Chapter 10 Zoe's Struggling Life
Davis was on top of his roof looking into the sky relaxing til he went to go train.
"Nice day today." Davis sighed.
"Hey Davis, time to go." Volt said getting on the roof with his book in the back pocket of his mantle behind him.
"Alright." Davis said.
"Today we'll light up our day with tremendous force." Volt said raising up his right fist.
"You know what you just said reminded me of Fango." Davis said as he stood up.
"Yeah, I wonder how he and Zoe are doing? And if they're training just as much and hard as we are." Volt said.
"Knowing them they probably are. Did you know if two strong opponents exchange blows to each other you find out about one another?"
"Yeah I noticed that first hand and I can tell Fango is extremely powerful. It was a shock for me to find out we were the same level of power."
"That just shows how strong you are. Though you got to wonder how you got that way in the first place."
"Maybe its another thing that leads to my past."
"Ugh anymore leads and Im gonna get annoyed."
"Tell me about it."
Davis and Volt jumped off the roof landed on the street and started walking to their training grounds to begin getting stronger.

Somewhere else deep in a jungle was Fango standing in a swamp with his hands in his pockets face to face with a gaint alligator.
"I dont like this." Fango muttered as the alligator ran up to Fango. "And I dont like you." Fango leered and pulled out his right fist and uppercutted the alligator hard under the chin instantly killing it. "Never bare your fangs at me."
Away from there was Zoe who was sitting under a tree holding her legs and looking at the fire deep in thought.
"I wont stop til this battle ends. Im comming for you Takuya." Zoe thought.
"Zoe." Fango said making her look at him as she saw him caryring the alligator with the head over Fango's with the mouth open.
That however had Zoe end up screaming her head off.

"Why are you cooking it? You get more strength eating it raw, foolish girl."
"Just back the hell off Fango! Im doing the best I can here!"
Fango was eating at the alligator's left side of his body as Zoe was cooking a portion of it on a bone over a fire being hold by sticks.
"Besides I asked for a fish, so why did you bring me a nasty ass old alligator?" Zoe asked pointing at it with her right finger.
"Blame him. He was the one who stuck his fangs in my face." Fango said gulping down what was in his mouth.
"Whatever." Zoe sighed looking back at her food.
"Eat something. If you dont eat some meat and get some strength, you'll be weak against the enemy." Fango said going back to eating.
"Dont you worry about me, I'll be strong enough to fight ok." Zoe said grabbing her food.
"You better be." Fango said bitting the alligator's head off from the nose and started munching.
"Oh gross." Zoe thought eating her food.
After awhile Fango got done with his food as the skeleton of the alligator was beside him as he was chewing on the bone in his mouth sitting down crisscrossed with his arms over his chest with Zoe still eating.
"Zoe we should'nt be wasting our time out here looking for the enemy."
"Why not?"
"Because the weak ones will disappear on there own. We should train and gain strength for the important battles ahead of us."
"Tell me Fango, have you been avoiding fighting these days on purpose?"
"No, but it seems I cant catch the enemy so easily now. Which means the weak are getting stronger. But there are still many who fear me. Who fear the wrath of Fango."
"Yes, Im sure they do. Now lets go."
Zoe finished her food got up with Fango doing the same spitting out the bone putting his hands in his pockets and began walking off, he then looked behind him to see Zoe walking but then put her left hand on a tree to support herself.
"Look at her she can hardly walk." Fango thought. "Its a curse to team up with such weak humans in battle. I would be king by now if I could fight alone. We've been moving for three days and nights without sleep. At least the human girl's on her feet." Fango and Zoe have been walking over trees between ledges, cross hot grounds, and slide down on rocky pathways as Fango took the lead with Zoe following.
"She has a drive I never seen in her kind before. She must really want to end this battle." Fango looked back at Zoe was she was walking.
"Takuya. Takuya. Takuya. Takuya!" Zoe thought.

"Jackson stop the car!" The driver stopped the limo beside a store near an alley as Zoe got out of the car and ran towards three boys who were beating up someone. "Takuya!" Zoe shouted.
"Oh man its Zoe Orimoto the billionaire's daughter!" One of them said.
"Quick lets get out of here!" Another said as they started running away.
When Zoe got there she growled til she looked at the boy leaning against the wall.
"You ok Takuya?" Zoe asked kneeling down.
Leaning up against the wall was a 13 year old boy named Takuya Kanbara he was wearing a red sweater, brown pants, and orange shoes having bruises all over his body.
"Yeah they just pushed me around a little." Takuya smiled rubbing his right cheek.
"Why?" Zoe asked.
"They said that I stole from the fruit vender." Takuya said.
"Those liers." Zoe growled about to get up.
"No its ok Zoe. Im use to it." Takuya smiled. "I've been judged by everyone in this town my whole life. I'll never be good enough in their eyes." Takuya looked up in the sky. "I'd rather be spending my time working hard for school."
Zoe put her hands on Takuya's shoulders making him look at her.
"As long as we're together, I wont let anything happen to you." Zoe said.
"Thanks Zoe. Nor I you." Takuya said.
They leaned in and kissed each other softly.

"Jackson bring me some tea." Zoe sighed.
"What's wrong Ms. Zoe?" Jackson asked. "Are you still upset about Takuya?"
Zoe was in her mansion sitting at the dinning room table as a 40 year old man with long tan hair and mustache beard combo with red eyes wearing a butler suit brought Zoe some tea setting it down in front of her.
"Why cant they see him for a wonderful person he is? They treat him just like a criminal just because he's poor. Its just not fair." Zoe said.
"Yes Takuya is a very special boy. He helped you once and to doing so he.." Jackson said.
"That's right because of him Im here today. He's the best thing I ever had and I would'nt know what to do without him." Zoe sighed then looked at Jackson. "Have..Have I ever told you this story? The words he said when he saved me when I fell into the river?"
"Of course you have. You tell me all the time." Jackson said chuckling as Zoe blushed in embarassment.
"Is that so?" Zoe asked drinking her tea.
"Those are words that will resonate in my heart forever. Mr. Takuya is a wonderful soul, Im glad he's taking his first steps towards happiness." Jackson smiled.
"What?" Zoe asked.
"Yes, dont you know? I just heard he got a full scholarship to a great university he can attend to when he's older." Jackson said as Zoe smiled greatly.
"Well lets hurry then Jackson. I want to congradulate Takuya." Zoe said as she and Jackson got in the limo and was driving off.
"He'll still be accepted even if we dont get a speeding ticket." Jackson laughed at Zoe.
"I cant believe he actually got accepted." Zoe smiled happily.
"Yes I believe Mr. Takuya is destined for great things." Jackson smiled.
However when they got to the university they saw it was on fire.
"What the?" Jackson asked in shock.
Zoe got an image of Takuya in her head.
"Takuya!" Zoe rushed at down the hill towards the university.
"Ms. Zoe no!" Jackson shouted for her but she was already for ahead.
When Zoe got in she saw every building on fire as she desperately looked around for Tayuka til she saw him standing in front of a burning house.
"Takuya!" Zoe shouted for him making him turn around as he was smiling.
"Zoe look at what I did, is'nt it all so cool?" Takuya asked shocking Zoe as Takuya pulled out a crimson spellbook in his right hand as it glowed. "Zadome!" Takuya shouted.
A dark figure on Takuya's right fired a black energy ball past Zoe as it smashed into a building behind her.
"Is'nt it great I have powers. Now I can finally avenge myself for all the pain and suffering I went under." Takuya said.
"What are you talking about? Your suppose to be looking at this college so you could start a new life in the future." Zoe said.
"I dont care Zoe. As long as I have this power nobody in this whole wide world will ever hurt me again. Dont you see?"
"This is not what we discussed. Pain and destruction was'nt part of your dreams. You wanted to be happy you wanted to be.."
"Zoe, I am happy, now Im free."
Zoe gasped as what Takuya was saying.
"Takuya.." Zoe breathed til she heard chuckling from the figure next to Takuya. "This is all your fault! What did you do to make him like this!" Zoe shouted at the figure.
"Oh nothing really I just changed what was inside of his heart. I let the pain he's always felt take over and control his heart. It was'nt difficult to do with my powers." The figure then zoomed up to Zoe and was floating in front of her when Zoe got a good look at it she saw it was a girl with short gold hair wearing a white robe having six angel wings on her back.
"For I am Doomis the Lucemon and out of the hundred Digimon only I will become king." Doomis grinned grabbing her right hand under her chin.
"What is she saying?" Zoe asked.
"This is an enjoyable game, manipulating the human heart." Doomis looked to the left at Takuya out the corner of her eye. "At first Takuya was'nt interested in joining me and my quest for power. That is until I released his heart, now the hate he feels will help lead us to victory."
"Its a lie, its not true. Please Takuya tell me its not true!" Zoe pleaded looking at him.
"Zoe I did all this with my new powers! Now no one can ever hurt me again!" Tayuka smiled waving out his arms.
"Why are you doing this?" Zoe asked Doomis as tears came down her face.
"Young lady I live for only one thing to become king. In order to do that I need a human counter part. With your boyfriend I'll win the battle." Doomis grinned evilly floating back to Takuya's side.
"Zoe you must not stand in my way, cause if you do, I will destroy you." Takuya said making more tears come down Zoe's face. "Im telling you for the last time, I wont lose this power!"
"Takuya.." Zoe put her head down covering her eyes with her hair as Takuya's book glowed.
"Goodbye Zoe." Takuya said.
"Zoe."

Zoe was brought out of her flashback hearing Fango's voice as she wiped her eyes with her right arm and looked at her Digimon in front of her who had his back to her.
"What is it?"
"I found them."
Just behind a tree was a black 13 year old boy with black shaggy hair wearing a green long sleeved shirt and pants with black shoes and beside him was someon that looked like a puppet with a bullet barrel hammer, the boy had a brown book as they ran away.
"They're weak opponents who will either run or hide, what do you want to do?" Fango asked.
"Hunt them down." Zoe said pulling out her book from the white bag around her right shoulder to her left hip with her right hand. "And then show them no mercy. Then finally grab their book and burn it." Fango and Zoe started chasing their targets. "I'll do whatever it takes to end this battle. Whatever it takes!"

Back in Japan Davis and Volt got done with their training for the day and they stunk like a fusion of garbage and skunk oder so when they got home that afternoon Gina immediately made them take a bath while she washed their clothes.
"Honestly what do you guys be doing to make you stink so bad?" Jun asked outside the bathroom.
"That's our secret Jun!" Davis said as he was leaning back against the foot of the tub that was full of bubbbles.
"Yeah Jun, one we dont plan on sharing for awhile." Volt said leaning over the rim with his arms crossed.
"If you two say so." Jun said as she was heard walking away.
Both boys sighed at the feeling of the bubbles on their sore muscles of another hard day of training hard to become stronger.
"Man what a day." Davis sighed.
"Yeah another day of training hard, another day of getting stronger." Volt sighed.
"But for now we relax." Both boys said as they enjoyed their bath.

"Haoace!"
An explosion went off in the forest making smoke appear when it cleared Fango and Zoe were standing in front of the cowering teen and puppet.
"Now hand over the book. If you dont I'll have to take it by force." Zoe said.
"No blondie you cant have it." The guy said clutching on the book with his hands. "This book gives me power, and with it I'll become even more powerful! Puppetmon!" The guy said opening the book as it glowed.
"Got it Max!" Puppetmon shouted.
"Muran!" Max shouted.
From the ground four wooden spike vines came out and rushed at Fango and Zoe.
"Forceai!" Zoe shouted.
Fango's right hand glowed white as the Puppetmon's attack and were pushed down to the ground by Fango's light gravity scaring Max and Puppetmon.
"Haoace!" Zoe shouted.
Fango fired his attack hitting them both as they fell on the ground.
"Their power is no match for us." Zoe said.
"What is she waiting for?" Fango wondered noticing out the corner of his eye Zoe was breathing hard.
"Dont be stupid! Hand over the book!" Zoe shouted.
"Never, never, never. I wont! Stumpusai!" Max shouted.
Puppetmon slammed his pummel to the ground making 10 tree monsters sprout out as they roared at Fango and Zoe.
"Do your thing tree warriors. Leruk!" Max shouted.
"What's this?" Fango asked and noticed the two tree monsters in front of Max and Puppetmon were covering them with leaves. "Those fools are hiding. Zoe launch a Gigano Haoace and blow them away once and for all!" Fango shouted but nothing happend. "What's the matter hurry up and launch the spell."
Zoe instead fell to the ground face first making Fango turn around to look at her.
"Zoe!" Fango shouted. "Ugh and at such a critical time."
The tree monsters grew their arms to Fango attacking him but he looked back and started slashing them away.
"Haha! Hey blondie is looks like your not so tough after all!" Max laughed as he watched Fango continue to fend off against the tree. "Haha how long can you fight without the spells dude?!"
A tree went to punch Fango but he brought up his right arm blocking it making him skidded back slightly.
"Zoe what's the matter? Are you giving up?!" Fango asked looking back at her.
"This is nothing." Zoe growled pushing herself up by her arms. "Compared to that other pain, this is nothing!"

"Enough!" Shouted a 25 year old women with long blonde hair wearing a fancy blue dress that went to her ankles black heels and glasses on her face at a 5 year old Zoe who was wearing a white long sleeved shirt a pink sleevless dress and white shoes for failing in playing the right note on a piano again making her stop and look in fear at her mother.
"Zoe your playing is a total embarrasment!" The mother shouted.
"Im sorry mother." Zoe said looking down.
"Start again I want another six hours at that piano." The mother said sternly.
"But why, I've been practicing all day." Zoe said.
"Be quite!" The mother shouted making Zoe flinch. "You are going to practice all night if you have to! You are a member of the Orimoto family and I will not have you embarrass us with your lazyness and bring shame to our family name! You will do without sleep until you get it right!"
"Alright mother." Zoe said lowering her head.
It was another day and Zoe was working on her math til her mother put her hand over it making Zoe shake and close her eyes.
"Why cant you understand a simple problem?!" The mother asked.
Another day and Zoe was working on her dancing but missed a footing and fell over.
"You are not trying hard enough young lady!" The mother shouted.
The scene then changed in the family room as the mother was sitting in a chair facing away from Zoe who was standing in front of her.
"Zoe you continue to dissapoint me. What will it take for you to understand this family will not except failure?" The mother asked shaking her shoulders.
"Im sorry mother." Zoe apologized.
"Oh why did I have such a foolish child?!" The mother asked turning to Zoe making her open her eyes in shock.
"Now I understand. I should never have been born. That's why mother hates me." Zoe thought crying tears comming down her face as she was standing over a bridge with the water down below raging at it was raining. "I dont want to hurt like this anymore. Nothing will make the pain go away."

Zoe got on her hands and knees as Fango was still slashing against the trees' punches.
"Hey Digimon with blondie down you dont stand a chance against us." Max smirked.
"This is getting annoying. If we knew where they were we could put an end this nonsense." Fango growled.
"We dont need to know their position." Zoe said getting to her feet but still bending down on her knee with her left hand. "Im ready to defeat them."
"Zoe?" Fango asked looking at her as she rose up higher.

"What were you doing on that side of the railing? Didn't you realize it was slippery? You could've drowned." Said a 4 year old Takuya who was wearing a red short sleeved shirt, blue shorts, and black shoes as he was holding Zoe by her shoulders who had her head down as they were in the grass next to the river.
"I guess I just was'nt paying attention." Zoe said her voice emotionless having no life in her eyes.
"But you must!" Takuya shouted making Zoe look at him. "What if something happend? You would never get the chance to find true happiness!"
"But I just dont understand. What happiness?" Zoe asked.
"I know you cant see it now, but trust me it is there waiting for you. Like the light at the end of a dark tunnel." Zoe looked at Takuya was little life returning. "Right now its scary and you dont know which way to go, but there's always an opening, a way out if you just keep walking through the darkness then you'll find the light." Takuya smiled warmly as her as the life in Zoe's eyes returned fully with her looking at Takuya.
"You just cant stop now or the happiness that wait for you will be lost forever." Takuya cried smiling at her with Zoe doing the same as she cried and smiled warmly at Takuya.

"That's right Takuya, we'll find happiness!" Zoe shouted as she fully stood up and roared with her head raised at the sky. "Both your's and mine happiness cant be taken away by this battle with the Digimon!" Zoe then lowered her head looking at the ground. "Takuya, if you walked into the darkness again, then I will walk into it too." Zoe opened up her book.
"Haha! Finish them!" Max shouted with Puppetmon chuckling as the tree monsters jumped up in the air to stomp on Zoe and Fango.
"You'll see Takuya the light you saved me with will not be wasted! Im gonna do everything in my power to bring you back!" Zoe shouted as her book glowed brightly. "Ion Forceai!"
Light energy surrounded the tree monsters pushing them down on the ground shocking and scaring Max and Puppetmon.
"This time its my turn Takuya! I'll be the one to save you! If its the last thing I ever do!" Zoe shouted with her book glowing even more brighter. "Fango clear out the surrounding area!"
Fango put his left hand on his right arm and moved his arm to the left flattening the trees in the way as he slowly turned around with Ion Forceai doing the same with Zoe shouting, when it was done a giant circle was in the middle of the forrest with the trees crushed leaving only the dirt in it place.
Fango walked to Max and Puppetmon seeing them lying on the ground on their backs groaning in extreme pain.
"Huh, they're still alive." Fango scuffed as he bended down and picked up their book with his right hand. "I dont understand it. With all this power, why have'nt you destroyed these cretans?" Fango asked looking at the book. "Why are you limiting your power? Or are you simply afraid to unleash it? Lets burn the book, cast me the spell now." Fango turned to Zoe but she was lying down on the ground. "Zoe?"
"Im sorry Fango. I need to rest. You saved me again." Zoe whispered.

"Goodbye Zoe." Takuya said.
"Dont do this Takuya!" Zoe pleaded looking at him.
"Zadome!" Takuya shouted.
Doomis fired her dark energy ball attack at Zoe creating an explosion around where Zoe was.
"Come on lets go." Takuya smiled chuckling as he closed the book.
"Yes, lets." Doomis said.
As they walked off the smoke were the blast hit was starting to clear when it did Zoe was intact having her hands over her head on her knees.
"It was'nt your time." Someone said.
"Huh?" Zoe asked looking at the floor as a black book was thrown in front of her.
"For you." Zoe looked up to see Fango who was facing her with his hands in his pockets as his back took the attack with smoke comming off it. "Try reading that book."

"That was the first time you saved me." Zoe thought slipping into unconsiousness.
"She's got a fever." Fango said checking her forehead with his left hand as he stood back up over her. "I cant believe she's sick." Fango took off his scarf as it changed and expanded into a cover verison of his scarf as he put it over Zoe's body, he then picked her up and put Zoe over his back and carried her off as Fango walked.
"In this battle for the Digimon King why must I be teamed up with a weak human like her?" Fango wondered as he walked in a distance.

Back at Davis' house Davis in his nightwear was sitting on the couch with Volt sitting on the arm both watching tv til they heard the heard phone ring and being picked up.
"Hello? Yeah he's right here. Davis phone for you someone named Orimoto." Jun said getting both Davis and Volt attention.
"Zoe." Davis thought as he went to the phone with Volt hanging on his shoulder and picked it up. "Hey Zoe."
"Hello Davis its nice to hear from you after awhile." Zoe smiled as she was laying down in bed wearing a pink nightgown.
"So that did you want to talk about?" Davis asked.
"I wanted to tell you why Im in this fight for the Digimon King."
"Im all ears and willing to listen."
Zoe told Davis of her childhood of how she grew up with a horrible over achieving mother who expected too much of her til she meet a boy named Takuya and they became best friends til the age of 8 and they became boyfriend and girlfriend. Though life for both grew hard they always managed to have each other til a Digimon named Doomis came and brainwashed Takuya to be her partner for the fight of the Digimon King. As Doomis tried to destroy Zoe Fango came and saved her and they have been a team ever since to try and save Takuya from Doomis.
"Wow that's some life story." Davis said stunned.
"No kidding." Volt nodded in agreement.
"Yes, though at first Fango threatend to kill my butler if I didn't work with him only for me to threaten my life since he needed me to read his book." Zoe giggled.
"Way to negotiate Zoe." Davis chuckled while Volt's mouth was open at what he just heard.
"Davis I was wondering if you would help me in finding Doomis and getting Takuya back. You and Volt are the only ones I can truly trust to help me." Zoe asked.
"Sure Zoe you can count of us." Davis said.
"That's right." Volt said.
"Thank you both." Zoe smiled hanging up as did Davis.
"Well whaddya think?" Volt asked Davis.
"I say when we encounter this Doomis we'll make him regret playing with Zoe and Takuya's hearts." Davis said.
