Chapter 5: The One where nobody acknowledges that like half a year passed

Ike went off and then realized something odd. He saw that Little Mac was around. This was odd as Assist Trophies usually come later. Like, he hadn't seen Lyn yet, and he was sure she was one of those. No matter, might as well ask why the hell the guy is here.

"Hey Mac! What gives? Why are you practicing so much anyway?", shouted Ike.

Mac heard and responded by saying, "Ike, didn't you hear? They just confirmed a buncha new guys! I'm actually joining the fray this time! You better look out for my speedy fists!"

"Wait, does that mean I got confirmed? Nobody tells me anything anymore. The internet here sucks anyway."

"Uh, no. It was kind of a theoretical statement. Shiek and Yoshi are coming back. And uh, Charizard is too.'

"Wow, I must have missed a lot. I suppose I better check on other veterans. What about newcomers? Oh, I bet it must be good. After all, you are a damn good fighter. Tell me."

Little Mac started to get nervous.

"Well Ike, I uh, hmm."

"I want to know Mac. Besides, it HAS to be good. It was Isaac, huh? Ray 01 from Custom Robo?"

"You see Ike, they wanted "newer" characters."

"Oh. I see though. Wonder Red is new, and he's a cool guy. And you know, I would be down to fight with someone from Kid Icarus now that its back."

"THEY PICKED ROSALINA IKE! THAT'S WHO THEY CHOSE"

Ike was taken aback. Either Mac was screwing with him on a ridiculous level or the entire world stopped making sense. Out of the established Nintendo franchises in existence, there were approximately 7000 better choices than Rosalina. For once, Waluigi would have been a better option. The marshmellow from Super Mario RPG would have been a better option. But screw that, girl power. Let's ignore her role as an NPC in like one game and say yeah.

That's Smash Bros. material.

"That's it Mac. I'm done."

Mac started to become concerned for Ike.

"Dude, you gotta still have hope. There was another newcomer you know!"

Ike realized that hope still existed. This could totally balance out that blunder of a choice. Maybe it was Oscar, somehow.

"Alright, I'll listen.", said Ike.

"It's Greninja. You know, the water starter from the new Pokemon."

"Mac, I dunno what the hell that is."

"He's uh, a fairly recent character. After all, X and Y haven't been out for too long."

At this point, Ike was in deep though. How long had it been since the Pokemon games? It felt like a moment but it also felt like six months. Either way that's total bullshit, I mean Roy was understandable to some degree but this? No. It didn't help that none of them really knew what a Greninja was until 3 months ago when Pokemon Trainer blabbed about it. Wonder where he went.

"Mac, I gotta go do a thing."

"What is it?"

Little Mac raised an excellent question. Ike then realized he need to find out what he was even doing before doing whatever that was.

Will Ike find out the source of the strangeness?

Why did nothing happen for six months?

Is my boy Snake coming back because he was a nasty sucks to play as with the booms and the bams. I dig that kinda stuff.
