First day of school.
The Saxton sisters walked down with the rest of Slytherin to the dungeons, where the Slytherin dorms were. Vida and Layla subconsciously tightening their grip on each other. After arriving at the common room, Snape gave his speak about the Slytherins sticking together before sending them off to bed. There was one dorm room per student but the Saxton sisters refused to be separated and shared their room. They unpacked what was needed from their trunks and put them in the appropriate places, they then set up a perch for Tanith and a bed for Tamamo to sleep in.
Before they went to bed they wrote a letter to their aunt and uncle explaining what they had found out about Neville.
As soon as the Black twins reached the common room they were attacked by their house mates. Being asked the expected questions of 'is Matilda your sister', 'how is she alive' and 'where have you been these past years'.
The questions were cut short as they were told to go to Dumbledore's office.
Harry and Matilda held each other's hand for strength as they went to face the man responsible for the six years of abuse that Harry suffered at the hands of the Dursleys. They arrived at the gargoyle guarding the entrance to Dumbledore's office and spoke the password, they knocked on the door and waited.
"Come in, Harry, Matilda." came Dumbledore's voice from the other side of the door.
Harry and Matilda made sure their fake minds and memories were in place before walking in.
"You asked to see us, headmaster?" Harry put on a fake nervous tone.
"Yes, my boy, I was wondering if you could tell us what happened to you and your sister." Dumbledore said in a grandfatherly voice and with an annoying twinkle in his eye.
Matilda and Harry fought the erg to say something rude to the old man.
"What do you mean, sir?"
"Well, I was wonder how your sister, who was previously thought dead, and you came together."
"I'll explain that sir." Matilda said. "It seems there was a mix-up at the hospital when we were born. As you might know, I had problems at birth and was taken to the ICU ward, it was there that I was somehow mixed up with the baby of another family. At least, that's what the most logical answer is."
"What happened to you after that?" Dumbledore asked, his eyes twinkling more.
Matilda felt something invade her false mind and new it was Dumbledore looking at her false memories, but she pretended to be ignorant.
"Well, for the first seven years of my life I lived with the Wormwoods, but they got into trouble with the law and so left me with my adopted mother, Miss Honey"
"When did you find Harry?"
"A little while after I got adopted the hospital finally found out about the switch and told me about it. Mom and I came to England to find the Potters, we were told that the Potters perished in a accident in their house and that Harry was sent to live with our aunt and uncle. We visited our aunt and uncle and they allowed mom to adopt Harry. We then went home and lived our lives until out letters came."
Dumbledore shifted through the children's false memories and found what they said to be backed up by them.
"That's good to know."
"Is there anything else you need to know, sir?" Harry asked. "Or may we go?"
"Are there any problems with your house or making friends?"
"It's too early to say sir." Matilda said.
"But now that you mentioned it, we had some trouble with a boy called Ron Weasley, he came into the compartment that we were sharing with another set of twins and acted very rude, then when we introduced the other twins he started to insult them and called them a dark and evil family, so we told him to leave." Harry said.
Though the twins couldn't see it, they knew that Dumbledore was inwardly fuming. They suspected that he had put Ron up to be Harry's friend so he could control him better.
"And, what is your relation to these other twins, there must be a reason Mr Weasley called them dark." Dumbledore asked.
"Their family called themselves the Saxtons, we met the twins not soon after we received our letters, they helped us get our stuff for Hogwarts and we met them again on the train so we sat with them since we were starting to become friends with them." Harry said.
"After we got Weasley to leave the compartment they told us that many viewed the Saxton family as dark because they refused to join a side during wars." Matilda said.
"I think that your little argument involving Mr Weasley and the Saxton twins has been a big misunderstanding." Dumbledore said. "His mother told me he tends to open his mouth before speaking, so he probably didn't mean to say those things about the twins. I'll tell Mr Weasley to apologise to the twins in the morning after I call you all here, then you can maybe start over and even become friends."
The twins felt strong compulsion charms coming towards them but easily fought them off.
"Maybe, sir." Matilda answered.
"You may leave, have a pleasant night." Dumbledore dismissed them.
As the twins turned to go Matilda accidentally (on purpose) dropped some gem stones through a hole that suddenly appeared in her pocket.
"Are you alright my girl? You seem to have a lot of stones in your pocket." Dumbledore said.
"I developed a habit of collecting these, I went overboard at a gem shop on the way here." Matilda lied as she pretended to laugh nervously.
The twins picked up every stone in sight but left some well hidden ones that had slid under things, and then left.
The little gem stones were actually a new invention that the Saxton sisters and Black twins had developed, recording devices. So as Dumbledore spoke to himself in his office, his words were unknowingly recorded.
When morning came the two sets of twins prepared themselves for the onslaught that the day would bring, especially to Harry and Matilda. Matilda and Harry quietly prepared themselves for the day and made sure their pets were happy before sneaking out of the common room, successfully making it out without waking or running into one person. They walked around the castle for awhile to get themselves used to the layout before heading to breakfast, they met the Saxton sisters and sat together at the Ravenclaw table, ignoring the reactions of the people around them.
"So, how was your night?" Vida asked the Black twins.
"We got asked a load of questions before getting called to Dumbledore's office to get a few questions by him." Matilda explained. "But I ended up dropping a few of my gems on his floor and I think I left a few up there."
Matilda dropped a subtle hint that she had planted the recording stones in Dumbledore's office to the Saxton sisters.
"We can ask to look for them when we go back up." Harry pretended to console his sister. "Dumbledore said he'd ask, you three, that boy from the train and us to his office to settle what had happened." he said to the sisters.
The children then pretended to just notice the looks they were being given.
"Why's everyone looking at us?" Harry asked.
A brave Ravenclaw that sat near them, unbothered like others, spoke up. "It's because Slytherins are sitting at the Ravenclaw table, houses usually sit at their own table." he explained. "There's no rule against not sitting at your own table, but people are usually frowned upon when they don't sit at their own table." his voice wasn't snooty, he just plainly explained the facts for them.
"It's that sort of attitude that'll cause long term friends to become enemies just because they're in different houses." Matilda said deliberately, knowing that what she said had happened already.
A man who was dressed in black robes and had a hooked nose walked over to the group of friends. It was the head of Slytherin, Severus Snape.
"Miss Saxtons, why are you not sitting at your table?" he said.
The Saxton sisters turned to him with blank faces.
"We are sitting with our friends, sir." they said at the same time with the same expressionless voices, Layla lip-syncing with her hidden radio. "There's no rule against it."
When Severus looked at the Black twins they waved at him.
"Don't worry about them, sir, they're always like that around new people, especially adults." Matilda said.
"Was there anything else you would like to ask, sir?" asked the Saxton sisters.
Severus moved away back to the teacher's table.
"Well, he was nice(!)" Harry said sarcastically.
Suddenly the hall was filled with hundreds of owls dropping off the morning post.
"Mail call." Harry said as Hedwing dropped off a parcel containing a bunch of letters and wrapped objects tied together.
Harry untied it and gave out the mail to the right person.
"Mum's chocolates." Harry and Matilda said at the same time, seeing four identical wrapped boxes.
"Hey, look at this." said a Ravenclaw boy, holding an edition of the Daily prophet. "It's the story on the Potter twins."
"Come on, let's see what they wrote about us." Matilda said.
The group got up and joined a group reading a daily prophet.
The Potter twins revealed.
No dear reader, the title is not a mistake. At the sorting of Hogwarts many were surprised when just after the boy-who-lived Harry Potter was sorted into Ravenclaw, his twin sister who was thought to be dead was called up and was also sorted into Ravenclaw. For those who don't understand, Harry was born with a twin named Matilda, though it was widely thought that she died shortly after birth. From some accounts given by some students we have been told that Mr Potter and Miss Potter didn't seem surprised by this and were even seen together before the sorting, meaning that they knew about each other prior coming to Hogwarts. We have yet to get any information regarding what has happened to the Potter twins but we shall keep you updated as we find the information.
Many students turned to the Black twins in hope of an explanation.
"We'll send in an explanation to the newspaper if that'll make everyone happy." Matilda said. "Because we're not explaining it over and over again."
Each of the children sat back in their places until they got their summons to Dumbledore's office.
*Into the dragon's den.* Aria remarked as they walked out of the hall.
The Saxton sisters, Black twins and Ron Weasley stood before Dumbledore in his office.
"Now, I believe Ron has something to say to you both." Dumbledore addressed the Saxton sisters.
"I'm sorry for calling you're family dark and evil, I should have known better." Ron said.
He was regarded with blank looks. "Apology accepted, just make sure it doesn't happen again." Vida and Layla said.
"Now, why don't you all try to make friends, I'm sure you can get along." Dumbledore said, sending compulsion charms.
The Saxton sisters didn't even try to pretend that they were affected by them.
"I don't think so, sir." they said. "We find it very hard to trust and make friends, and Mr Weasley made it harder for himself with his comments, whether he meant them or not."
"Okay then." Dumbledore said.
The children could tell that he wasn't pleased with the sisters' defiance.
"Harry, Matilda, Ron, you may leave. Vida, Layla, please stay." Dumbledore said.
"Yes, sir." the three students said.
As they left Matilda made sure to pick up her remaining gem stones, secretly planting more.
"What do you want from us, sir?" asked the sisters.
Dumbledore repressed the urge to say, 'for you to stop speaking at the same time' because he found it slightly unnerving that they could do it without slipping up.
"I'd like to ask if you have any problems, I may not judge a family by rumours but I can't ignore the ones that come with your family name. I don't want to be accused of not doing my job if anything is wrong."
"Nothing is wrong with our family." said the sisters.
The triplets suddenly felt pressure on Vida's shields. But they met Dumbledore with their defence instead of Vida's false mind.
In Vida and Aria's shared mindscape, Dumbledore was met with a large battlement guarded by a large red fox with nine white tipped tails, standing on top of the battlement were an angel and red haired woman covered in tattoos. The fox attacked him and he was booted out of Vida's mind.
"It's not nice to go looking in people's heads without permission." the sisters said.
"What…" Dumbledore tried to say but was cut off.
"Our uncle made sure we were well protected in every way, including our minds." the sisters said harshly. "We'd appreciate it if you didn't try that again."
Without saying anything else, they left.
The Black twins and Saxton sisters met in the corridor as they walked to their classes.
"So, what happened?" Harry asked.
"He tried to intrude in our minds, so we showed him why he shouldn't mess with us." Vida said.
"So, what happened with Weasley?" Layla asked.
"He tried to follow us but we lost him." Matilda answered. "I've got the recording gems, now we just need a place where we can listen to them in private."
"Sirius said something about a room of requirements, didn't he?" Harry said.
"I know where that is, we can meet there after classes." Matilda said.
"Then we look for the stone, no surprise if it's on the third floor." Vida said.
After the eventful first day of avoiding students who wanted to share the Black twin's fame and ask questions, and avoiding attention of the teachers they finally met in the room of requirements.
"This room is neat, might be a good place to get away from it all." Vida commented. "Though, something feels off about this place."
"Might be the magic that makes the room." Matilda suggested. "Now, on with business."
Aria appeared beside her sisters as Matilda took out the recording stones from her pocket while Layla took out a bowl encrusted with gems from her bag. Vida filled the bowl with water and Matilda put in the recording stones.
"Let what has been heard be heard again." they all said at the same time.
The audio of what happened while the children were in the office played out, they started paying full attention once Harry and Matilda left.
'This isn't going to plan.' they heard Dumbledore say. 'Why did Matilda have to end up with that other family? If it weren't for that I'd have them both under my thumb. My plans are going to be reprised if I am to keep them under my control, thank goodness they're ignorant of the magic world, or it's be harder than it already is, Harry was supposed to be pliant after I rescued him from the Dursleys. Still, Matilda could be used for my advantage, she's smart and might suspect something but a few potions and spells can fix that. She could even marry Mr Weasley when they become older, that way both of them would be married to a Weasley and I'd have double the claim to their inheritance. Now, what can be done about those Saxton twins, they come from a family that don't trust me but I could influence them into trusting me, they could be useful for the greater good, and I might even be able to get them to use the power of their family for me. But that means I need to be careful about the rest of their family, Saxtons are no fools and could suspect something's up if the twins start to sing my praises, I guess I'll have to be patient and gradually make them drift away from their family and closer to me. Speaking of family, what am I going to do about Harry and Matilda's adopted mother, with her in the way send the children anywhere that will make them more pliant and I can't do anything with them without her approval, even if I can act as their magical guardian. But I can't do much about her because I don't know where she or the Potters live, maybe I can put forward claims that she's unfit as a guardian, and even if this claims can be proved as not true, it might help me work out where they live, then it'll only be a matter of leaving a hint to some death eaters about where the Potters live.'
Dumbledore stopped his monologue and the children stopped the recording.
"That…" Harry and Matilda shouted out every curse word and swear they knew for the next few minutes.
The Saxton sisters were inwardly fuming as well, thinking of what they were going to do to Dumbledore for what he suggested to them. No one, and they mean no one, tries to manipulate or control and Saxton or a Fae, especially not when they were both.
Eventually they calmed down. Vida picked the stones out of the bowl, dried them, then put some of them in a small box along with a letter for their aunt and uncle.
"Why do the bad guys always say their plans out loud, don't they know that that just helps the hero?" Layla asked rhetorically.
"Don't know. Helps us build evidence against them though." Aria said.
The children were just about to leave when the Saxton triplets stopped.
"That felling has gotten stronger, it feels wrong, unnatural, something that should never be." Vida said
"We need to find it." Layla said.
As they said this, their Fae feature appeared.
Suddenly the room shifted and they were now standing among a vast pile of random things. Vida and Layla started digging through a pile, seeking out the source. Eventually they emerged, Vida holding a diadem between the very tips of her claws and holding it at arms length.
"A soul canister!" the triplets growled savagely.
A soul canisters, also known as a horcruxs, were despised by Fae, they went against everything that Fae believed in and valued, so the Saxton triplets naturally despised them as well.
"One of Voldeshorts, I bet." Aria hissed.
The diadem was put in a wooden box covered inside and out with all sorts of runes. It was then sent to Kenny and Martha along with the recording stones and letter.
"We get the stone tomorrow." Vida said, her feature dark like her sisters'. "Then we get out of here as soon as we can."
Harry and Matilda wisely didn't say anything as they departed to their different houses.
