Hey! Sorry that this took a while to update. I will be better now that the holidays are over. Please tell me what you think, it helps a lot and is very motivating. I hope that you guys like this chapter, my time line is a little all over the place, and doesn't follow the show. Also, I'm thinking of going into other POVs after this chapter, what do you guys think? Thank you so much for reading and for the continued interest. :)
As the year goes on, Kurt spends most of his time with Elliott- going out and having fun, he enjoys weeknights with Adam-staying in and watching movies, and any time in between he either is picked up by Sebastian to go somewhere, or crashes at his place when he's done clubbing but doesn't want to go home yet. Home is hardly home anymore, he stays at Adam's or Elliott's mostly, and then Sebastian's when he's drunk, in fact the only times he really ever sees Rachel or Santana is when they have band practice, or for their weekly Sunday hangout.
As for Blaine, it's quite complicated and he's not even sure if they're still together. He tries to call his fiancé every now and then, but the boy's usually busy with Sam and/or with a Glee problem and that just makes Kurt physically ill.
He's doesn't know why because Blaine is probably way more stable than him, but he still feels superior to him. He feels bad about it, but that doesn't change it. He feels superior to anyone who doesn't have the friends that he's made in New York, the friends who wouldn't even think to trample over, and insult him ruthlessly if it meant snagging a solo, but then that just makes him realize that they're more like family; Rachel, Blaine, Santana, he's supposed to hate them a little.
He dreads Blaine's arrival to the city and does everything in his power to already start keeping /his/ friends separate, to not let Blaine's handsome face and boyish charm steal them like it has with all of his high school friends. He even broke up the band in order to ensure that Elliott wouldn't ever be in their apartment that now Blaine was going to take over as well.
They had a countdown, he and his new friends. It started from fifty days 'til Blaine arrived and went down to one day in no time. In celebration of his last day of freedom, he got breakfast with Adam, lunch with Santana and Rachel-who would surely stop loving him as much as they did now once the /alpha gay/ was in their presence again. He had dinner with Sebastian, and went out at night with Elliott. After that everything went black.
It feels amazing. He has never been so tightly wound, excited, and relaxed all at the same time, but that's just what Sebastian does for him. He's laying there next to him and even though Kurt's eyes are closed in content happy blissful joy, he can see how beautiful the boy laying next to him is, he can /feel/ it. It's like a strange heat and he just wants to burry himself in it. It does get a tad nerve wracking when he can feel the tightness of his cock stiffening, but even that feels beautiful and errotic. When he opens his eyes to look at Sebastian, the boy's eyes are already open, but their not looking back into his, but instead peering down at his hard cock.
"Sebastian." He whispers, but Sebastian cuts him off with a shush.
"You're beautiful, Kurt. So beautiful." He whispers back, and Kurt believes it. Everything in this moment is beautiful and he, miraculously is in it.
"Sebastian." Kurt whispers again, this time more passionate, gasping when a large firm hand comes up to palm his erection. His eyes flutter closed again, and before he can whisper the name, he opens his eyes to a white, textured ceiling. It's the mashed potato ceiling, it's Adam's ceiling.
"Wha?" He mutters, turning his head in the direction of the awkward chuckle he hears. "Oh god." He groans when he sees Adam.
"Have a nice dream, kitten?" He teases, giving no time for Kurt to answer before he bends to suck at his neck.
"Adam!" He moans, eyes shooting open at how loud his voice is. He growls this time when he sees Elliott's red, ecstatically amused face. He knows that he's awake this time because his head aches, and his stomach tightens with nausea. He bats Elliott's hand away from his crotch and sits up. "Oh my god." He mutters.
"No throwing up on my bed spread, Hummel!" Elliott warns.
Kurt takes a second to calm himself down before he turns to Elliott. "What the hell happened last night?"
"We went out for drinks, danced, teased boys, went to Sebastian's and then came home." Elliott answers simply.
"Sebastian's! We went to Sebastian's?" He squeaks in horror.
"Yeeees."
"Why?"
"Because you have a big old boner for him."
"I do not!"
Elliott motioned to Kurt's crotch in reply.
"That's normal in the morning." Kurt tried.
"Not like that, dear."
"I was thinking of Blaine."
"There are a few people in here that you flirt with, and Blaine is /not/ one of them.". Elliott says holding Kurt's cellphone up.
"Hey!" Kurt gasps, taking the phone back.
"Also, who the hell is Burt? Do you have a daddy, K?" He asks, wiggling his brows.
"Ew! Yes! My father! Burt is my biological father! Burt, Kurt, couldn't put that one together, genius?"
"Who has their father in their phone as their name."
"It's Carole's old phone and I haven't-urgh!" He groans. "It doesn't matter. Don't go through my phone." He mutters tiredly. "If we went to Sebastian's, why are we here?"
"He had a group of guys there, and you didn't want to join the crowd."
"By crowd, do you mean orgy?"
"Mhm."
"Well, I'm proud of myself then." Kurt says, draping an arm over his face, reminding himself that he has no right being angry with Sebastian for sleeping around.
"Yeah, I know. You were all holier than thou, while I had to try and walk out all dignified, which is hard when you have the ass cut out of your jeans!" Elliott glares.
"Oh god! Your ass was out!" He laughs.
"It's not funny, I was trying new things! You should try it sometime, old man." Elliott sneers. "Anyway, Burt said that Blaine would be here by approximately two and that you should meet him at the airport."
Kurt grunts in reply.
"Oh yeah?"
"Sometimes it just seems like my father wants us to be in a relationship more than either of us want to." Kurt sighs, standing with a groan before gathering his things. "Oh god, what am I wearing?" He whines, looking down at his body, that is dressed in a tight black lace button down and short red shorts.
"Sexy clothes?" Elliott supplies.
"I can't be sexy, I'm engaged! Give me some clothes." Kurt demands.
"Pretty sure that kind of thinking is not healthy, but here you go." He says, standing and rummaging through the dresser in his closet for a tshirt and a pair of yoga pants.
"Are these women's yoga pants?" Kurt asks as he slips them up his legs.
"Yup!" Elliott says proudly, and Kurt let's it go.
"Thanks." He says, giving Elliott's cheek a kiss before heading to the bathroom to change.
They both make their way to Adam's place together because now Kurt's friends are friends and that's amazing, it's only the Glee friends that must be kept separate.
"Only a few hours left." Adam greets and Kurt groans.
"Is anyone going to address the fact that counting down the minutes until your fiancé arrives to finally live with you in horror and despair is not a normal thing?" Elliott asks and no one answers.
"I've made cake!" Adam exclaims with a wide grin and leads the boys into his tiny kitchenette. He goes into the refrigerator and pulls out a cake shaped like a grave stone, frosted sloppily with grey frosting, and reading the words; The Last Few Hours where a name should be.
They're all quiet for a moment and Adam shuffles nervously.
"The cake's not funny is it? I've tried to be clever and I've gone too far, haven't I?" He asks with a pout, but then Kurt bursts out laughing and gives him a tight hug.
"But this seriously is /not/ healthy!" Elliott tries again, even through his own laughter.
"I know! I know." Kurt whimpers and slumps down into a chair, making grabby hands at the utensil drawer until Adam hands him a fork. "I just...I'm stuck guys. I don't know what to do, I'm falling apart..." He trails off and stuffs his mouth with cake so that he has an excuse to not speak.
"Well, I think that once you see his face again, it'll all come rushing back, all of those feelings that you had for him. I mean, remember when you thought that you were over him, then you went back home and seen his face, and came back engaged." Adam reminds him.
"Last time I went back there, I had to rush home because I hated him so much." Kurt replies with his mouth full.
"So now you hate the man that you're going to marry?" Elliott asks with unimpressed eyes.
"No, no not at all. I love him, even. I just don't...like him." He shrugs. "It's like he's my little annoying cousin, or something."
"Well, that's a super healthy mind set."
"I think that you should have a talk with him, kitten. You know, before anyone gets hurt."
Kurt wants to tell him how much he himself is already hurt and has been over and over again, how Blaine likes to keep him down and tame and how all he wants to be is himself like he can be with them, but he keeps it in because he knows that by the end of the night he will belong to Blaine once again and he doesn't want them to judge how weak of a person he is for that."
"Well, El and I have already slept half my time away, I suppose I should be getting back home so that I can make myself all pretty for my man." He says and ignore the nauseous feeling he gets when they both 'aww'. "You kids have some fun without me." He told them, standing to hug Adam tightly. His arms are strong but gently, and his breath is soft against Kurt's neck and Kurt can't stop himself from kissing him when they pull back, but he is able to keep it chaste. He takes a long moment to just look into Adams eyes, and he almost gets visibly emotional at how much love are in them, and how that love is directed at him. He shakes the feelings away and gives Elliott a quick hug before he finally leaves to go home, even if it's really not that homey any more.
He arrives home not too much later, a bag of donuts in one hand and a tray of three coffees and a green tea in his other. "Treats!" He calls out as he sets everything down in the kitchen.
"Those are girl pants." Santana greets from where she's sitting at the table, dining on a bowl of cereal.
"Fashion has no gender." He says offhandedly.
"I got you a coffee, and you help yourself to a breakfast pastry." He offers, handing over the coffee.
"The hobbit's been keeping tabs on you for her hobbit brother." She smirks, taking the coffee. "Bet that he's not too delighted to know you've been out all night."
"Oh god." He groans.
"Where have you been?" Comes a whispered squeal. "I had to tell Blaine that you had an overnight shift." Rachel says, taking the tea with no surprise or gratuity.
"I went out with Elliott and we drank too much."
"Well, that's an irresponsible thing to do, especially for you."
"What do you mean, especially for me?
"Especially for a nice boy, I mean. A nice boy who's nice fiancé will be here in just a few hours." She rolls her eyes and Kurt gives it right back to her.
"See, this is the problem. I'm not a nice boy, Rachel."
"Alright, stop the cat fight, ladies." Santana rolls her eyes. "And, Kurt maybe you freshen up so that you don't smell like a gay bar when you pick up Blaine."
"I'm trying to look out for you, Kurt and you're acting like I'm some witch!" Rachel says in a frustrated tone and Kurt does feel a little bad because her eyes are wet.
"I know, but I'm a grown up now, Rach. All I need from you is to be my best friend." He tells her and gives her arm a squeeze before going to shower.
He gets all dressed, happy with himself when he does feel the need to look extra good for Blaine, but then he fears that it's only to show off and not necessarily for Blaine's pleasure. He lays back on his head with every intention to study, but instead he ends up looking up weird things on his phone, and then inevitably texting Sebastian.
To Sebastian: how was the orgy?
To Kurt: I can't really remember, but I'm satisfied, even if my sofa is gone.
To Sebastian: You're sofa is gone?
To Kurt: Yup.
To Sebastian: ?
To Kurt: someone, probably a few people, stole my sofa. It's gone.
To Sebastian: Sebastian! How much was that thing? It was gorgeous!
To Kurt: I don't know, but white is dangerous anyway, I eat pasta with meat sauce like everyday. I was bound to ruin it anyway, I guess.
Kurt can't help but chuckle adoringly at how cute Sebastian's dietary habits are, but quickly shakes himself out of it because that's not really something he should think.
To Sebastian: So you're just going to let them have your sofa and most likely sell it without even getting them in trouble?
To Kurt: sure, why not.
To Sebastian: you're life is so strange.
To Kurt: You're one to talk.
To Sebastian: What's that mean?
To Kurt: You've been treating this day as if it's the day you will die.
Kurt smiles again because Sebastian has apparently kept his countdown even though Kurt hasn't really reminded him everyday like he has with Adam and Elliott.
To Sebastian: Aww, you kept count.
Because he can't help himself.
To Kurt: I did :)
To Sebastian: You're cute sometimes.
To Kurt: Stop flirting with me.
To Sebastian: I don't want this to happen. Not at all. I don't want to have to see him, to live with him, to lose all of my friends to him, and I definitely don't want to fall in love with him again.
To Kurt: I'm having a party tonight, tell him to fuck off and come over.
To Sebastian: Do you honestly think I can do that.
To Kurt: I think that you could be pushed into doing that.
To Sebastian: By you?
To Kurt: By him.
To Kurt: I don't know, just follow what feels good babe.
To Sebastian: Thanks.
Kurt's smiling wide when Blaine comes walking over to the baggage claim, where Kurt's waiting for him. He's of course thinking of how Sebastian called him 'babe', but Blaine's handsome face does make the smile widen. They embrace each other tightly and Blaine kisses his cheek. They don't speak until they're in the cab on the way to Kurt's apartment.
They're quiet for a while, Blaine looks out the window and Kurt sends silly texts back and forth with Adam. He turns to look at the boy beside him when he notices the lack of communication and he breaks when he sees a lone and silent tear run down Blaine's cheek.
It's sad, but it makes him smile softly because this is the most human thing he's ever seen on Blaine. It's true emotion, not emotion. For attention or for manipulation, but for pure discontentment.
"Blaine?" He says gently and Blaine blinks more tears out.
Kurt's already shattered heart aches for the boy and he wants nothing more than to take Blaine into his arms and tell him how good he's done and to take full blame for whatever it is that has happened, but he doesn't. That wouldn't be honest.
"Blainey?" He tries again, shimmying closer to lay his head on the boy's shoulder.
"I don't think that we should spend any time together, Kurt. Not for a while at least." Blaine says finally, his voice rough and low.
"Okay." Kurt whispers. "I love you, Blaine. I really do."
Blaine scoffs in a way that sounds like he's saying 'get real' and then Kurt thinks that maybe Blaine and him fell out of love long ago, that maybe they would have been like Tina and Mike; they would have once had something great that they would always cherish. Instead he and Blaine had kept each other around as security blankets, ruining any sort of romance to look back upon fondly, now when they would reminisce they'd only think about how hard it was to break free of, how much the other had changed.
"I want to keep you in my life, Blaine." He tells him pleadingly. He's lost enough people to know how important relationships are and even if Blaine doesn't feel it, Kurt still loves him.
"Okay, but I'll need some time." Blaine says softly and brings a hand up to stroke Kurt's cheek.
"Sure thing. I'll stay at a friends for a few days." He says to assure Blaine, but he just scoffs bitterly and rolls his eyes, Kurt's sure that if Blaine were a less honorable gentleman, he'd have called Kurt a slut.
Kurt does cry a little when he tells Elliott how it happened, but Elliott doesn't let him get too emotional, because he's really funny and sort of self centered, so he mostly interrupts him with his own similar stories.
They get ready for Sebastian's party together and Kurt kicks himself for not thinking to grab some clothes before he dashed to Elliott's. He ends up wearing his skinny jeans with the black undershirt he had on under his button-up, and luckily Elliott loans him a scarf.
The party isn't that big, but it's big enough that Kurt hasn't had time to talk to Sebastian himself. When he finally finds him, he's alone in the kitchen, eating chips and salsa, and looking nervous and tired.
"Hey, you. You alright?" He asks, moving towards him and taking a chip for himself.
"Mm." He mutters in answer and looks over at Kurt. "How'd you do it."
"It was quiet and mutual and easy." Kurt tells him, still surprised himself.
"Easy is good."
"Easy also makes me feel like it probably should have happened sooner than now." Kurt points out with a shrug.
"Well, how do feel now? Now that you're free."
"Happy, relieved, a little sad, and a lot flirty." He teases, biting his tongue and feeding Sebastian a chip that he eats with a sexy half smile, but he turns serious a moment later.
"Listen, Kurt."
"Oh god, are you Adam? I get enough of this from him, I never thought that I'd get it from you." Kurt whines, but keeps his tone playful.
"Just shut up and listen." Sebastian says impatiently. "I'm a mess, Kurt. I'm a /disaster/ and I'm like...like I think being social, and maybe having some friends isn't a terrible thing. You see, I don't actually have any friends though. I mean, I have all these boys that are here right now, but that's only because I'm rich and have amazing sexual skills. Don't go crazy and get all awwey and giggly, but you seem to be the only person I can stand to actually speak to, and I'd like to make you my friend." He finishes with a nod, looking proud of himself and Kurt can't help but wonder how long he's been thinking of saying this, or maybe how long someone has been urging him to say this.
"Okay." He nods back, a smile forming on his face as he steps in to kiss Sebastian's cheek tenderly.
"Stop it." Sebastian laughs and swats Kurt's hand away as it slyly runs up his shirt.
"I never said that I'd make it easy on you, Smythe." He says in a low, velvety tone and walks off, being sure to wiggle his hips enticingly, feeling liberated, sexy, and finally guilt free.
