Verne was a cautious turtle. Always had been, always would be. He couldn't help it if he had small doubts about RJ's faithfulness to the family.
He had no reason to though. His tail wasn't tingling, and by watching the raccoon, he could tell this family meant a lot to him. He was always there for anyone who needed him, no matter what it was.
Without the threat of a homicidal bear looming over his shoulder, RJ had finally relaxed and embraced the family life.
Verne had nothing to worry about. RJ had already proven his loyalty by coming back.
