Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own The Outsiders or the Characters or her plot. The fabulous S.E. Hinton does.

Darry's POV

I heard the familiar scream of my baby brother. Soda followed me as I ran off the porch and ran towards the screams. We chased off the Socs just as Ponyboy blacked out.

I picked him up and ran back to the house. These Socs were putting me at my wits end. Jumping the smallest and youngest when they were walking alone. It's not fair at all. Then again, nothing on the East Side ever is fair. The stupid Socs get all the breaks and we are stuck with next to nothing.

I picked up Ponyboy and saw Soda on the porch, stating at a colored sheet of paper. I set Ponyboy on the couch as he started to wake up.

"Darry, I did something bad." Soda started, but the phone rang.

It was Ponyboy's principal. He wanted to meet with me early tomorrow morning.

I was for sure Ponyboy was in trouble and for a moment, all I saw was the state taking them away for Pony's mistake, which really wasn't a mistake at all. I was livid, and I'd regret that forever.

Ponyboy's POV

I had finally come too. The first thing I heard was Darry's booming voice.

"Ponyboy Michael, Why on Earth does your principal want to meet with me? What did you do?"

"Nothing! I have no idea why." I said honestly.

"Yeah Dar, he said he didn't do nothing which means he didn't do anything." Sodapop defended.

"When does a principal meet with people for no reason? If I find out your lying, Ponyboy, you're in big trouble." Darry lectured me sternly. I sighed loudly.

"You never believe me." I yelled. He turned to Soda.

"Soda, you said you did something, what did you do?" Sodapop paled considerably.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow." Soda replied. Darry just shook his head.

"Fine, whatever." Darry told Soda as he stalked off to his room.

"Why doesn't he believe me Soda?" I asked. Soda shook his head.

"He is just worried." Soda tried but I just huffed loudly.

(next morning after meeting) Soda's POV

Darry walked in looking happy, embarrassment in his eyes, and Ponyboy walked looking livid.

"What happened?"

"Ask Darry. I'm not in any trouble." Ponyboy replied.

"They want him to go to high school next year." Darry said. High School?

"That's great Ponyboy." I told him. He was so smart while I was so dumb.

"It would have been, if Darry would have believed me instead of jumping to conclusions." Ponyboy said. He left and went into his room. I looked at Darry, I decided not to show him my paper just yet.

Pony's POV (dream)

(Bold italics Ponyboy) (Bold is dream parents/voices)

There in front of me was my late parents. Blood flowed from there chests.

"You Killed us! Ungrateful Brat! You lied to us. You never loved us!" They screamed at me. I shook my head.

"No! I'm sorry it was an accident." They pulled out knives and came towards me. That's about when I screamed.

Soda was in front of me, whispering comforting words.

He's lying, he just doesn't want to die! You'll kill him anyway!

I shook myself away from Soda, sobbing.

"I didn't mean to kill them. Don't leave me Soda." I whimpered through the sobs.

"You didn't kill no one and I ain't leaving you. I'm right here Pony, breathing." He reassured me. When he started to rub my back I fell asleep, exhausted from all the crying I had done already so early in the morning.

Pepsi-Cola's POV (that moring)

"Soda, what did you want to show me?" Darry asked calmly. I gulped loudly.

"You won't be happy, but here you go." I handed him the colored peice of paper shakily…

A/N: Cliffhanger! What did Soda do this time? Anybody got a guess? Hint: Darry is going to blow a gasket! Please R & R
