Chapter 12 The Cat and the Popstar
In front of a studio people were gathered all around for the conert that was taking place in the crowd was Davis, Yolie, and Volt as they were walking towards the entrance.
"Im so excited to actually be seeing one of Kari's concerts! She's my idol!" Yolie squealed.
"This will be my first concert." Davis mussed.
"Dont worry Davis Im sure it'll be awesome!" Volt smiled making Davis smiled too.
"Excuse me." A security guard said catching the three's attention. "But pets are'nt allowed to enter the concert."
"Hey Im not a pet Im wearing a costume!" Volt shouted.
"Oh well Im sorry about that. But you'll have to either lose the costume or no concert." The guard said.
Volt looked at Davis with a sad expression knowing they were in trouble.
"Sorry pal looks like we cant take you with us." Davis said. "Try the backdoor I'll meet you inside." He whispered in Volt's ear as Yolie heard the whole thing.
"Ok Davis." Volt sighed jumping off him. "You and Yolie have fun at the concert." Volt said walking off.
"Sorry little guy." The guard said after him as Davis and Yolie went in.
"Sucker." Davis and Volt grinned as Volt made his way to the back entrance.

Inside the studio in a dressing room a conversation was going on.
"Im sorry Anna the Gatomon but its just too risky. The concert's off." Said a 13 year old girl named Kari Kamiya wearing a light green short sleeved princess dress with white gloves that go to her elbows red heels and a crown on her head as she sat down in a chair.
"Will you please stop saying things like that?" Asked a white cat wearing yellow cat gloves on her paws with a white watch on the right wrist while she was wearing a pink skirt that went to her ankles and a red short sleeved shirt with a white bow on her chest having a red jewel in the center. "I told you there's nothing to worry about didn't I? I'll make sure the Digimon that's after us does'nt cause any trouble you just leave it to me."
"Anna.." Kari sighed.
"Look betraying your fans is'nt gonna solve anything. They all ador you you cant let them down, your job is to lift peoples spirits with your songs right? Is'nt that why you became a singer? Well now's your chance to do it, you cant let that Digimon that's chasing us ruin it for your fans." Anna pouted while Kari turned her head plugging her ears with her fingers.
"But Anna if anything happens during the show.." Kari said until Anna started pouting harder making her sigh. "Fine. I'll just have to hope nothing goes wrong."
"Yeah that's the spirit. You go girl." Anna winked putting her hands on her hips til Kari sighed looking at the ground. "What's wrong?" Anna asked tilting her head.
"Well I wish the Digimon chasing us right now was that little outcast you told me about Volt Bell." Kari said looking at Anna making her smile.
"So do I. Volt is such a loser I can beat him one paw tied behind by back." Anna smirked raising up her right paw.
"Not that Anna. Maybe Volt can be a friend and help us." Kari smiled til she saw the dark look Anna was giving as she was growling. "I understand in this fight there are no friends only enemies." Kari said looked away crossing her arms.
"That's right every Digimon's an enemy. Even the ones that use to be good friends." Anna said looking down at the ground showing a scar on the back of her neck. "And when its over, the only one left will be the one stronger to defeat the others!" Anna growled then huffed turning her head. "But the one that will be the winner sure is'nt gonna be that little weakling Volt who could'nt fight his way out of a wet paperbag. He probably got sent back to the Digimon World a long time ago."

Outside of the studio two figures walked up one being a 30 years old man wearing a tan tuxedo with wavy brown hair eyes and a goatee having a dark purple book in his right arm while the other one was what appeared to be a wizard in a purple cloak wearing a purple hat with a skull on it.
"This is the place Brad." The wizard said.
"Finding a Digimon is so much easier when their partner is a famous singer. Eh Maguc the Wizardmon?" Brad asked smiling.
"Yeah." Maguc smirked.

"Kari your on!" Someone shouted on the other side of the door as Kari got up and went to the door.
"Hey Kari." Anna said catching Kari's attention making her look back at Anna. "Good luck." Anna smiled.
"With no allies surrounded by enemies I have to smile at the audience and pretend like nothing is wrong." Kari thought looking at Anna then turned and left the room. "Our power can only be used to defend ourselves. Our attacks are so weak they're useless, in order to survive we've had to run away." Kari thought about all the times Anna has taken some hits for Kari and has gotten into bad shapes because of it. "That girl is so brave." Kari closed her eyes as a lone tear fell down her cheek. "Keep it together Kari if your not happy on stage Anna will be really mad at me." Kari went on stage where she saw the audience put on a fake smile and thanking everyone for being here and started singing.

People started shouting and going crazy while Davis looked at Yolie and noticed she had hearts in her eyes as well as going crazy.
"Man so this is what its like to be idolized huh?" Davis asked. He then noticed that Volt has'nt shown up yet but figured he would.

Back near the dressing room Anna was standing there as she heard as the concert began.
"Sounds like the shows began." Anna smiled. "Well looks like I should get to work." Anna looked at the back door. "If they come through the back door I'll lead them as far away from the studio as I can. That way no one will mess up Kari's concert." Anna smiled slowly began to leave her face. "I wonder if I'll be able to get away?"
"If Volt was the one chasing us maybe he'll be our friend and help us." Anna heard Kari's words play through her head.
"Not a chance." Anna sighed looking up. "How can a wimpy guy like Volt be any use to anyone? He's so hopeless using his own spells make him pass out." Anna remember how Volt used his spells and passed out with other Digimon laughing at him. "And then if you tease him for being such a wimp he runs away crying like a baby."
"Besides in this battle there's no such thing as a friend. No one helps anyone else." Anna began to tear up when she remember when she was betrayed.

It was night time in the middle of the ocean on a cruise ship where we see Anna wearing a pink backpack looking at the backs of Maguc and Brad.
"Maguc is that really you?" Anna smiled. "Its me Anna Im glad I found one of my friends."
"And Im glad to see you again." Maguc chuckled.
"Yeah. I've been lonely ever since I got here, and I have'nt found my human partner yet." Anna said.
"Really?" Maguc turned around and raised his right hand.
"Huh? Maguc what's wrong?" Anna asked confused.

"Back in the Digimon World Maguc and I were good friends but then we were sent here and everything changed. As soon as the battle began to determine which Digimon would become king everyone started betraying everyone else. In this battle the only one I can trust it Kari." Anna looked at the ground.
The backdoor knob jiggled catching her attention as she gasped in alarm.
"He's here." Anna thought getting ready. "We were such good friends and just like that he betrayed me. Well Im not gonna let him get away with it."
The door opened and Volt walked through it.
"Ok looks like Im in." Volt smiled til he noticed Anna as she had a shocked look on her face. "A Digimon here in the studio?"
Just then Anna yelled and charged at Volt surprising him as she tried to grab his neck but he jumped over her out the way but she grabbed his right leg and pulled him to the floor. Anna then jumped on Volt and began chocking him.
"So now your after me is that it Volt?! Well when Im through with you you'll wish you never found a way in here!" Anna shouted tighting her grip.
"What are you talking about?! I just came in here to see the show!" Volt shouted at her. "Man does this cat have a strong grip!"
"Wait you came here to see Kari?" Anna asked getting off Volt as she sat on her knees while Volt got up rubbing his neck.
"Yeah I snuck in so I could met up with my friend Davis." Volt coughed.
"Look Volt, that is your name right?" Anna asked.
"Yeah Volt Bell. What a minute how do you know? I never told you my name." Volt said looking at Anna.
"Im Anna remember?"
"Who?"
"You dont remember me?"
"Sorry Im afraid not."
It was silent for a few minutes.
Until Anna glared at Volt and went to grab him again but Volt jumped over her landing behind her as Anna turned and looked at Volt.
"You got a lot of nerve forgetting someone who use to bully you!" Anna shouted.
"What is with you?! And besides you dont understand its not just you I dont remember anything of where I came from! I lost my memory!" Volt shouted then his eyes went wide. "Im sensing another Digimon, and its close!"
"Huh? But if you dont remember anything then you dont even remember why.." Anna said.
But chuckling was heard behind her making Anna gasp as she turned around and saw Maguc and Brad standing near the door smirking.
"Well Anna I finally found you." Maguc chuckled.
"Maguc." Anna breathed.
"Your partner's on stage and the show wont be over for quite awhile. Which means at the moment your spell are totally useless." Maguc smirked as Anna was about to run. "Go on ahead and run Anna I dont care. But if you do run I'll attack those fans." That made Anna stop as she looked at Maguc.
"No not that leave them alone." Anna said.
"The last time we meet you got away which was really annoying. But you wont escape this time. We're gonna defeat you here and now." Maguc said.
"It looks like these they know each other and not in the friendly way." Volt thought staying quite watching what was gonna happen.
"Then promise that if you defeat me you'll leave Kari alone and let her do the show." Anna pleaded holding her chest. "Kari is my friend she's fought for me, risked her life for me. So please Im begging you." Anna said as tears came down her eyes.
Behind her Volt eyes softend at what Anna was trying to do for her friend.
"Your begging me? How very touching." Maguc smirked raising his right hand. "Well in that case their gonna be a slight change in plans."
Anna gasped at what Maguc said.
"Im gonna take my time destroying you and Im gonna enjoy every minute of it. And once Im done with you I'll wreak havoc in that stadium it'll be empty in no time." Maguc sneered.
"No dont!" Anna shouted closing her eyes.
"Magon!" Brad shouted as a spiky metal weapon came out of Maguc's hand and rushed at Anna who expected pain but didn't get it so she opened her eyes and saw the back of Volt as he was holding the attack with his arms trying to not let it hit Anna.
"Volt." Anna gasped in shock. "Why Volt?"
"There's a guy... ugh.. named Davis.. ugh... in the audience." Volt groaned holding back the attack. "He's.. uragh.. got my book. Go find him! Ugh! I'll hold them off til you get back!"
"Hey I know that voice. Is that you Volt?" Maguc asked. "Well well so your here too. Then its really lucky for me." Maguc chuckled. "I'll squash you like a bug you weakling!"
"Volt its no good it wont work your not strong enough his spell is too powerful." Anna thought.
"The person.. whose giving the concert... is your friend right?" Volt asked turning his head to look at her. "What about her and all the other people out there?"
"In this battle there's no friends no one helps anyone." Anna thought as more tears came down her face.
"What are you doing?! Go! Find Davis I'll hold them here!" Volt shouted.
"No friends, no one to help!" Anna closed her eyes then turned around and ran. "I'll bring him back as fast as I can!" Anna shouted running off.
"He's sitting in row L! Number 18!" Volt shouted turning his back back to Maguc's attack.
"I got it!" Anna shouted.
"How dare you try to interfer!" Maguc shouted as he lifted up his attacks making Volt go up in the air and slammed it back into him but he grabbed it back in his arms and held it as he landed back on his feet. "What?" Maguc asked.
"Like I said your not going anywhere!" Volt smirked making Maguc growl.

Anna was running through the halls trying to make her way to the stands.
"This guy Davis must be Volt's partner I got to find him!" Anna opened the door and saw the audience.

"Maguc?" Anna asked as she backed up from the spot where Maguc launched a Magon at her feet. "Why attack me Maguc? We're friends are'nt we?"
"Friends ha!" Maguc laughed.
"But.." Anna breathed.
"Dont make me laugh. Remember what we were told before being sent here? Only one of us can be king. The one only to be standing at the end of the battle, is the one who remains undefeated." Maguc then gave Anna a evil smiled and look. "This battle is'nt about being nice to your friends its about eliminating them by doing whatever is neccesary!"
"And now its my turn is that it?!" Anna growled.
"Exactly. Without a human partner you cant even use your spells to defend yourself." Maguc smirked. "Thanks for making it so easy I hate it when weakling fight back!" Anna growled more as tears came down. "The moment you began to trust me was the moment you lost the battle, Anna."
Anna turned around and started to run.
"Magon!" Brad shouted.
Maguc fired his attack as it hit Anna's back making her fall off the ship and into the water.

"The moment I trusted Maguc was the moment I lost the battle." Anna thought looking at the floor.
"You gotta find Davis he can help us!" Volt words echoed in Anna's head.
"Is Volt telling me the truth? Can I trust him or is he gonna betray me too?" Anna thought.
"By doing whatever is neccesary." Maguc's words echoed.
Anna pushed both door until they closed.

"Stick around there's more!" Kari shouted as she went backstage with the curtain closing as she was told she did a good job.
"You only got a few more minutes til your next song." A guy said.
"Right." Kari smiled nodding her head she then looked at the backdoor of the stage and saw Anna standing there. "Its Anna." Kari said as her smiled vanished. "And she's got the book with her!" Kari noticed the pink spell book in her arms and ran towards her.

"So the enemy did show up didn't they?" Kari asked as she and Anna were running back to where she left Volt and Maguc.
"Im sorry Kari, Im really sorry." Anna said.
When they got there they saw Volt still holding off Maguc's attack as he skid back landing on his left knee huffing and puffing having scars and brusies all over his body but still ok with Maguc's Magon dissappearing.
"Volt!" Anna shouted making him turn his head and look at her and Kari.
"So this is Volt?" Kari asked looking him over.
"What back already? I was just about to have some real fun with him and destroy the little twerp." Maguc smirked.
"Volt are you ok?" Anna asked comming to his side putting her left paw on his shoulder.
"Where's Davis Anna? Why didn't you bring him with you?" Volt asked.
"Well I.." Anna said but could'nt find her voice. "Look I told you you could'nt take on Maguc and now look at you you can barley stand."
"Iv'e been through worse." Volt groaned getting on his feet.
"No you need to rest." Anna said pushing Volt aside and made him sit up against the wall.
"Anna.." Kari breathed.
"Now just stay there." Anna said joining back with Kari as they glared at Maguc and Brad who smirked.
"Well now ladies shall we begin?" Brad asked.
"Hopefully you wont run away." Maguc chuckled.
"You brute you not only hurt Anna but this poor guy Volt here too!" Kari shouted. "I cant believe someone like you was ever Anna's friend!" Kari opened her book.
"Magon!" Brad shouted with Maguc firing his attack.
"Saloshi!" Kari shouted as a white energy dome surrounded them blocking the attack. "Anna!"
"Im ready!" Anna waved her paws back as they glowed magneta.
"Charsu!" Kari shouted as Anna waved her arms downward firing a magneta x at Maguc who brought his arms up blocking the attack making smoke when it cleared Maguc was barley harmed.
"You got to put more power into your spells." Volt breathed standing on his feet.
"You have'nt changed your attacks are as weak as ever Anna." Maguc chuckled. "Why drag this out any longer you cant win and you know it."
"Ganzu Magon!" Brad shouted.
Maguc stared firing spike balls at Anna from both of his hands.
"Yeah our attacks may not get to you cause their not strong enough. However your power gets depleted everytime you fail to get through our defenses." Kari said. "Angeshield!"
A yellow disc with white energy having pink wings in the center with a red jewel in the middle came infront of the girls as Maguc's attack hit the shield and the balls shattered.
"Darn." Maguc growled.
"We accept your challenge! Go ahead and cast spells to your hearts content!" Kari yelled.
"To my hearts content eh? Very well then Im quite fond of this one its one of my favorites." Maguc smiled raising his right hand in the air over him.
"Ion Magon!" Brad shouted.
Maguc fired a spike ball from his hand with a chain attached at the bottom going in the floor and comming in and out towards Kari and Anna.
"Kari a defense spell." Anna said.
"Right, Saloshi!" Kari said making the white dome appear around them.
"Gotcha!" Maguc smirked as his attack came from under ground hitting the girls and break their shield.
"No way!" Kari said.
"It came from below!" Anna said.
"I must admit your defense spell are strong indeed. However they only work for what's above the ground. There useless from attacks that come below the surface." Maguc said retracting his chained ball back into his hand.
"So much power. I have to help Kari escape." Anna groaned getting up and looked to see Kari knocked out. "I have to make sure she's safe."
"Volt please help me get Kari out of here. Your the only one I can rely on." Anna got on her knees and looked behind her to see Volt gone. "He's gone?" Anna's eyes went wide with shock til they went down. "Of course he's gone he fled from a hopless battle in order to survive. Anyone with any sense would've done the same right?" Anna got up on her feet. "Well so what I've been fighting alone from the begining and Im still here are'nt I? Im not afraid of anyone." Anna shakly rose her head and glared at Maguc and Brad. "I'll fight like I've always have, alone." Anna rose her arms in a protective matter infront Kari. "I'll protect Kari by myself."
"I've enjoyed our little game but its over now. Goodbye Anna." Maguc smiled.
Anna only growled and glared harder at Maguc.
"Ion Magon!" Brad shouted.
"Volker!"
"Huh?" Anna looked behind her only to see blue lightning come from behind her and strike Maguc and Brad into the door making smoke go everywhere as Anna look in shock.
"You ok?" Anna looked next to her and saw her savior.
"Volt." Anna breathed as Volt stood there with his mantle blowing having a hard look on his face.
"He told me how you protected everyone at the concert." Anna looked to the other side to see Davis kneeled down right beside her putting his left hand on her head. "Thank you for a job well done. Leave the rest to us we'll take it from here."
"This must be Davis, Volt's partner." Anna had tears come in her eyes again as she smiled while laughed gratefully.
