Chapter 13 Volt and Anna's pledge of Friendship

Davis and Volt kept looking at the smoky entrance of the backdoor with Anna still looking at Davis that was until she heard moaning behind her and looked to see Kari comming to as she pushed herself up on her arms making her crown fall from her head.

"Kari." Anna walked towards her to help her up.

"Watch em Volt dont take your eyes off them for a second, you got that?" Davis said.

"Mmmhmm." Volt nodded his head as Davis got up and going to check on Kari as he kneel down to her level as Kari was sitting on her knees.

"You got hit pretty hard, are you alright?" Davis asked.

"Who are you?" Kari asked.

"This is Davis. Volt's book owner." Anna answered.

"Your his book owner?" Kari asked.

"Yep." Davis nodded his head.

"Thanks I'll be fine now. His spell got through but all it did was knock the wind outta me." Kari said.

"Good Im glad." Davis smiled making Kari's cheek tint pink as she smiled looking away.

"Can that really be Volt?" Anna asked looking at him.

Maguc and Brad groaned getting up.

"Get outta the way you little weakling." Maguc growled raising up his right hand as Brad opened the book with it glowing.

"Behind you!" Anna warned.

"Volker!" Davis shouted opening the book.

Volt seethed his teeth as his eyes went white and fired his attack hitting Maguc and Brad as they went blasting through the door and landed outside.

"No way, he attacked them without even turning around." Anna looked in awe as Davis got on his feet and looked at the door.

"That's perfect we blew them right out of the building." Davis said then he turned around to look at Kari and Anna. "Find a place to hide and stay out of sight. Dont worry we'll keep those guys from getting in the studio."

"What are you guys up to?" Anna asked as Davis and Volt looked at her. "I mean why help us what's in it for you?"

"What?" Davis asked surprised by her while Volt just looked at her as Anna looked back at Davis and Volt. "Amazing. Call me crazy but I cant believe you just said that."

Davis and Volt walked on ahead towards the door.

"That blue one, was he a weakling back in the Digimon world?" Kari asked Anna.

"Um yeah he's the one." Anna said as Davis and Volt jumped out the door and landed outside. "At least he use to be."

Davis and Volt were on guard as Maguc and Brad got up on their feet.

"You little brat. I warned you not to interfer and you did it anyway. So now your gonna get what you deserve your going down!" Maguc roared raising his right hand.

"Magon!" Brad shouted.

"Volt get ready. Volker!" Davis shouted.

Volt and Maguc fired their attacks as they clashed in a deadlock with neither able to push the other back.

Back in the building Kari and Anna looked seeing the two spells hit.

"Anna we have to help them defeat the enemy. If we dont their done for." Kari said.

"Why is Volt doing this? Why is he protecting me? Even if he helps me now he know he'll have to fight me sooner or later." Anna thought as she looked outside. "But maybe.."

Anna started to run and head outside.

"Oh Anna." Kari smiled as she followed

When they got there they saw the spells cancel each other out as Maguc and Brad were knocked down to the ground while Davis and Volt skidded back on their feet.

"Whoa the blast of their attacks knocked Maguc and his partner down while Volt and Davis stayed on their feet." Anna said.

"Uh huh." Kari nodded her head.

"Ugh, damn it. Why am I having so much trouble getting rid of this little nerd?" Maguc said.

"Alright Volt its time." Davis said.

"You mean?" Volt asked raising his left eye.

"Yeah you can stop holding back, but go half strength." Davis said.

"Half strength?" Kari asked.

"Holding back?" Anna asked.

"Here I come!" Volt shouted running towards Maguc.

"You little weazel!" Maguc said.

"Ganzu Magon!" Brad shouted as Maguc fired his spiky balls with Volt head first into the attack jumping and dodging all of them.

"Keep going Volt!" Davis encouraged.

"What the?" Maguc fired more spike balls making Volt dodged left and right til one hit him in the chest making him skid back as he groaned in pain.

"Volt!" Anna shouted in concern.

"Much bett.. Huh?!" Maguc saw Volt got back up and smirked at Maguc.

"That all you got?!" Volt challenged runnning back towards Maguc but faster this time.

"Volt is'nt at all like he use to be. How did he get so strong?" Anna wondered looking at the fight. "Why are they helping us? And why is Volt trying so hard to protect me? Why is he so different now?"

"They've been fighting alot longer than us and its changed them both. Cause now their part of a team." Kari said.

"You think so?" Anna asked looking at Kari.

"Yeah, think about what happend earlier." Kari said remembering Davis lauched a spell without looking back. "A book owner usually has to face an enemy before an attack. But Davis had his back turned and still gave Volt enough power to blow them away."

"Yeah your right." Anna look back at the fight as they saw Volt jump on top of Maguc's Magon and run on it to him.

"Those two must've been in one powerful fight after another. Each one making them stronger than the last." Kari then looked at Anna. "Anna instead of just watching lets fight along side them and help em out." Anna just looked at the ground not knowing what to do. "Anna!"

Volt jumped off Magon and rammed his head into Maguc's face then kneed him in the gut and punched him in the chest making him skid back as Volt jumped and backflipped til he was back at Davis.

"Damn it! Why are you interfering? Why do you keep protecting them?! This fight has nothing to do with you!" Maguc shouted pointing at Volt. "Besides what good is it gonna do even if you protect them from me you'll have to fight them yourself!"

"He's right." Anna said looking up. "Someday we'll become enemies."

"Anna." Kari said.

"Once the battle began everyone changed. We're all enemies now." Anna whispered as she brung her hands up together. "There are'nt any friends in a battle like this. Only enemies."

"You think I care for something that's gonna happen in the future?!" Volt shouted making Anna and Kari gasped as they looked at him. "I only care about what's happening now! And right now Im not gonna let this scumbag hurt you again!" Volt roared.

"Volt.." Anna breathed.

"Anna was crying she was crying so hard when she pleaded with you begged you not to ruin Kari's concert. Remeber that?" Volt asked as he started walking towards Maguc who was swinging his Ion Magon as but Volt keep moving out the way.

"Be quite!" Maguc roared throwing his attack again only for Volt to grab it with his hands.

"But you just sneered saying you would attack the conert as soon as you finished her off!" Volt growled glaring hard at Maguc as he eyes slitted and he bared his teeth.

"What the?" Maguc said backing up as he looked in Volt's eyes.

"Cruelty like that is unforgivable! So Im gonna stop you Maguc, ONCE AND FOR ALL!" Volt roared pulling Ion Magon apart breaking it.

Anna slowly smiled at Volt.

"Oh Volt you have'nt changed a bit have you?" Anna thought remebering as Volt protected a flower from two Digimon to save it. "Even in another world your still the same old Volt. You big hearted idiot."

"Kari." Anna said getting her attention raising up her right hand.

"Right." Kari said grabbing her hand.

"Just a little closer Volt." Davis said as Volt got closer to Maguc and Brad.

"I still cant believe this punk thinks he can defeat me. Lets fry this brat Brad." Maguc said.

"Gigano Magonzu!" Brad shouted.

Maguc putted his hands forward and made a drill appear as he ran at Volt.

"That wont work. Liru.."

"Angeshield!"

Davis was interrupted as Kari cast her spell with Anna comming right beside Volt and made her shield come up and block Maguc's Gigano Magonzu breaking the drill, when it vanished Anna had her hands up smirking at Maguc who growled.

"You little freak!" Maguc thrusted his left fist but Volt grabbed it with his right hand still glaring at him with slitted eyes.

"Volkerga!" Davis shouted with Volt firing his spiral electrical right into Maguc knocking him in the air as he landed on his back not moving making Brad growl, Anna and Kari smiled, and Davis smirked while closing the book. "Good work Volt." Volt just spitted at the trash.

"Incredible." Anna breathed smiling. "He actually did it, he defeated Maguc. Is that really Volt the little weakling I grew up with?" Anna just looked at Volt as he continue to glare at Maguc.

Suddenly Maguc's eyes opened wide and he got up on his feet.

"Enough! Im not about to let myself be defeated by an outcast weakling like you!" Maguc roared.

"He still has that much power left?" Anna asked.

"Im going to win! Im gonna be king!" Maguc shouted. "How dare you even defy you lowly outcast scum! Compared to me your just a little mouse trembling in my power like Anna!"

"Liar!" Anna growled.

"Brad what are you waiting for?! Attack them again at once!" Maguc ordered.

"Magon!" Brad shouted.

"Your rotten to the core you monster!" Davis growled with his hair covering his eyes as Volt and Anna dodged out the way. "Volt and Anna are'nt lowly or less than you. Infact Volt is quite the opposite!"

"AAH!" Maguc roared firing his Magon again at the duo but Volt stopped his with his hand shocking everyone. "No way. He stopped my attack with just his hand." Maguc breathed.

"And here's why Im the opposite!" Volt shouted as he broke Magon making it shatter in tiny pieces all over the place.

"Amazing." Kari and Anna said stunned.

"You see you should'nt ever tell someone your better than they are! Because those you belittle will be the very ones to defeat you!" Davis shouted.

"Silence!" Maguc shouted firing Ganzu Magon.

"Bikerdor!" Davis shouted as Volt fired his lightning ball at Maguc making him magnitized as his own attack came back and hit him as the spiky balls got stuck to his body.

"Davis I've had enough of this lowlife! Use the spell now!" Volt roared with a blue aura covering his body.

"You got it Volt!" Davis shouted as the spell book glowed brighter than it ever has today. "The fifth spell Baodra Volkerga!"

Volt eyes shined white as he fired a large amount of lightning that formed into Azulongmon without the beard and roared frightning Maguc and Brad, the attack slammed into both of them shocking the rats painfully as they were knocked down to the ground. As Maguc got up his noticed his book was on fire making his eye go wide in shock as he reach for it.

"Nooo!" Maguc shouted as his book fully burned and he vanished.

All was quite as Volt's eyes came back into view with Davis huffing and puffing a little.

"Baodra Volkerga still takes takes alot outta me. Gotta work on that." Davis huffed getting his breathing back to normal.

"What power and strength." Anna smiled at Volt then looked at Davis. "Volt when you meet Davis you meet a good person. I think I understand now how Volt got so strong."

Brad backed up in fear as he saw the hatefull glares Volt and Davis were giving him and ran off whimpering making Volt and Davis humph smirking.

Anna however made her face go hard.

"But ultimately when the fighting is finished and the battle is finally over only one of us with be left." Anna grabbed Kari dress making her look at her.

"Anna?" Kari then noticed her steeling her gaze at Davis and Volt and she looked at the two as well.

"Yeah, when Volt and Davis told us how they felt they were telling the truth they did want to help us. They're both really good I can see that now." Anna thought as Davis and Volt turned around and started walking foward with hard gazes. "But Volt is fighting this battle cause he wants to be king just like the others. Eventually we'll have to fight each other."

Davis reached for Kari and Anna got ready to fight.

"Now you have a concert to do so you better get in there your fans are waiting for you." Davis smiled putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Huh?" Anna almost lost her balance when she heard that.

"Yeah and this time I'll be there too. So good luck." Volt smiled raising up his right fist.

"Eh." Anna looked at them not believe what she was seeing.

"Hey Kari you ok? We're gonna go back to our seats, so have a great show ok?" Davis said smiling patting her shoulder.

"Uh thanks for everything." Kari said smiling.

"Hey thanks Anna for helping me out putting up that shield." Volt smiled at Anna grabbing both her hands. "Your a great fighter. Thanks again."

"Gee thanks." Anna smiled.

"See ya!" Davis and Volt ran past them going into the building.

"No! No way! Its not suppose to be like this!" Anna closed her eyes and shook her head. "No matter how much I wanna believe them, to trust them, there are no friends in this battle. Even if they use to be really good friends. Even if they have'nt changed and are still like they use to be. Every single one of them is my enemy." Anna opened her eyes and looked back at Davis and Volt.

"Hold it right there!" Anna said making Davis and Volt stopped as they turned to look at her as she pointed her right paw at them. "You should've been watching us! We could've attacked you while you were walking away!"

Davis and Volt just looked at Anna not saying anything.

"We'll have to fight anyway so why not right now?! Well are you gonna fight are not?!" Anna asked looking at them hard.

"Im not fightning you Anna. If you looked earlier you saw I took Maguc down without even breaking a sweat. Plus I was only using about a small portion of what I can really do. And didn't you remember the attack I finished him off with?" Volt asked looking at her as Anna and Kari remembered the battle and how Volt easliy countered and dodged practically all Maguc's spells not to mention the the dragon attack he did making them realize he was right. "Besides Anna your a good friend."

"What?" Anna asked with her cheeks tinting pink. "We're not here to make friends we're here to fight and choose a king!" Anna shouted.

"A king, a good king is a benevolent ruler who cares about others. Someone who's nice to begin with." Volt said.

"Well yeah I suppose so." Anna said.

"Recently I meet a Digimon named Nyulu. She hates violence but she was force to fight against her will. But I have'nt forgotten what she wanted from this battle." Volt said lookin at Anna deeply. "That's why Im here fighting for. To become a kind king Anna."

Anna gasped bringing her right paw on her chest.

"And if I become king I'll put and end to this useless fighting once and for all." Volt walked towards Anna and stopped. "And now if I lose I know that there's someone who can take my place. It'll be you Anna you could be the kind ruler our world is looking for."

"Why do you sound so strong Volt? What changed you?" Anna cried putting her face in her paws as Kari smiled softly as her. Anna raised her head out of her paws and stared her face laughing to the sky. "Did I say strong what was I thinking? This is Volt Im talking to. Volt the weakling. Benevolent ruler indeed. You would'nt know how to rule an ant farm much less a whole world." Anna laughed putting her paws on her hips while Volt smirked having a tick mark on his head.

"But I'll fight hard to stop anyone else from becomming king. So that when we fight one another at the end it wont matter who becomes king, cause their'll be a benevolent one either way." Anna smiled sticking out her right paw.

"Exactly." Volt nodded his head smiling sticking out his right shaking Anna. "Here's to king."

"Right." Anna smiled nodding her head.

Davis and Kari smiled at the pack that was made.

"Hey how about you guys train with us, that way you become strong like us." Davis asked looking at Kari.

"That sounds like a great idea." Kari smiled.

"Hey Volt how many spells do you have?" Anna asked as they seperated their hands.

"I have six." Volt answered.

"What? I only have three." Anna said stunned.

"Then we'll have to help you out. Though I warn you our training is tough." Volt smirked.

"Ha! Any training you come up with I'll be able to handle." Anna smiled.

All four ended up laughing as a new friendship was formed.

Back inside the studio Kari was on stage wearing a green strapped dress with a yellow short sleeved shirt under it and she was singing as Davis and Volt walked in sitting next to Yolie and noticed they came in.

"I see you got Volt in here. That's great the concert just started again, so come on." Yolie smiled then she noticed Davis replaced his black shirt with a I Heart Kari blue shirt in red letters. "Hey no fair Davis, where did you get a Kari tshirt? Can I get one?" Yolie pouted making Davis and Volt chuckle at her.

"Hey there's something in my pocket." Davis said pulling out a note and opening it with Volt jumping on his left shoulder and looking at it too.

"Hey its from Kari." Volt said.

"Next time it'll be my turn to help you. Til then take care, Kari." The note said.

"I suppose fighting along side a teen idol in a battle for the thrown of another world will be interesting." Davis smiled at Volt with his cheeks tinting red.

"And it'll be exciting with a chance of awesome." Volt smiled nodding his head.

"Kari! Kari! Kari!" Yolie shouted with Davis and Volt joining in with her as Kari continued to sing to the crowd.

"Davis and Volt. I've made some pretty good friends. And Anna did too." Kari thought as she looked to the side and saw Anna fast asleep on the wall smiling with the book next to her. "Sweet dreams Anna. She's been so nervous about the battle she has'nt got a good night sleep since she got here. But now she's sleeping so peacefully you'd think she was floating on a cloud." Kari looked back at the crowd and smiled more if it was possible.

"I meet someone who I can trust. Someone who wants to be my friend, not my enemy. And his name is Volt Bell." Anna thought happily snoozing away.
