Verne probably didn't think RJ was paying as much attention as he did, but he was wrong. RJ knew he was under scrutiny by the turtle, but he didn't let it bother him.
RJ wouldn't let Verne down. He didn't want to lose his family again.
With how much attention Verne had been paying to him, RJ had been paying the same amount of attention to himself. He was more relaxed now, and happier than he had ever been on his own.
Now if only he could get Verne to stop dropping hints about how great family is. RJ knew.
