After Klaus opened the car door for Caroline chivalrously, she slid into the driver's seat, stepping on the accelerator as the car raced down the street. A hard stare crossed Klaus's face while his mind raced from the drastic turn of events after his visit with Marcel. He had been impulsive and though he had no remorse, there would be consequences and someone would have to pay up.
His eyes shifted over to Caroline, her hair matted in blood, her shirt covered in red fluid, and her eyes bewildered as she stared off into the dark road ahead. She was physically and emotionally exhausted and he couldn't blame her. She had been through hell and back just to see him and he knew there was more to the story than what Caroline had told him.
"Why did you come, Caroline?" Klaus inquired.
Caroline took a deep breath before telling Klaus about her journey with Katherine, beginning from the second that Damon entered her dorm room with Katherine swung over his shoulder. "My part was to keep Katherine safe while Damon found a way to bring Bonnie back, but you could imagine how difficult that would be since Silas is over two thousand years old..."
"So you sought shelter from your most powerful ally," Klaus mused.
Caroline lifted her eyes to meet his. "Can I count on you?"
"Do you really have to ask?" Klaus's eyes bore into her bright blue ones, locking her in his hypnotic gaze.
Caroline forced her head to turn back to the road, a small smile placed on her lips.
Klaus continued to stare at her with that heated look that was reserved only for her. Even in disarray, she was the most stunning creature he had ever laid his eyes on. She wore the remains of the darkness that surrounded her, but her blinding light managed to slip through the carnage and radiated from her even now. He didn't doubt that Silas tried to harm her, yet her eyes claimed otherwise. She wasn't broken, barely a scratch actually, and in that moment, he'd never felt more honored to be in the presence of Caroline Forbes.
Once Rebekah was tearing down the road in her car, Katherine shifted her eyes back and forth as the silence settled in. She twiddled her thumbs, trying to avoid any eye contact with Rebekah when she felt the blonde's tense glare burn her skin. The doppelganger quickly turned the radio on to fill the silence, but Rebekah abruptly shut it off.
Katherine flinched, turning back to stare out the window and slid her body away from Rebekah as far as the car permitted and nearly had her body pressed against the nearest exit.
Rebekah gnarled her manicured hand into Katherine's wild curls, bringing Katherine's ear to her face until Katherine gasped from the feeling of Rebekah's hot breath scorch her ear. "What game are you playing?"
"What are you talking about?" Katherine's hand went to the one yanking at her roots, trying to assuage Rebekah's grip.
"Why did you tell Niklaus I saved you and omitted the part where I sided with Marcel?"
"Because you did save us," Katherine admitted. "And now we're even."
Rebekah scanned Katherine's face for a hidden agenda and released her when there was none to be found. She almost forgot that Katherine never asked for any of this; she never asked to be the doppelganger, never asked to be a sacrifice, and she never asked for her family to be slaughtered.
All she ever wanted was to be free.
Piling into the Mikaelson estate, Caroline and Katherine barely had a second to coo over the grand house before Klaus was directing Caroline in the direction of his shower.
"Your shower?" Caroline raised a brow suspiciously. "What's wrong with the million other showers in your mansion?"
"I'm afraid they're not up to par with you stature, love." Klaus smirked. "I'll spare no expense to ensure you settle for nothing less than your worth, Caroline."
Katherine and Rebekah rolled their eyes at his obvious attempts.
"Klaus, what do you expect me to use in your shower? Your body wash and shampoo so we can have matching scents?" Caroline gaped at him when she saw his eyes light up at the thought. "Shut up."
Klaus chuckled before approaching a nearby cabinet and bringing several feminine shower products to the blonde. "You can borrow some of Rebekah's-"
"Nik!" Rebekah complained.
Klaus shot her a warning before placing the products in Caroline's hand, challenging her to deny him again.
Caroline looked down at the products in her hands, stunned. "What about you? If anyone here needs a shower, it's you." She gestured to his attire, evidence of the mayhem coating his entire figure.
Klaus's tongue peeked out of his mouth, gliding across those full red lips that had Caroline mesmerized. He couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to enter that shower with her, washing off the day just to come out even more filthy. Their slick bodies pressed against each other under the running water while he pinned her against the wall and lost control as he claimed her. "There are things to be handled, but rest assured I'll be done by the time you come out."
She tugged on her lip and shook her head. "You're so lucky that I feel so gross and exhausted that I don't have the patience to fight you on this." She brushed past him, heading in the direction of the room he previously spoke of.
"Enjoy your shower, sweetheart," Klaus called. "I'll bring up some of Rebekah's clothes for you to wear."
"Invite her over for my next slumber party, why don't you?" Rebekah spat.
"Well, you're always complaining about how you don't have enough friends," Klaus quipped.
Rebekah glowered at him before both Originals' attentions focused on the human still in the room.
Katherine looked back and forth at Klaus's and Rebekah's irritated eyes and quickly charged for the guest bedroom. "Well, looks like my shower's calling me."
Once the two siblings heard the two showers turn on, they began to search the house for their elder brother. They called his name throughout the house and found that no one else was home.
"Where the bloody hell could he have gone?" Rebekah huffed.
"No matter," Klaus stated. "Gives us more time to come up with a plan. Caroline and Katerina can't stay here."
"None of us can stay here, Nik," Rebekah concluded. "There's nothing left of New Orleans. You can't have a kingdom without any people; they've turned to savages and they won't stop until the city is burned to the ground. Marcel's death triggered an Original hunt and anyone seen with us. We have to leave now."
"I will not be run out of town," Klaus declared.
"It's not being run out if you leave on your own. What are you still holding onto? Some of the food here isn't even authentic French," Rebekah reasoned.
"I built this place-"
"And you got to be the one to tear it down, Congratulations. I hear Paris is lovely this time of year." Rebekah forced a smile and Klaus rolled his eyes in response. "Nik, think of it this way: Silas will have his nose stuck up every ass in the country until he has Katherine's head. With the town in shambles, it won't take him long to notice the chaos that Caroline and Katherine brought to this town. On top of that, Silas would be a fool not to think that Caroline would turn to you. So here are our choices: you can choose to do what's best for our family and the girl you care for- which I will never understand- and get the hell out of this town so we can plot to kill Silas."
"Running with Caroline will only put her in more danger. Others will recognize me and word will spread of our location. It's too dangerous. I'll have Elijah transport them someplace safe," Klaus elucidated.
Rebekah furrowed her brows at him like he was mad. "You are Niklaus Mikaelson. You told me that Stefan and Damon Salvatore didn't know what your face looked like when you first stepped foot into Mystic Falls. We will be traveling with the woman who evaded you for five centuries. That's poppycock and you know it."
"I won't have her run!" Klaus roared, causing Rebekah to flinch. "I won't have her run like we did. I won't have her live in fear and paranoia. It's me that the vampires want and Silas can't do anything to me that I haven't already been through."
"If Elijah takes them, they will still fear Silas. They won't be free, Nik," Rebekah told him.
"No," Klaus admitted. "She'll be in an asylum which is a great step up from our predicament. She will stay there, hidden, until one of the witches here find a way to kill Silas." The hybrid paced back and forth. "It was my choice to kill Marcel and now someone has to pay the price. I want you to go with them."
Rebekah looked up at Klaus, feeling like a freight train just slammed into her chest. "You're mad."
Klaus opened his mouth to respond, but the sound of a shower shutting off silenced him. "This conversation is over."
"The bloody hell this conversation is over!" Rebekah screamed as she followed him to a nearby closet. She watched him rummage through dozens of casual dresses until he found an ocean blue pleated dress that would compliment Caroline's eyes. "I don't give a lick what you want, Nik."
Klaus brought a now cleaned finger to his lips, having previously washed his hands when he entered the house, and shushed her. "I suggest you prepare for bed soon, sister. I'm sure you have a long journey tomorrow."
Rebekah just stared as he walk down the hall, unable to grasp the words he'd just spoken.
Caroline ran her moist hand across the mirror above the sink, clearing the fogged image until she saw her reflection smiled back at her. She'd found Klaus's black comb in one of the glossy drawers and brushed the comb through her damp blonde hair as his evergreen towel hugged her body.
She wasn't entirely sure how she should feel about this, standing naked in Klaus's shower wearing nothing but the towel he uses to dry himself off and using the comb that he runs through his own curls. There was a rather large part of her that felt guilty for even being here and knew that it was wrong, because this was Klaus we were talking about. Even if his greeting was more beautiful than any poetry she'd ever read, he wasn't someone to swoon over, yet there was that other part- the part that always caught her by surprise- that felt even more guilt because her heart accelerated at the thought of him seeing her in here like this.
She heard a knock at the door as she exhaled deeply.
"Just a minute." She threw the comb back into the drawer and held onto the towel wrapped around her body as she opened the door just wide enough for her to see Klaus smiling on the other side. "Hi."
Klaus took a minute to take in her beauty. As soon as she had opened the door, his senses had been overwhelmed with her sweet fragrance, catching him off guard for a moment. His breath caught in his throat as he stared at her; even without any make up, she was still so genuinely beautiful that he struggled to maintain his focus. His eyes fell down to the dress in his hands, reminding him of his mission. "I hope this is to your taste. I have no doubt you'll look stunning in whatever you choose to wear."
Caroline offered him a small appreciative smile as she took the dress from him. "Thanks. I'm not exactly being picky these days. I'll just be a minute and then the bathroom will be all yours." She closed the door behind her before dropping the towel and slipping into the cotton blue dress.
"There's no rush, love. Take your time," Klaus reassured her.
Caroline looked in the mirror in awe while her hands smoothed down the front of her dress. The dress clung to each curve and stopped above her knee, flattering her body and making her eyes pop.
Damn he was good. They must either have the same taste or he was just that smooth. Knowing her luck, it was probably both.
She reopened the bathroom door, but this time she pushed the door wide open, revealing her form to him. From the way Klaus's eyes trailed up and down her body, like he was mentally undressing her, she blushed, getting the feeling that he approved. "Thanks for the dress." Caroline slipped out of the doorway, trying to avoid the tension that was rapidly building in the enclosed area. "Your shower was- the shower massager was nice... better than the one I have at home."
"I can get you one if you want," Klaus offered, regretting the words the second they left his lips.
Caroline rolled her eyes, shooting him a look that said 'seriously?'
"I wasn't trying to-"
"I know." Caroline pressed her lips together, attempting to hide the smile forming on her face as her mind drifted back to the night of the Mikaelson ball when she had accused him of trying to buy her off with all the expensive gifts he had given her. They've come a long way from then. "But still."
"Ahem," another voice interrupted.
Klaus and Caroline turned to Katherine, who had a bleach white towel wrapped around her body with her hair still dripping wet.
"Cute dress, Caroline. Where's mine?" Katherine asked.
"Frankly, I don't give a bloody lick what you wear or don't," Klaus retorted.
Katherine narrowed her eyes at the supercilious hybrid. "Oh, well, I could take Caroline's dress then and she could walk around here naked. I bet you'd give a lick then."
Klaus growled at the human.
"Okay, you, go take a shower before that blood permanently stains your skin." Caroline began pushing him in the direction of the shower and he relented. "You, follow me so I can find you something to wear." Caroline headed for the stairs with Katherine at her heels.
After a particularly painful experience of Katherine rejecting approximately fifty dresses before she settled on a black, lacey one that she described as 'decent', the two entered the kitchen in search of food where they found Rebekah sitting at the wooden table at the side.
Katherine and Caroline raided the Mikaelson's fridge, relieved to find that they did keep real food in there and to Caroline's surprise blood bags.
"B positive?" Caroline looked at Rebekah. "You drink B Positive?" She waved the bag of blood to the Original.
"No, but Nik insisted we store them in case of emergencies." Rebekah eyed the vampire carefully, watching Caroline drink the blood with enthusiasm, as if she were savoring each drop. "You seem to be enjoying that bag."
"It's my favorite," Caroline confessed after finishing the bag and tossing it.
"What a coincidence," Rebekah replied humorlessly. "Considering that's the only blood type we carry."
Caroline didn't hear her as she took a second bag with her to the table and inserted the tube into her mouth, using it as a straw.
Katherine helped herself to the food in the house by filling a bowl with fresh berries and invading the pantry to make herself a sandwich before joining the two blondes at the table.
Rebekah glared at the blonde sitting opposite to her as she slurped down the blood bag casually. Caroline slowly lifted her eyes, feeling Rebekah's odious stare bore into her skull. She released the tube with a pop as electricity emitted from Rebekah's blazing blue eyes.
"Did you want some?" Caroline offered the blood bag to the raging blonde.
Rebekah snatched the half empty blood bag, throwing it against the beige kitchen walls, painting a large area in blood.
Caroline's jaw dropped, watching stray drops of blood glide down the once spotless wall.
What a waste.
"What the hell did you do that for?" Caroline questioned.
Rebekah sat in silence, allowing her anger to boil. "He'll die because of you, you know."
Caroline's head snapped to the Original vampire's. "What?"
"He killed Marcel for you, so now he has to face the consequences because of your friends' foolish mistakes, not to mention Silas who will come for you no doubt," Rebekah bit out.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Caroline yelled.
"He's sending you away," Rebekah informed her. "He's sending us all away because his skull is too thick for him to see reason. He thinks that if he stays here and kills every vampire who comes for you and uses the witches to kill Silas, he can spare you the same fate that we suffered."
Initially, Caroline knitted her brows together, uncertain of what Rebekah was referring to, but then it hit her. "You mean he doesn't want me to run like he did when his father hunted him. He doesn't want me to turn out like him..." She sharply stood from her seat, anger building inside her stomach while her hands clenched the wooden table underneath. How dare he.
Pounding her enraged fists against the sleek mahogany door of Klaus's bathroom, Caroline was determined to drag that hybrid out soaking wet and covered in suds if she had to. "Klaus, get your Original ass out here!" She didn't hear a response so she returned to assaulting the door with one fist while her other hand vigorously turned the brass knob incessantly. "Klaus, I know you can hear me, so you better be drowning in that shower!"
She paused her motions as soon as she detected that Klaus had assuaged the water in the shower.
"Caroline?" he called.
The blonde gulped, hearing his sexy accent emit from the damp shower. "We need to talk."
"Now?"
"Well, I wouldn't be here if I meant in half an hour," Caroline countered.
"Would you mind joining me in here while we chat?"
"What?" Caroline's cheeks burned a deep scarlet red, imagining what it would be like if she took him up on that proposition. She narrowed her eyes at the smooth door when she heard him chuckle from the other side. "Klaus!"
"Just a minute, love."
Caroline crossed her arms as she leaned against the dark, elegant door frame, listening to him quickly rinse off and shuffle across the bathroom. He opened the door with his infamous wide smirk displayed on his handsome face, his dirty blonde curls drenched, and his skin glistened as drops of water clung to his clean flesh. Despite her effort to keep her eyes locked on his face, her eyes traveled down his body, making note of the bird tattoo laid across his chest, his toned pectorals, his delicious, defined abs, and the evergreen towel that rested just below his hips. All it would take was just a tiny tug...
Caroline's eyes snapped back to his deep blue eyes before he caught her staring. Although, it didn't stop him from flashing her that irritatingly smug look of his. She straightened her posture, redirecting her attention to the reason Klaus is half naked in front of her. "Can you put on some pants or something?" She turned on her heel with her back facing him.
Klaus furrowed his brow in confusion. "You'll have to excuse my lack of decency, love, considering the way you assaulted my door it sounded like there was a fire." Klaus walked back into his room, pulling on black jeans and a matching Henley. "Now what can I do for you?"
Caroline rounded on him, closing his bedroom door behind her and stared up at him, feeling his hot breath caress her face. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Well, I'm fairly certain that I missed a spot behind my ears, but-"
"Rebekah told me you're trying to send us away," Caroline blurted out.
Klaus was left speechless. Truth be told, he wasn't certain how he would feel when the time came where he would have to say goodbye to Caroline again, but seeing the look of betrayal in her blue eyes was something he did not anticipate. "Anywhere is safer for you than here or Mystic Falls."
"Why? What aren't you telling me?" Caroline pressed. "Who was that guy you killed, Klaus?"
"It doesn't matter anymore. It's been handled." He tried to exit the room, but she continued to block his path, refusing to allow him to leave.
"Tell me what you did," Caroline demanded.
Klaus's countenance turned hard. "I killed Elena, compelled Stefan to turn off his emotions, sired myself a hybrid army... shall I continue?"
Caroline squeezed her eyes shut, letting those painful memories slip back into her heart. "God, you're such an asshole." She stormed out of his room, slamming the door shut behind her.
Klaus sighed, hitting his head against the wall as he berated himself for letting his temper get the best of him. He didn't mean to bring up those nasty memories, but he couldn't make her feel guilty for showing back up in his life.
He'd rather have her hate him than herself.
Caroline ripped through the mansion like a whirlwind of blonde curls, nearly knocking down the front door as she bolted.
Katherine and Rebekah turned their heads in the direction Caroline took off in, lowering their tea cups down to their coasters.
"Caroline!" Klaus appeared in the kitchen, his heart nearly fell out of his chest at the sight of the front door being kicked wide open. Fury filled his eyes and glowed a golden yellow color, turning to the two women sitting at the table beside him. "Did you let her walk out that door?"
Katherine's and Rebekah's bodies went rigid, staring up at the fuming hybrid and simultaneously denied the accusation. Klaus hissed at them, baring his fangs before tearing after Caroline in the dark night.
Caroline skidded to a stop when she felt that she had put enough distance between her and the house so she could collect her thoughts. Running her fingers through her blonde locks, she ruminated over her conversation with Klaus. When he had thrown everything he'd done in her face, he was lashing out... but why?
She took in a deep breath as she took her frustrations out on a nearby tree, stripping the trunk of it's bark with one swift kick.
Stupid hybrid.
If he'd only been honest with her, she wouldn't be out here wrestling a tree, but then again, did she really want to be in that house with him?
The blonde felt sweat begin to form on the back of her neck when she heard something rustle behind the trees to her right. "Klaus? Klaus, if that's you, I don't want to see you."
The sound of a twig snap caused Caroline to put up a defensive stance, her fangs protruding from her gums. With her senses at its peak, she targeted her assailant hiding in the shadows and launched herself at them, pinning them against the ground as they bared their own fangs at her.
"Tyler?"
"Caroline?"
Caroline's mouth hung open, locking eyes with the guy who all but disappeared off the face of the Earth. She groaned, releasing him from her hold and brought herself back to his feet, watching him do the same. "Seriously? Yet another hybrid who just can't wait to be rid of me."
"What?"
"Never mind." She rolled her eyes. "I left you like fifty billion messages and when you finally bother to pick up the phone you say 'oh, hey, I'm not going to college.'"
"Caroline, it's not like I just blew you off-"
"Oh, spare me," Caroline scoffed.
"How'd you find me anyway?" Tyler asked.
Caroline gave him an incredulous look. "Seriously? You think I drove nine hours because my- I don't even know what we are any more- you weren't taking my calls?"
"Wait. If you're not here for me then..." Tyler's eyes widened. "You can't be serious." Caroline cast her eyes to the side. "He killed my mom, Caroline. And now you're choosing him over me?"
"Is that really what you think of me?" Caroline glowered at Tyler. "You think I would just fall into his arms the second that I'm single?"
"Are you?" Tyler stared at her intently.
"I know I'm not tied down since my boyfriend is no where to be found," Caroline spat.
Their heated stare off was interrupted when they heard the ground shift behind them.
Klaus stood there, hands folded in front of him and a murderous glare was sent directly at Tyler Lockwood. "Evening, mate. I don't recall you taking up residence in the quarter."
Tyler was frozen in place, anger and fear swirling inside his body.
Caroline bowed her head down, refusing to meet either hybrids' eyes. "Leave him. Compel him and be done with it."
Both hybrids looked to her with a look of surprise.
"Silas will find him for sure and it's best for his safety to not know anything about what he saw tonight." Caroline nodded to Klaus.
"Wait. What?" Tyler protested.
Klaus had a strong hand encased around Tyler's throat and quickly compelled him to forget what he saw that night and to leave town immediately.
Once Tyler had disappeared, Caroline was left alone with Klaus, keeping her back facing him.
"Are we going to talk about this?" Klaus walked up to her until she could feel his body heat send chills up her spine.
"I really don't wanna talk to you."
"You can listen then," Klaus told her. "My brother, Elijah, will be home soon and he can take you and Katerina to a refuge, safe from Silas or anyone else who would think to hurt you. I've asked Rebekah to accompany you as well for extra reinforcement."
Caroline whipped her body around to face him, her temper rolled off her shoulders. "Seriously? This is what you wanna talk about?"
"I beg your pardon?"
"You don't wanna say, 'I'm sorry I was such a douche before, Caroline. I owe you the truth, Caroline.' Something other than 'I'm just gonna ship you off to some strangers while I wait here for the Great Evil to stick his fingers into every vampire's head until he finds Katherine!'" Caroline raged.
Klaus was taken aback by her sudden outburst. "Though I regret my earlier surly remarks, you cannot stay here; it's too dangerous. And I assure you that Elijah and Rebekah are not strangers-"
"I don't know Elijah and Rebekah hates me and carries a burning enmity for Katherine, so I would hardly even call her an acquaintance."
Klaus ran his hand over his mouth in frustration. "There's no one else as strong as them that I can trust to bring you to safety-"
"God!" Caroline groaned. "Klaus, what the hell do you think me and Katherine are even doing in New Orleans? Did you think we came to see you because we were just in the neighborhood and thought that it would be rude if we didn't say hi?"
Klaus's heart tightened, seeing the strain on Caroline's face. "Caroline, I won't ask you to go on the run. Elijah and Rebekah will take you someplace they think that you'll be safe from harm. You won't have to experience the trauma of always having to look over your shoulder, wondering if the next breath you take will be your last. Have peace of mind knowing that I will take care of it."
"You want me to go play damsel and distress while you get to play the hero? Are you out of your mind?" Caroline shouted. "First of all, we live in the twenty first century. Second of all, I dragged Katherine all the way down to New Orleans because I trust you. Not Rebekah, not Elijah, you. I trust you with my life. I didn't come all the way here just to have you pawn me off to people I barely know." Caroline flicked her eyes off to the side. "Maybe I was wrong to..."
Klaus felt a crushing force squeeze his heart at the sound of regret in Caroline's voice. "You don't know what you're asking for."
"I know that I'm putting everything on the line to resurrect my best friend. I know that you're worried that if we run from Silas that it will break me and change me, but I don't break that easy. I know that, as much as I hate to admit it, we work well together. That time Stefan called you to help us stop Silas and I was able to save Bonnie... by killing twelve witches." Caroline felt acid in her throat as she swallowed. "We can stop Silas together if you'll work with me. You, Rebekah, and Elijah each have the wisdom of one thousand year old creatures, Katherine's a cunning mastermind, and I can tell you everything I know about Silas.
"This isn't just your fight, you know. He tried to kill my mom... I'm trusting you, and now I'm asking for the same in return." Caroline looked into the hybrid's softened eyes.
Klaus stared into her fiery blue eyes. He saw passion and ambition that easily matched his own. He knew that Caroline Forbes wasn't a dainty little daisy that would wilt at the slightest graze. A dragon would be a more accurate description of her; she could spit out even the deepest wraths of hell with few words, gracefully roam the Earth with her powerful wings, and have her real beauty overlooked by most simple minded creatures, but not him. She was Caroline and he of all people should know that her strength was boundless.
He took another step toward her, leaning his head down so that only a fraction of an inch separated their noses. Their eyes locked in a hypnotizing gaze. He nodded. No words escaped his lips- but she could see the emotions swirling behind those darkened blue orbs.
Caroline subconsciously released the breath that she'd been holding in. She didn't know when this feeling crept up on her, but just the thought of Klaus going against Silas without her rattled her bones. "Fight with me, Klaus. Come with us." Caroline reached her hand out for him to take.
Klaus lost the words in his throat when his eyes fell to the small hand in front of him. Caroline Forbes was offering to be on his side. There were days he believed that that day would never come, yet here she stands tonight.
He slipped his hand into hers, and then nodded.
Feeling her heart beat faster at the sudden contact, Caroline quickly readjusted her hand so that she was giving him a platonic handshake. "It's temporary, though."
Klaus felt a sharp sting in his chest. Now that he'd accepted that he would protect Caroline where ever she goes, it pained him to think that his time with her would ever come to an end. "Do you want it to be temporary?"
It doesn't matter what I want. She thought.
How was it possible for one person to surprise her as much as Klaus did? He had hurt her is so many ways, but he'd given her everything she never thought she could have. His eyes stared down at her like he could read her mind, just like when he asked her if she wanted the cure.
His lips curved up into a devilish grin, and she knew it wouldn't matter what answer she gave him.
"It's getting late. Race you to the house." Using her vampire speed at full force, she dashed out of the dark woods, knowing that running would do her no good if he really wanted to catch up with her.
Klaus smirked to himself as he watched her take off in an obvious hurry. He did not miss the jump in her voice or the sudden shift at the end of their heated argument. He was getting under her skin and she didn't have the will to deny him anymore, so now she was resorting to running.
Unfortunately for her, he was more than willing to chase her.
Hey, guys, I just wanted to thank anyone who still continues to read this fic.
I'm really sad to say that school starts in a little more than a week for me, so I don't know how much more writing I'll be doing. Good news is that I have most of the next chapter already written out, so you won't have to wait too long for that one, but we'll see.
Big thanks to Darkdickens for betaing and getting me so excited about this chapter!
Anyways, hope you guys tell me what you think :)
