After Reid's interruption, Penelope and Derek headed back inside the apartment. They realized that the hallway wasn't the best place to be kissing and talking about serious things. Besides, they weren't entirely positive Penelope's neighbors couldn't hear them.

Derek was perched at her kitchen inland, watching as Penelope fetched two wine glasses and filled them. "So, Hot Stuff, have I converted you into a believer of the Ouija?" she asked. "You seen the planchette move as if by magic."

"That I did," he said. "I don't know if I believe in it though. It still seems pretty far-fetched to me. Besides, we still don't know who we were talking to."

She scrunched her face up at him. "A ghost, of course! They were from the other side!" Then, she added darkly as she sipped her drink: "They were from beyond the grave."

"I'm not scared Baby Girl," Derek said with a laugh. "It takes a little more than a spirit board to do that."

"Whatever!" she cried. "I seen your face when the door wouldn't open. You were terrified!"

"Was not!" he challenged. "I only wanted to protect you. It's not like I could pull out my gun and stop the ghost. It wasn't a person anymore. It was...deceased."

Penelope could hardly control herself. "I am so posting this to my blog," she chirped. "My tumblr friends will find this uber hilarious. I'll tag it: 'my big black twelve pack is afraid of the afterlife.'"

Derek made a face. "I wasn't scared," he insisted."We still have the board, don't we? If it was too much for me, I would've burned it."

Penelope swigged the rest of her wine. "You, my fine furry friend, were trembling in your boots," she slurred, already feeling tipsy. "Even Reid was braver than you."

"Are you trying to wound me?" he said in mock agony. "You think that Spencer Reid was more brave than I?" Then: " I'll have you know, Princess, I am not afraid of anything."

"Do you really think I believe that?"

"You should," he said defiantly. "It's true."

Penelope grinned and started toward him. She'd had a little too much wine though, as she stumbled into his arms. "You're afraid of me!" she said giggling. "I know you are. I could delete your existence in a heartbeat if I wanted to."

"You have a point," he said chuckling. "Hopefully I'll never make you mad enough to do that."

Knowing how wine could make her crazy, Derek started toward the couch, practically dragging Penelope with him. She was such a lightweight when it came to alcohol, wine in particular. "C'mon Baby Girl," he said. "Get on the couch and I'll tell you what else I'm afraid of."

She obliged. As soon as they reached the couch, she practically collapsed on it. "What are you afraid of?" she asked sleepily. "Spiders?"

"Somewhat," he admitted. "They definitely give me the heebie-jeebies. What kind of insect needs eight legs anyway? I'm sure they could get around on just two."

She only smiled and laced her fingers with his. "I'm not afraid of spiders," she said in a proud voice. "I'll protect you from them, as long as you keep all the scary ghosts away."

"Will do goddess," he said, peering down at the Ouija board that was still sitting on the coffee table. As soon as Penelope was asleep, he was taking it back to the attic. It was too freaky for him. Besides, he didn't want her playing it again for a while, if ever.

He brushed the hair back from her face. "I love you," he said. "Sleep well."

"I love you too," she mumbled, her mind already captivated by dreams.

Reid was home for about ten minutes when his doorbell rang.

He opened it to find JJ and Henry on the other side, both of them smiling at him. "Guess what Uncle Spencer!" Henry said excitedly. "We get to have a sleepover with you!"

"I know, buddy!" he replied, waving them in. "We can do whatever you want. I even found the Bill Nye DVDS that you love."

Henry jumped up and down in place. "Yes!" he yelled. "Where are they?"

"On the dining room table," Reid directed. "You have about five choices."

Henry raced into the other room, leaving Reid and JJ alone. She looked a little uncomfortable, and he could sense words had been exchanged between her and Will.

Reid was right. "Will wasn't too happy about this," she said softly, not wanting Henry to overhear. "But, like I told him, it's my decision. I don't want Henry to see us fighting all the time. We just need out of that situation. I hope you don't mind."

She gestured to a suitcase that Reid hadn't noticed. It seemed he would be having house guests for more than one night. "Fantastic," he said. "You can stay as long as you like. There's the guest room for Henry, and you could, er…"

His voice trailed off. Where would JJ sleep? Would she want to stay wherever Henry was, or would she opt to share sleeping quarters with him? It wasn't like they'd voiced their feelings. They just knew their relationship was becoming more special.

"How about with you?" JJ suggested. "Henry isn't one for sharing beds. He likes to stay up late reading science books. That and he's quite a talker once he's asleep. I'm sure you're less disruptive and won't wake me as often."

"Are you sure?" Reid asked. "I could always fix up the couch for me. That way I wouldn't be intruding on your personal space."

She stood on tiptoe and kissed him. It was short and sweet, but still a kiss. "I wanna be wherever you are Spence," she said. "You help make me feel better."

"Okay," he said blushing a little. "Problem solved then."

Henry ran back to where they were standing, waving a DVD at them. "C'mon guys!" he yelled. "This one is about the solar system! We have to watch it!"

They followed him into the living room, watching as Henry put the DVD in the player. "This is going to be awesome!" he said and crawled onto the space between them on the couch. "Bring on the galaxy!"

Reid smiled at JJ over Henry's head, knowing there was nowhere else he'd rather be. This was exactly what he'd always wanted.

He'd have to remember to thank Penelope for the Ouija game night tomorrow.
