Finally Rory was alone. After all that happened today she definitely needed a break. Especially after talking to her mother about being ready to take the next step in her relationship with Jess. Thank god that was over. Even though she saw her mother as her best friend, sex was a topic she didn't really liked to discuss with her, particulary when it also includes Jess. Although Lorelei tried to hide her disapproval of their relationship, it was obvious that she wasn't too happy about it.
Sighing Rory fell onto her bed. She grabbed Howl from her bedside table and began to read the notes he left in the margins, finally feeling relaxed again. After some time she slowly drifted off into sleep...
Shortly after midnight a tapping sound woke her up. Disorientated she looked around. Finally she comprehended that the tapping noise came from her window. Turning to it, her blue eyes met his coffee brown ones, making her swallow. It wasn't the first time he visited her at night without anybody knowing, but today it felt different. Well, might be because he never came to her after she told her mom that she considered sleeping with him. Slowly she made her way to the window all the time keeping eye contact with him. He was smirking on the other side but Rory was too nervous to even see it, nor did she see the amusement in his eyes. He could tell by her composure that she was nervous even though he didn't really know why. Admittedly he was nervous himself, after all there was a special reason for his visit. After opening the window she was greated properly by her boyfriend who pulled her into a short but sweet kiss. Pulling away he rested his forehead against hers.
„Hey" he said smirk still in place maintaining his own nervousness under control.
„Hey! What are you doing here?" she asked trying to keep her voice steady.
„Oh you know, I thought I go and visit my girlfriend. Besides we didn't get to finish what we started
a little while ago." he said in his trademark Jess voice.
„Now we can't have that" Rory chuckled her nervousness forgotten simply by looking into his eyes.
Before Rory had time to comprehend what was happening, Jess brushed his lips against hers. But this time it was neither short nor sweet. This kiss was full of passion like the ones they shared that afternoon . Jess hand came up to caress her cheek while hers were tangeld in his hair. Pulling him closer (which was pretty hard considering that the window was between them), she deepened the kiss. God she loved kissing him. Eventually, they broke apart, trying to regaint their breath.
„Now that was definitely worth coming." Rory blushed a beatiful shade of red making Jess chuckle.
„There was actually something I wanted to tell you." Now his eyes were serious making her wonder what he was about to tell her. There was a vulnerability in his eyes she never saw before.
„What?" she wispered while she leaned her forehead against his looking deeply into his eyes.
Instead of an answer, he kissed her again with so much feeling Rory thought she might explode. Pulling away he whispered softly: „I love you, Rory."
Her face lit up in the most radiant smile he ever saw in his life. Jess loved her. Jess. Loved. Her.
He, Jess Mariano, the town bad boy, was in love with her, Rory Gilmore, the town princess.
„I love you, too.!" she wispered still smiling making him feel relieved and happy at the same time.
Then he leaned in giving her the most loving and caring kiss either of them ever experienced.
What ever was going to happen in the near future didn't matter at that moment, all that mattered was that they loved each other.
