A/N: This is going be an odd story, kind of like a collection of one-shots, but with the same characters. This of it like a collection of using the same characters in different points in their life.

Everything said will be relevant to characters and who they are, but each chapter may be a different genre, or a bit of a writing experiment. One week may be a collection poems, the next a flash back on the characters history.

This fanfic will be a little bit of experimental writing from me, inspired by shows like Space Dandy, Patlabor and Samurai Flamenco that could be completely different per story arc/episode.

As always, please read and review!

Chapter 1:

Regina began to drive with the sleeping blonde next to her, leaning against her. Still with the sheet wrapped firmly around her. Regina sighed, the woman looked so young like that. It reminded her, when she was a girl.

She'd pretend to sleep in the back of the car, when her mother would berate her father from behind the wheel. She sometimes feared that her mother never watched the road when she got like that and Regina would hold her seatbelt tightly, watching the window with half closed eyes.

Her father would simply agree with her mother. Head down, twisting his hands together, watching them, as if they were the most interesting thing in the world.

Regina hated when her mother got like that...never quiet yelling, but poisoning the air with that soft whisper that made her displeasure amplify. Polluting the atmosphere. Regina knew that every moment she breathed in that air, the more her mother's clutches seemed to constrict around her lungs.

She knew better to say anything though. So she just sit there and listened to the one-sided argument. Doing her best to disappear from view.

Cora looked up at the mirror, adjusting it to look at her little girl. She frowned, asleep again. Cora could never be sure if she was ever actually asleep or not any more. She could only hope that Regina hadn't heard that little spat.

Her husband was an imbecile. He wanted her daughter to waste away in front of the television all day.

She'd taken Regina to her Ballet classes and again the girl had cried out, she was only eight and already she was a handful.

They had a bad disagreement this time and Cora slapped the girl. Her small head had pivoted at the impact, leaving an angry hand print to the girls cheek.

Cora instantly regretted it when her daughter ran to the car crying.

This wasn't the first time that had happened and when Cora stopped the car they were home, at well past her daughter's bed time.

Her husband immediately scuffled to open Regina's door, but instead of lifting the girl as he always did, Cora stopped him.

He was about to refuse, until he saw the look in her eye. So instead he quickly walked to door and left.

Regina tensed. Scared.

Cora gently picked the girl. "You've grown so much, so quickly." The woman smiled sadly. "I don't even remember you getting to big."

Regina just closed her eyes tighter and Cora merely chuckled.

Kissing the top of her daughters head. She pulled her close to her chest, and Regina was soothed by her heartbeat. Calming slightly, she shifted closer. Cora gave a wistful smile as she closed the car door.

She carried her to the girls room. Taking both their shoes off, she just lay there, holding her daughter. Wishing it wouldn't end and that it could always be like this...instead of how to was.

Regina just looked ahead, as the Emma snuggled closer. When they got to a red light Regina merely paused and kissed the young woman on the head. Reminded of a time, when she was held in a rather similar way.

As the light went green she sped up, until the city blurred away into another memory.
