run towards Charlie with whom he had been playing with. Draco stood up with a smile on his face.

"Glad to see he made acquaintance with you." Molly said.

"Mrs. Weasley." He said, and nodded curtly at her. "And what do you mean?"

"He doesn't mix well with the rest of us like he does with Charlie. But looks like he likes you as well." She said.

"Good to know. Thank you for having me, Mrs. Weasley."

"I can't say I like having you in my house. But Ginny wanted you to come, so you may thank her instead."

"Ginevra? She wan-" Draco started but got interrupted by Arthur.

"Finally! I get to meet the Quidditch manager everyone's been talking about." He said, offering his hand to Draco.

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Weasley. But I can't say I'm all that people's been talking about."

"Nonsense, Draco. Nobody's done that. Immediately getting a relegated team promoted as well as winning the Cup title, all in two seasons." Draco just smiled shyly under Mr. Weasley's gaze.

"Dad, stop! You're making him blush!" Said Bill, coming to his rescue, with a toddler in his hands. Draco went over to him.

"Is that Victoire?" Draco asked, looking at the girl. She smiled at Draco.

"Of course. Say hi to Uncle Draco." He told her.

"Hi uncle Dwaco." The girl said, and she hid her face on her father's shoulder, giggling

"She's very shy." Bill explained.

"I can see. Hi Victoire. You're very pretty." He said and earned another fit of giggles from her.

"Okay, party's over. I need my manager with me right now." Fred said, coming into the room and dragged Draco away before he could say anything.

"Make sure you both come down for lunch!" Molly yelled after him.

"I will mum." Fred grumbled under his breath.

"I don't think she heard that." Draco said, frowning while climbing up the stairs with him to his room.

"Oh, she did. It's mum. She hears everything." He said, closing the door to his room and bolted it.

"What's wrong, Fred?" Draco asked. Fred plopped down on his bed, across from George's and sighed, his face in his hands.

"Hermione." He said, and that was all Draco needed to know.

*TTW*

An hour later, Fred and Draco went down for lunch to find that everyone were already on their respectable seats. The last two seats were in between George and Ginny and opposite Charlie and Teddy. Fred immediately took the seat on George's left, leaving Draco seated in between Fred and Ginny. As if matters need to be worse, he thought. This was his first glimpse of Ginny since last month. He did hear her footsteps outside Fred's door but he only assumed it was her because Fred had mentioned that her room was opposite his.

"Hi Uncle Draco." Teddy smiled at him, showing his teeth.

"Hi Teddy." He said, smiling at the small boy opposite him. Minutes later, everyone was served by Molly. There were roast turkeys, potato salad and many other dishes. Draco has never been to a Christmas lunch like this before. It was his best. The all quickly dug in, ignoring their chatter. It was then that Draco noticed Harry Potter, who was seated at the end with Ron, opposite Blaise, which meant Hermione was opposite Ron. The rest of lunch was quite except for the quite chatter between Charlie, Victoire and Teddy. Draco pretty much ignored Ginny, thought their elbows did bump a lot.

The food was absolutely delicious. Draco kept praising Mrs Weasley after every bite he took. He never had had a meal like that in his entire life. Not even the Hogwarts' house-elves can match Mrs Weasley and her cooking.

After that, everyone moved to the living room. It was time to open the presents. Draco ended up on the floor next to Blaise and Harry. He greeted Harry with a simple Merry Christmas and Harry did the same. Draco had asked Hermione to place his presents under the Christmas Tree. He found it awkward to put presents under their tree, since he was not family. He only looked around at everyone opening their presents in glee. He felt a pat on his shoulder and turned to find Molly Weasley leaning over him. She handed him a wrapped package and Draco took it from her, muttering a word of gratitude.

He just stared at the package in front of him. He felt a nudge and turned to see Harry motioning for him to open it.

"Just open it, Malfoy." He said, and Draco did. He was speechless. Inside the package was a grey knitted sweater with the letter D in the front. He looked at Harry who just smiled. Everyone was smiling at him. It was silent. Draco quickly got up and hugged Molly.

"Thank you so much, Mrs. Weasley." He said. Molly just hugged him back with a smile. Draco knew. Ginny had once told him that if someone gets a Weasley sweater, then they're family. Draco was truly surprised. Then Teddy came over to him and hugged him, thanking him for getting him a toddler sized broom which Draco had made himself. Victoire got a magical doll, which can do whatever you say. Everyone got presents. And they all thanked Draco too. Except for Ginny. She hadn't said a word to him.

Soon, all the presents were opened and Draco was shocked to find that the sweater was indeed, not his only present. Everyone, minus Molly, Arthur and Andromeda went out to have a snow fight. There were two leaders, Bill and Charlie. Draco ended up on Charlie's team along with Teddy, Hermione, Fred, Percy and Harry. The rest were on Bill's. It seemed that Charlie's team were winning, because all of them except for Hermione had good aim.

Half way through though, he felt a hand on his arm and turned his head to find himself looking into a pair of brown eyes. It was George.

"We need to talk, Malfoy." He said, and Draco nodded following him into the house. They both made their way to Fred and George's room and left the others to their fun. Thankfully, they both were from different teams, so they had not unbalanced the teams.

"Sit down." He said, and to Draco it sounded like an order so he sat down sheepishly on Fred's bed. Of course, he could've out rightly refused but he didn't want to start a fight.

"What's wrong, George?" He asked, trying to sound friendly.

"Don't act like you don't know, Malfoy." He said, sounding a bit threatening.

"No, George I honestly don't know."

"You're steeling Fred away from me." Draco raised an eyebrow at that. George sighed, wiping a hand down his face and another on his hip. He looked like he hadn't slept in days.

"Fred has been a bit- distant. He doesn't talk us like he used to. But, he talks to you. And it seems like he only talks to you about everything. To me, it feels like he prefers you more than me. And I don't like it." He said. Ah, so that's the matter, Draco thought.

"And?" Draco asked, impatiently.

"What?"

"And what else? I don't think you're done with whatever you wanted to tell me."

"Well, Fred. He's been- He's been cutting. I saw the scars on his wrists. He's into some major depression, and I feel like a terrible twin because obviously he tells you everything but not me!" George said, raising his voice.

"Yes. He's depressed." Draco sighed.

"Then why doesn't he tell us? We can help him through it, dammit!" George yelled.

"That's why! He doesn't want to tell you. He doesn't want you helping him!" Draco yelled, matching George's voice.

"We're his family, Malfoy! We can help him more than you can."

"That's where you're wrong. No one can help him." Draco said firmly.

"Why?" George yelled again.

"Because the woman he loves is marrying another man! Think about it. Good day, George Weasley." He said and left him standing speechless. Then Draco shut the door only to run into Teddy.

"Careful, Teddy. Why are you running?" He asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm playing hide and seek. Now I have to find Vicky." He said, before running off. Just then, the door opposite opened.

"Teddy! What did I tell-" Ginny started but stopped when she saw Draco outside her door.

"Don't fret, Weasley. I was just going to-" Draco paused, looking down at his feet. They were stuck to the floor.

"What the hell?" Ginny said. Her feet too, were stuck the floor. They didn't know what was going on and they glared at each other until they heard a laughing voice.

"Well, whaddaya know. It actually worked." Fred drawled, twirling his wand in his hand.

"What did you do Fred? I'm telling mum, if you don't." Ginny said.

"Can't do, sugar. Look up and you can thank me later." He said, taking a step to his room. They looked up, and the mistletoe up there added tension to their already horrified expression.

"Fred, you will pay for this." Ginny said, her eyes narrowing.

"I already paid for that. It was 5 pounds. Have fun, mates."

"Yeah, have fun explaining to George." Draco said, before turning his attention to Ginny. Fred just shrugged and went into his room.

"I'm not kissing you, Malfoy." Ginny said, crossing her arms.

"Oh, you wound me, Weasley. Right here," He said, pointing to his heart. "I thought we had something for a moment there."

"Oh we did all right. It was called-"

"Sexual tension." Draco shrugged. If it was possible, Ginny blushed redder than a hot pepper in winter.

"You sicken me, Malfoy." She said, trying to turn away but couldn't.

"Oh, I'm sure you got it all wrong. Besides, what's one kiss going to do?" He asked, taking a step forward. They were nose to nose now. Ginny couldn't take a step back. It was part of the mistletoe's charm.

"I'm gonna scream." She said, trying to sound threatening. It just made her look cuter, Draco thought.

"No, you're not." He said, crossing his arms.

"Oh but I will."

"Wrong answer. Try again. You have one option. Kiss me." He said, putting on his trademark smirk. His eyes were a shade darker now, Ginny realised and if she kept looking into them, she would literally melt by his burning gaze. Suddenly the door behind them opened.

"I have option two." Fred said. "Kiss him." Draco didn't need Ginny talking anymore. He closed the distance between them right when Ginny opened her mouth to speak. Fred smiled, shaking his head and closed his door.

Her eyes widened in shock, feeling his warm moist lips on hers. Her brain gave her red signals to push him away. But that's when she realised, she didn't need to listen to them. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her closer. The other hand got tangled in her hair, playing with her red tresses.

Ginny was tingling all over. She had never been kissed before like this and she knew no one else can kiss her like Draco did. Their fight over a month ago was long forgotten. She just didn't have the courage to apologize to him and Draco didn't have the guts to confront her. She stared into his silver eyes, feeling mesmerized. She wasn't focusing on kissing him rather she was paying attention to his eyes. Those eyes of his had always captured her attention no matter.

He started sucking on her bottom lip and that's when Ginny lost all her demeanour. She ran her hands through his hair, pulling at them which got Draco growling. He yanked at her hair, dragging his lips away from hers and started sucking on her neck. She felt her toes curl.

Draco pulled away minutes later and she listened to herself moan in denial. She heard him chuckle and decided to hide her face in his chest, blushing red. They were both panting, breathless. In her position, she can hear his heart beating wildly in his chest.

"That was-"

"Amazing." She finished for him.

"Yes, amazing is the word." He smiled and sighed. "I'm sorry, Ginevra. I shouldn't have talked to you like that."

"It's all right," She said, smiling. "I forgot it a long time ago."

"Then why didn't you come?" He asked, confused.

"I was such a chicken." She said, making Draco laugh. She joined in with him.

"Did you get my present?" He asked, after taking a deep breath.

"Yeah, I did. It was beautiful." She said, and hugged him.

"Glad you liked it."

"I didn't say I liked it. I only said it was beautiful." She said, hitting him playfully on the chest.

"You're in denial." He said and smirked. "Where's my present?" He asked, jokingly.

"The sweater." She said, pulling away from him to see his expression.

"You mean-"

"I knitted it. I was just too cowardly to give it to you myself. I thought you were still mad at me."

"I couldn't be mad at you, Ginevra. I can never be mad at you." He said, kissing her forehead. "So? What did you think about the Malfoy and his kiss."

"I don't know. I've had better ones." She lied.

"In denial again, Ginevra. How about we continue what we started and then you can judge?" He asked, leaning forward again.

"Be my guest." She said, pulling him into her room and shutting the door.

If anyone heard closely, they would hear Fred laughing behind his door.
