AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'M BAAAAAACK! So let's see, a week of vacation, new work schedule, I actually have a social life (this is a new development (J.K.)), and yeah, that's everything. I'm so sorry about the wait, but I have compromised by making a nice long one! Also, this may or may not be a two-parter.
"A lake house?"
Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel were downtown sitting outside a small café. The same one Gregor and Elsa had their lunch the day they became a couple just a few weeks ago. This café was starting to become the groups little hang out. The girls were getting in some quality time in mid July before the beginning of August, which after three weeks of starting, Anna would be heading back to college to start her sophomore year.
Rapunzel nodded with an excited smile. "Yep. My parents own a lake house about 50 miles out of town. We usually go every year but my mom and dad decided they wanted a second honeymoon and told me to invite some friends up there for the weekend."
She took a huge sip of her caramel mocha, looking at the two siblings expectantly. Anna was all for it.
"Sounds like so much fun!" She turned to Elsa. "Elsa, let's go! It'll be a blast."
Elsa held up a hand. "Hold on, Anna." Her little sister pouted while Elsa looked over to the brunette. "What weekend, Punze?"
"Two weeks from this coming Friday. You guys have something planned?"
There was a beat as Elsa thought over her upcoming schedule. "No, I don't think so. I mean, Gregor and I were gonna see that new movie coming out that weekend, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind rescheduling."
Rapunzel and Anna exchanged knowing looks. Elsa may sometimes treat her relationship as a business deal, but no matter how hard she would try, a blush and certain light in her eyes would appear whenever she talked about him. She was currently avoiding eye contact with them for that very reason.
"Oh, he's invited, too." Rapunzel replied. "So is Kristoff." She said to Anna.
Anna brightened up even more. "Really? So I take it Eugene's gonna be there as well?"
"You got it."
"Hold up." Eyes were back on Elsa. "Your parents are okay with three couples staying at a lake house, overnight, alone?"
Rapunzel laughed. "Els, it's not like we're sixteen anymore. We're college graduates! My parents trust us. They know we're adults and make our own choices."
Elsa gnawed her bottom lip, her blush not receding. "Room situations?"
Rapunzel opened her mouth to answer but was cut off by a loud groan from Anna. "Come on, Elsa! For once forget planning things to every last detail and have fun!" Anna turned to Rapunzel. "We're going." She confirmed.
"Anna!"
"Just trust me, sis." Anna stared into her eyes. "Please, Elsa?"
Elsa looked over at her sister's pleading face and Rapunzel's anxious one. Both kept their gaze on her with anticipation. Elsa thought over what Anna said as well as Rapunzel. No matter how much she wished to deny it, her baby sister was all grown up: 19 years old and entering her second year of college. It didn't even feel like it had been only a year they've lived together, but at the same time it felt like more after everything they had learned about each other and how stronger their bond had become. Kristoff and Anna were also coming up on one year of dating, a big step when ones in college while the other works a full-time job.
Elsa closed her eyes and gave a long sigh. When she was done a small smile tugged at the end of her lips. "Okay."
"Yes!" Anna and Rapunzel both squealed and threw their hands up in victory. Anna grabbed Elsa in a hug while Rapunzel got up from her chair and did the same on her other side. Elsa giggled and let them squish her.
"I promise Elsa, this is going to be great!" Rapunzel guaranteed.
"Anna, let's go! I don't wanna be late!" Elsa shouted up the steps. She held a small duffel packed with three days worth of clothes along with a backpack stuffed with things for hiking.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." Anna trotted down the stairs holding the same gear.
Despite being the more girly of the two, Anna knew how to pack light due to many years of overnight camps and having to bring her load of stuff from their aunt and uncle's when she moved in. Both girls were the same in terms of wearing make-up and appearances, but Anna had a number of clothes and shoes compared to her older sister. Elsa was also a tad more conservative, but wasn't against a nice pair of shorts when she saw them.
"We also have to drop off Olaf."
As if the feline heard his name, he came bounding around the corner and down the stairs. He rubbed up against both the girls, purring and meowing for attention. He seemed to sense his two favorite girls were leaving him and wouldn't let them go without some much needed loving. Anna scooped him up and gave him what he wanted.
"It's only three days, bud. We'll be back before you know it."
A meow in response. He rubbed his head up and down her cheek. He was purring, so he didn't seem too upset.
"Besides," Anna continued. "you love going to the kennel. People fawn over you all day everyday. Spoiled little prince."
Elsa laughed and gave him a scratch and kiss. "I'll get his carrier."
The girls and their boyfriends decided to carpool to save gas. Eugene and Rapunzel left earlier to make sure the house was fully stocked with food and drinks. They also had to get the beds ready with clean sheets and blankets.
When they were close to the house, Elsa had Anna dial Gregor and put it on speaker.
"Prince Charming here." He answered with the most ridiculous accent they ever heard. Anna gave a small snort and looked over at Elsa.
She kept her eyes on the road, but her mouth was twitched up with amusement. "Funny, I thought I was calling my boyfriend. Must've dialed the wrong number."
Anna burst out laughing. Elsa giggled with a satisfied smirk.
"...Well played. What's up?" Gregor asked after a pause.
"We're about five minutes away." Anna answered.
"Got it." Gregor shouted away from the speaker. "Girls will be here in five!"
"Okay!" They heard Kristoff answer distantly.
"See you soon, girls."
"You did not!" Anna roared with laughter.
"I was ten! How was I supposed to know tinfoil caught on fire?" Kristoff managed between his chuckles.
Kristoff and her were in the back while Elsa drove upfront with Gregor. Within ten minutes Anna was bored and decided to ask Gregor a question. One turned into two and before everyone knew it the girls were sharing stories from when they were young as well as tales from Kristoff about his huge family.
"Oh, I got one." Gregor said with a grin.
All eyes landed on him with the exception of his girlfriend. She glanced over but kept her eyes forward.
"When I was about four or five my mom took me to a petting zoo. It was filled with the typical animals: sheep, rabbits, ponies, etcetera. Well, they also had goats." Kristoff snickered, having a feeling he knew where this was going. Anna and Elsa kept listening intently. "Now, they had these dispensers where if you put in a quarter you could feed them. So my mom let me have a handful and I began feeding them. At first it was like two or three and then they all seemed to be coming right towards me. I panicked and threw the feed up and started running away." Everyone in the car chuckled. "However, I didn't understand that by doing that I threw the grains all over myself. So for a good five minutes I had about eight mini goats chasing me around the pen as I tried to get away." Everyone started laughing hysterically, Gregor included.
Anna held her breath as she tried to speak. "Wh-What did your mom do?"
"She and all the other moms had a good laugh. She knew they would never hurt me and were only hungry. She tried telling me to just stop running but had trouble as she was trying while in the middle of a fit of giggles."
Everyone started up once again. Gregor laughed softly and looked over at Elsa. She was smiling wide while trying to contain her laughter.
"So if a mini goat ever came after me, I would be on my own?" She quipped.
"Yep." Gregor answered accenting the "p".
Elsa glanced over at him. "Jerk." She muttered with a smirk.
"Ah, you love me." He quickly pecked her on the cheek. Elsa went red and swerved a little.
"Hey!" Anna yelled from the back with a nervous chuckle. "No distracting the driver!"
"Sorry." The two upfront muttered.
"Wait, what?!" Elsa stood with her duffel on one shoulder, backpack on the other. He face was scarlet. Gregor was next to her holding his own knapsack and a cooler with a lighter blush than her.
Rapunzel shrugged her shoulders with a sheepish smile. "I thought you knew. We only have three bedrooms. I didn't think it would be an issue."
"Not an iss - Rapunzel!"
Gregor placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's fine, Els. I'll just sleep on the couch." He turned pointedly to Rapunzel. "You do have a couch, right?"
She nodded. "Yes, but I really don't see what the problem is. Can't you just switch with Anna and stay with Kristoff?"
Anna and Kristoff both made to object, but couldn't find the right words without causing themselves to blush. Elsa sighed and calmed herself down.
They've been dating for a year. They're in love. She kept repeating to herself. "Doesn't mean I have to like it." She grumbled under her breath.
"What was that?" Gregor asked.
"Nothing." Elsa looked between him and Rapunzel. "It's fine, Punze. I was just caught off guard is all."
"Are you sure? Cause I don't mind - "
"It's fine. Really." Elsa gave a tiny grin. "We can share a room."
"Of course there's one bed. Why wouldn't there be?"
Gregor dared to actually laugh. Elsa sent him a small glare. "I think this is the most sarcastic I've ever seen you."
Elsa managed a smirk. "Keep that up and you will be sleeping on the couch."
"Yes, ma'am."
They heard footsteps running down the hall and soon Anna's head popped in. "Come on, you two! We're going swimming!"
Elsa sighed heavily and bent down to rummage in her duffel, looking for her swimsuit. "Okay, we'll be right there."
Anna nodded and bounded off to catch up with the rest of the gang.
Elsa found her suit and crumpled it in her hand as she used the other to zip her bag back up. Gregor couldn't help but notice it was a two-piece. One eyebrow slowly went up. Elsa turned to address him and saw him quickly look away with the guiltiest expression.
"I'll take the bathroom. You can change in here. Yell when you're done."
And with that she strutted out. Gregor noticed how she seemed a bit tense and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Two nights," He said to himself. "Just two nights."
The girls shrieked as all three men jumped in creating a giant cannonball, drenching them. They were laid out on the dock just talking and having a good time when they heard the sound of footsteps running against wood. It sounded like a mini stampede. Before they knew it, the guys had jumped off, leaving a wave in their wake.
"Eugene!" Rapunzel yelled, but had a smile on her face and was laughing.
Said man came up and bobbed around as he trend water. "Yes, my love?"
"You got our towels soaked!" Anna and Elsa were wringing out the ones they sat on while Rapunzel semi-scowled at her boyfriend.
"Ah, but you see that is what the sun is for. A natural dryer machine." He replied smugly.
Rapunzel rolled her eyes lovingly.
"Besides," Kristoff cut in. "What's the point of you girls wearing bathing suits if you're not gonna go in the water?"
"We were going to go in," Elsa replied. "We just wanted to get warm before jumping in freezing cold water."
"You do realize the hotter you are, the colder the water will seem." Gregor pointed out.
All three girls exchanged exasperated looks.
"This is what we get for putting all three together." Rapunzel quipped.
"I'm regretting it already." Elsa agreed with a sigh.
"Maybe we can still fix this." Anna suggested.
"Too late!" Eugene cried with a grin. He floated so he was in the middle of Kristoff and Gregor and put his arms around them. "We've bonded. Yaaaay!" He said, having his voice go a few octaves higher.
The girls groaned.
Anna got up and positioned herself into a dive. She dove in and swam up so she was a few feet in front of the three men. She looked back behind her. "Well, come on. I need backup."
Elsa and Rapunzel shared a laugh and then jumped in, making sure to cause a splash in revenge.
After engaging in what possibly could be described as the most immature water fight ever, the little group of four rested on the dock. Rapunzel and Eugene went off by themselves for a little while. Anna and Elsa were on their backs on towels while Kristoff and Gregor sat up with their legs dangling off the edge.
Elsa fished out a bottle of sunscreen from her beach bag and began applying it. Anna sat up and rested on her elbows.
"Again? That's the third coat you've put on."
"Anna, I burn easily, remember? I'm rather pale."
Gregor scooted closer to Elsa. "You wanna go inside? I don't want you burning." He said with concern.
Elsa shook her head. "I'll be alright. I just have to put on another layer after swimming."
She finished up with her arms and started working on her legs. She stretched them out and rubbed in the lotion while at the same time massaging her calfs. Gregor looked away when he saw a smirk playing on Anna's lips. Elsa finished up with her stomach, her ice blue bikini making it both difficult and easy. She continued with her shoulders and reached as far back as she could before grunting in frustration.
"Anna? Mind doing my back?"
Anna made an inaudible grunt.
"Anna?"
She was ignored. Anna had a pair of aviators on so it was hard to tell if she was asleep, or ignoring her. It had better be the former.
"Want me to help?" Gregor offered.
Elsa nodded and handed him the bottle. "Thanks. Careful, it spills out fast."
Gregor applied a quarter size to his palm and rubbed the lotion into her back. Elsa relaxed and sat still. Gregor suddenly stopped. "Uh, do you...want me to do your lower back?"
Elsa blushed but nodded her head. They sat in silence before Elsa made to speak. "I'm sorry about earlier."
"What for?" He capped the bottle and tossed it back into her bag.
"About the room situation. I was acting like a child." She mumbled.
"No you weren't." He argued. "It's fine, Elsa. I mean, I get it. How...uncomfortable you must feel."
Elsa brought her knees up and rested her chin on them, wrapping her arms around her shins. "You don't make me uncomfortable, Gregor. Quite the opposite, actually." She smiled at him. "I just tend to make normal situations awkward."
"No, you don't. You make them fun." He kissed her temple. "Now, I have one question and one question only. It is of the utmost importance and urgency."
Elsa laughed. "Okay, shoot."
"What side," He paused for dramatic effect making her giggle. "of the bed do you sleep on?"
"Alright then, we're gonna slow things down for the next song. So if you came here with a special someone, grab him or her and get on the dance floor."
The group had decided to go out to a nearby pier for a party on the beach. A huge bonfire was lit and people gathered on the pier, sands, and everywhere in between to talk and hang out. Anna and Elsa wore jean shorts with a sweater, the summer night getting cold. Anna donned an Arendelle University sweatshirt while Elsa wore a handmade turquoise pullover their aunt Gerda made. Rapunzel wore skinny jeans and a purple tank with a design of the sun outlined in yellow.
Rapunzel wasted no time in pulling Eugene on the dance floor. After all, they first started falling for each other after a dance during a lantern festival. Just as before Eugene tried to pass, but was pulled by the hand and just couldn't say no to her.
Anna followed behind them eagerly with Kristoff. Gregor smiled down at Elsa and offered his hand. Elsa gave her own soft grin and let him lead her after the other two couples.
The low tempo started and partners began to pair up. Gregor closed the gap between them and placed both his hands on her waist. Elsa responded by wrapping her hands around his neck. She smiled sheepishly.
"You know I can't dance."
"Says who?"
He led them in a slow sway as the first verse began.
Well I just met you a couple hours ago
My last night in town, hey wouldn't you know
I get hooked on a girl with blue diamond eyes
Down here in Mexico, oh
"It's not Mexico, but your eyes are diamonds."
"Oh, shut up, you."
Now you're walking up asking me to dance
You're smiling that smile and reaching out your hand
Well there's a move or two, I'd like to show you
While I still got the chance
Gregor took one of her hands resting on the back of his neck and used it to spin Elsa around. She giggled and when he pulled her back to him she gently rolled her eyes.
Well you got the soul and you know how to use it
Put your hand on my hip cause you know that I'll lose it
You got my heart racing like there's nothing to it
Falling in love to the beat of the music
Elsa took a quick glance around and found Rapunzel and Eugene to the far end while Anna and Kristoff were right in the center. Both were transfixed with each other, looking as if they were the only two there. Elsa got that affectionate gaze again, happy for her sister.
Oh oh, why wouldn't I wanna stay?
Oh oh, let that plane fly away, hey hey
"Hey, you really gotta stop doing that."
"Doing what?"
Cause you got the soul and you know how to use it
Put your hand on my hip cause you know that I'll lose it
You got my heart racing like there's nothing to it
Falling in love to the beat of the music
The beat of the music
"You're killing me when you get that look on your face. It's too adorable."
I think I could get used to that steel drum playing
Waking up on a beach if you know what I'm saying
One more night would be more than alright with me
So hold on baby cause
"Are you drunk?"
Gregor laughed and kissed her. Elsa widened her eyes in shock but soon was returning it. He pulled away and chuckled.
You got the soul and you know how to use it
Put your hand on my hip cause you know that I'll lose it
You got my heart racing like there's nothing to it
Falling in love to the beat of the music
We're falling in love to beat of the music
Beat of the music
"You really have no idea the affect you have on me."
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Did you like it?! Are you getting diabetes from the sweetness?! Everyone whose seen Frozen knows Elsa has a sort of sassy/sarcastic side. Her facial expressions during Let it Go, tricking the Duke of Weselton to dance with Anna instead of her, yeah, she's a little mischievous. Since I haven't been on in awhile I would LOVE reviews more than ever! PLEASE, OH PLEASE, OH PLEASE!
