The new life of Sirius Black.
Sirius sat in the back of a car while an old friend of his, Kenny Saxton, drove him to where he would be staying.
He had been stunned when he was dragged out of his cell at Azkaban and taken to a court room where he was proved innocent. He had spent a few months getting treated for the affects from Azkaban before he was released to Kenny, who was now taking him to live with Jenifer Honey and her two adopted children. He couldn't believe it when Kenny had told him that it was because of his godson that he was free, and that his godson was one of Jenny's adopted children, and that her other adopted child was Harry's supposed dead sister.
When they arrived at the Honey's house Sirius was still in shock. Kenny guided him up the steps and through the door where they were met with the Honeys.
Sirius kneeled in front of Harry.
"Harry, I'm so happy to see you."" he said while trying to hold back his sobs.
Sirius threw his arms around Harry in a hug, happy to hold his reason for keeping sane in that hellhole. Harry let himself be hugged, knowing the man needed it, but also already feeling comfortable with him.
Sirius then turned to Matilda.
"Are you really…" he broke off.
"Yes." Matilda answered.
"But how?"
"There was a mix-up at the hospital."
Sirius gave her a hug too before standing up and facing Jenny.
"I can't ever thank you enough for what you've done." he told her.
"I took the children in because I cared for them, taking you in was their decision, they wanted to get to know you."
"Thank you, thank you…" Sirius said repeatedly, finally letting go of his tears.
After Sirius had finished his emotional breakdown he was taken to his new bedroom.
A few days after Sirius arrived their was frantic knocking at the front door. When Jenny opened the door she found a young woman with black hair in pigtails, green eyes, dressed in brown boots, jeans, a white shirt, a red jacket, and a green scarf, and at her side was a brown satchel.
"Hello." she said, her accent distinctly Greek. "Is where I can find the Honeys?"
"Yes."
"Good, is…" just then the woman caught sight of Sirius, who was coming down the stairs. "PADFOOT!" she suddenly yelled.
Sirius just had enough time to say, "Maria?" before he found the woman cannonballing into him and wrapping her arms around his middle.
"I came as soon as I got word." Maria voice was muffled from Sirius' chest. "I'm so happy you're out."
"Sirius, who's this?" Harry asked.
"This is an old friend on mine, Maria." Sirius explained.
"Hello." Maria greeted.
"That already know about magic and slayers, you don't need to hide yourself." Sirius told Maria.
"Oh, good." she said.
Maria's hair suddenly turned silver, her eyes gold, and she de-aged to look 15.
"Why don't you all go sit down and catch up while I make something?" Jenny
In the living room Sirius, Maria and the siblings sat down.
"How did you do that just now?" Matilda asked.
"I have magic that allows me to adjust my appearance and age. I'm actually very old, though I don't act it." Maria answered.
"How do you and Sirius?" Harry asked.
"Maria's actually the reason I became a slayer in the first place." Sirius answered.
The siblings had been shocked when they found out Sirius was a slayer like the Saxtons, but quickly came to accept it in their crazy lives.
"When I was fairly young I had managed to escape my parents after some…tough love. Maria found me and helped me." Sirius started explaining.
"I saw Sirius had potential and so started training him in slayer ways without letting on about slayers and all that. Eventually the training paid off when we became surrounded by demons, we managed to beat them back before my sisters arrived to help. I told Sirius about the world of the slayers and he became one himself. I offered him a place in the school my sisters and I run, which doubles as a slayer school for slayer children, but he declined for certain reasons." Maria finished.
The Saxtons, Honeys and Sirius were at a funfair for Harry and Matilda's 9th birthday, the siblings were on a rollercoaster while the Saxton sisters were waiting in line. Vida looked over to where the adults were waiting and Layla followed her.
"Twenty on them getting together." Vida said, pointing at Jenny and Sirius, who were talking together with a certain look in their eyes.
Layla looked at her sister pointedly and shook her head.
*Fools bet.* Aria commented.
"I guess it is a bit obvious." Vida said. "Want to bet how long until he proposes then?"
Sirius and Jenny were in the living room after sending Harry and Matilda to bed.
"Jenny, I've come to really get to know you over the months I've spent with you, and I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me." Sirius suddenly said.
At first Jenny was shocked but then answered with an excited 'yes'.
Around the corner Matilda and Harry were hidden, smiling at each other. They quietly ran back to their room and picked up a walkie-talkie.
"Vida, Layla, are you there?" Harry asked into the speaker.
"We're here, what's the news?" came Vida's voice.
"Sirius has just asked mum to go out and she accepted." Harry told them.
"Ha, we knew it! Remember, if he proposes before the year is out, you owe me twenty." Vida said before she cut off communication.
"I hope it's after the year is out." Harry commented before he and his sister went to sleep.
Sirius had proposed on the 5th of November in a fancy restaurant, Jenny accepting while others in the restaurant clapped at Sirius' courage. When the children had found out they were ecstatic, though Harry begrudgingly handed over twenty bucks to a smug Vida.
The wedding was planed. Harry was the ring barer, Matilda was the bridesmaid who was to hold the wedding trail on Jenny's dress, Vida and Layla were flower girls, Martha and Maria were the other bridesmaids, and Kenny was the best man. Maria's sisters had also come over to help with the wedding; Zoë was to be the one to marry the couple, Crysta was the one to design and make all the dresses and suits, Melody was in charge of music, and Dora was going to paint a picture of the married couple.
As the wedding started Sirius stood at the front in a black suit with Kenny and Harry not that far away, Zoë stood in a silver Greek-style dress - that all of her sisters were wearing - with an open book floating in front of her. As Melody began to play the organ to a wedding march Vida and Layla appeared at the back, Vida in a red dress with white accents and Layla in a black dress with white accents, both holding a basket full of petals, they danced up the aisle throwing the petals in the air as the went. Behind the girls in came Jenny dressed in pure white and wearing a veil and holding a bouquet of flowers. Matilda was holding the wedding trail off the ground, Martha - wearing a purple dress - and Maria walked either side of her holding their own flowers.
"Dearly beloved…" Zoë read the things usually said for a wedding before asking the couple if they wanted to marry.
"I do." said Sirius.
"I do." said Jenny.
"You may now kiss the bride." Zoë concluded.
The couple kissed and Jenifer Honey became Jenifer Black. Jenny threw her bouquet into the crowd of woman to catch as they left the alter.
As people joined in the wedding party Harry and Matilda couldn't help but look back at how weird their life now was; they had magic, they were separated at birth before finding each other, Matilda was thought to be dead by all who knew about her apart from Sirius and the Saxtons, Harry had defeated an evil wizard at age one, they were both adopted, they were being trained by slayers, their best friends were slayers in training and had their own convoluted history, their new dad was a slayer and ex-convict. It seemed that Jenny was the only normal one among them. And they were only nine, who knew what the future would bring.
Sirius is freed and married all in one chapter, I'm too lazy to write more than that. Remus isn't in this yet because Sirius was moved to America before word got out about his release, and Sirius is apprehensive about having contact with him again. I do wonder what Remus' reaction is going to be when he finds out about Sirius being married.
The Muses here are different from Muse academy. They still run the academy for all but there are some changes to fit the story. The Muses are no longer legacies of the Greek and Roman pathogens, they are instead legacies of Merlin (history about that later). The academy is set in an unpalatable land in Greece. The school also trains slayer children. I'll tell you if any other changes need to be addressed.
