Dress Code
- Inspiration from File No.15 -
A man of perfection does not only rely on brains. Yagami Raito played right the rules of the society, in which included the consciousness of personal grooming and the choice of attire. He had to look decent, or more than that – polished. It was not a clever choice for the God of the Human world to be criticized for such easy matter.
Yes, it was an easy matter about selecting the right clothing for the right occasion. One needs not to wear fancy or expensive garments. You don't have to be in Harajuku style to prove your sense of fashion. You don't have to dress Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Gucci to represent how prestigious you are. Yagami Raito always practiced the proper and simple dress code, whether in school or at work, and nevertheless when dating females – he was still an eye candy for the passers-by.
Collaborating with his father's investigation team aroused his pursuit to know one of the many mysteries of L, alias Ryuuzaki. Aside from the unknown man's true name, as Yagami Raito desired to write it on the Death Note, he also wondered the stock in L's wardrobe. The incognito never had a slight variation to put on himself, whether to attend Toudai's opening speech ceremony, a funeral, or being on sleep. Day and night of all seasons, you could only expect a long-sleeve white T-shirt and loose blue jeans. In positive description, L's style was raw, wild. If you put it alternately: Sloppy. Messy.
Yagami Raito once suspected L was in financial crisis, as many people believed at first glance. But considering he was the famous detective "L", this didn't make any sense when the man actually owns a Rolls-Royce, a highly-secured building, posh design furniture, and an altar of high-class confectionery for continuous serving.
This was when Yagami Raito couldn't bear L's lack of clothes; he suggested a day off for the two to shop for some. Of course, L declined the idea and insisted not to waste any time in tracking Kira's whereabouts. To assure he was a neat person who will do laundry on daily basis, L exclusively demonstrated his private closet to his counterpart. In awe, Yagami Raito never imagined an individual only owned –––
365 Armani Exchange
long-sleeve white T-shirts;
365 Levis blue jeans (L
size);
2 pairs of Converse
white sneakers; and
32 dozens of Calvin
Klein grey hip briefs.
Hence, Yagami Raito deduced, his sole rival was either too lazy or had null intelligence in the fashion department.
