Goodbyes, subchapter one: Lovers

The female sniper had found Chloe seemingly passed out at a cafeteria table, her hat discarded on the side while bark brown hair tumbled down her back. Not a drunken passed out, the normal kind of passed out people tend to partake in after beheadings and a days long psychotic murder spree. Her arms were draped over her forehead, resting heavily.

" That's adorable." The female sniper drawled. She slid under the table, having a little difficulty because of her height, but eventually made her way under.

" Wouldn't you be more comfortable in a bed?" She asked, running her fingers through Chloe's hair.

" Shush, I'm sleeping." Chloe mumbled back.

" Sleeping my ass, come on, let's get you off the floor." The sniper wrapped her arms under Chloe's torso, ready to haul her out.

" What the fuck?" Clearly awake now, Chloe rolled out of her arms and squished herself out of the sniper's reach.

" You can't sleep here, you're going to get a sore back and probably catch some sort of disease."

" Why the hell do you you care?" The venom in her words stung. " It's not like we're close or anything. It was just fucking sex."

" What the hell? Why are you trying to hurt me, I didn't do anything!"

" It doesn't matter!"

" Yes it fucking does!" The sniper was shouting now. " I know you're upset about this, no one isn't, but lashing out at those who are trying to look out for you is no way to deal with it!"

" How am I supposed to deal with it then?! Huh?!" Chloe's voice broke.

Silence fell. An awkward, drawn out silence full of the unsaid feelings and unresolved emotions. Anger, hurt, fear… things that were not going to be solved in the few hours they had left in the universe. Sniper slid further under the table, and wrapped herself around Chloe like some sort of protective barrier.

" I don't know. But I think it starts with us going home." Chloe buried her face into the Sniper's shoulder.

" I'd like to go home." She whispered. And then, " Don't you fucking dare tell the scout I'm whining like this."

" Never." The sniper mumbled, and then she planted a kiss on the top of Chloe's head.

" What do you mean bury ze hatchet? There's no hatchet to be buried." Spy said indignantly.

" Oi mean, quit treatin' the scout like he's an imbecile at every opportunity. It's childish how you two carry on." The sniper had approached Spy shortly after catching some fitful sleep. He's already spoken with the scout about this squabbling buisiness, he just had to convince Mr. Stick up his ass.

" He's ze child, not moi."

" Ah, yeah, it's totally not childish how you make snide remahks like some playground bully. Oi'm so totally wrong on that."

" Your sarcasm is amasing." The sniper rolled his eyes.

" Look, awl Oi'm askin' is will ya try? We have to be more of a team than that."

" Fine. I will be more civil if he will."

They stood looking at eachother for a long time, sniper with his arms crossed and the spy resting one hand on his well defined hip.

" I'm glad sat you did not die." He finally said.

" Me too." The sniper chuckled. Now it was the spy's turn to roll his eyes.

" You are clearly still as arrogant as ever."

The sniper shrugged. " Get used to it Oi guess." Then he laughed, while the spy snorted, indignantly, but amused.

It was raining melted caramel in the pyro's candy world. He didn't know what to do, all his friends were off canoodling in separate areas of the land, and he was all alone. Sometimes Pyro was alone when he didn't want to be, and it made him sad. He was also confused about all the goings on with his bubbling cherub friends, and that made him sad too.

" Mhhhmmmm mmhmhmhhm." He heard from behind him. Turning, he saw the other pyro. They brandished their bubble maker gun, trying to cheer pyro up.

" Mhhhmm." Pyro said. He had a feeling this other pyro would be leaving him soon, and while he didn't want them to go, they could still have some fun while it lasted.

To an outside observer it would seem the Pyros went back down into the tunnels, scorching everything within reach of their flames with purifying fire. However, to the Pyros it was something more. A first, and last, date in a way. They would never feel this way again.
