Draco looked around confusedly. Somehow they had got out of the Chamber. He was supporting Harry while Dumbledore shouted orders. Her- Granger was nowhere to be seen but obviously she had been successful in getting help.

"Poppy, will you take Mr Potter down to the hospital wing. Minerva, take Miss Granger and Miss Weasley to my office- Miss Weasley's family should be waiting for you there."

Draco saw the bushy haired Gryffindor step out from behind McGonagall and take the Weasley girl's hand gently.

"The rest of you please inform the students of what is going on and take them down to the Great Hall. Gilder, if you would be so kind as to let the kitchen staff know to prepare a feast."

The other professors dispersed and Draco was left alone with the headmaster. The pain in his leg was killing him but Madam Pomfrey had cast some kind of a healing spell on it that allowed him to walk.

"Now Draco, I'm afraid that before I can let you go to the Hospital Wing I must talk to you." The headmaster turned his piercing blue eyes on Draco and he flinched slightly.

"Actually headmaster, I would speak with my son now." Lucius Malfoy strode down the corridor purposefully. He gripped Draco's shoulder painfully and continued. "I'm sure you understand. Perhaps Mr Potter might require some assistance?" He raised a perfect eyebrow and walked away, Draco in tow.

Harry blinked his eyes open and sat up with a jolt, hitting his head. He groaned and lay back down as Madam Pomfrey shook her head.

"Thank you Poppy. If I could have a word with Harry now?" The Headmaster stood at the end of Harry's bed, smiling.

"Of course Headmaster."

Harry shifted awkwardly as Professor Dumbledore towered over him. He guessed that they had broken a lot of rules today, and he wasn't sure quite what to expect.

"Mr Potter. I trust you are feeling better?"

"Yes sir."

"I have just a few questions for you." Dumbledore studied the young Slytherin carefully. He knew that things would have been so much easier if he had been Sorted anywhere else.

"How did you find the Chamber?"

"Uh, Hermione guessed where it was. Draco knew some stuff and I guess that was enough for her to figure it out."

"And why were you looking for it in the first place?"

"I think Hermione's friends with Ron's sister? She told us and asked us to help her look for her."

Dumbledore looked up, surprised. He had been expecting the Malfoy boy to be more connected. Before he could continue his questioning however a woman rushed passed him and threw her arms around Harry.

"Ah, Mrs Weasley. I see Minerva told you of our hero's adventures then?"

"Hello Father." Draco kept his voice even and void of emotion.

"What happened? Were you successful? Did the Dark Lord- did he speak to the Potter boy?"

"Uh yes… I think so at least."

"What do you mean, you think so? This is serious Draco."

"Sorry sir. I was busy breaking my leg at the time." Draco let a slight tone of sarcasm slip into his words and Lucius looked furious. He raised his hand as if to hit his son and then lowered it calmly, remembering where they were.

"I will not tolerate this disrespect Draco."

"No of course father, I'm sorry. We wouldn't want anyone to know what really goes on behind the manor's closed doors." Draco didn't know why he was doing this, knew he would pay for it all later, but it felt so good to release some of the anger he had pent up in himself.

Lucius sighed, a cold sigh that Draco knew meant he was making a mental note to arrange punishment as soon as they got home.

"The mission went fine. Harry said he spoke to some ghostly past memory thing that claimed to be the Dark Lord so I guess he got his message across."

Lucius breathed out in relief. "Good. Then you should go to the Potter boy and make sure he suspects nothing."

Draco stood at the door of the infirmary, looking in at the happy scene. Madam Pomfrey had given up trying to get rid of all the extra visitors and the Weasleys were crowded around Harry's bed. Hermione was sitting beside him, talking animatedly, and every so often a different red head would hug Harry, tears of gratitude and relief rolling down their cheeks.

He blinked and turned away. He knew he deserved to be the outcast of the happy party- it was his fault any of them had ever suffered after all.

"Draco!" He heard footsteps behind him and felt arms being thrown around him. He shoved Hermione away and scowled at her. "Stay away from me... mudblood." Turning on his heel he walked sharply away from her, leaving her utterly confused and bewildered behind him.

He knew what would happen if she stayed near him. She'd keep getting dragged into messes like this and he wouldn't be responsible for any more injuries. Enough was enough.
