Hey, guys! Sorry it's taken a little over a month to update I should have posted the next chapter, what, two weeks ago? Maybe more? Anyways, I'd like to say that the next chapter is definitely being worked on, it's just that it's planned to be longer than the other (Actually the upcoming two should be) so it's taken longer to write them out in one sitting what with school and all that nonsense. But I promise to update soon and while you wait, here's a short preview of what's to come :) So this isn't a hiatus, I promise!

He'd been gone for what seemed like ages. She found herself falling back into her lonely, daily routine. Time wore on and nothing changed. The days lost their magic and light as she once again faced the harsh reality of her life. It felt so long of a time that she began to wonder if he was only a dream or a figment of her imagination. She had been desperate for a friend, after all. But he promised her. He said he would come back. So every night before going to sleep, she would tick off another day.

Princess Anna of Arendelle sat up in bed. Her hair a total rat's nest, strands slipping into her mouth and drool trailing down her chin. She wasn't much of a morning person.

In fact, it was 12:30. Anna rubbed crackers from her eye, spat the hair from her mouth and wiped away the drool. She drowsily glanced about, her gaze falling toward the window. Anna squinted, then her eyes widened. She stumbled out of bed and to the window, a smile crossing her face. Soft flakes of snow fell outside in wild flurries. It was finally the first day of winter, which meant… "Jack!"

With newfound purpose, she combed her hair, set it into braided pigtails and pulled on an olive green shirt, black vest and light brown skirt. Grabbing a cloak, boots and mittens, she scrambled out of her room, down the hall and slid down the banister. Slipping out the door and to the trees behind the castle, she treaded into two feet of snow. Anna eyed her surroundings, giggling with happiness. Everything was coated in a sparkling white. "Jack! Jack, are you here?" She called through cupped hands. Anna looked around once more. "Jack?" She shouted again. For a moment more there was silence until a familiar voice casually spoke,

"Hey, snowflake."

She whirled around to find the boy standing a few feet away. Anna took in the sight of her friend for the first time in what has been months. Gasping in delight, she surged forward. With any more force it would seem she'd tackled him; Anna wrapped her arms around him. He was cold, but she refused to care. "Jack, I missed you so much." She spoke, though her voice was slightly muffled.

"I missed you, too, Anna." He replied, returning the embrace. A second later, they pulled away from one another. He smiled and she returned the sentiment. Tears of happiness pricked at her eyes, and laughing self-consciously, she wiped at them. Jack's smile saddened momentarily. He knew she hadn't fared any better in his absence than him in hers. Jack reached out to take her hand. "What should we do first?"

A hopeful look crossed the girl's face, "… Do you want to build a snowman?"

At this, the boy's grin widened, bright enough to rival the twinkling snow falling around the two.
