Chapter 6
Awkward.
…
George suddenly cleared his throat after the long silence that had overtaken the room.
"Oi!" he complained when Angelina dug her elbows into his ribs.
Harry felt a smile tug at his lips as he started the introductions once more.
"Righte-o. Guys, this is Tony, Pepper and Rhodes," gestured to each person respectively, "and this is the Weasley family. Starting with Molly and Arthur - my parents-in-law."
At that moment, barely a minute into introductions, Molly stepped forward and hugged Tony tightly to her. The Weasley kids smirked at the uncomfortable look that crossed Tony's face as he crushed into one of Molly Weasley's famous bear hugs.
"Mum," Ginny whispered as she noticed the decreasing control that her brothers had on their laughter.
"Oh! Sorry, dear," Molly said as she stepped away from the new trio and Arthur stepped forward who shook their hands.
"Then; Bill and Fleur, Charlie is in Romania, Percy and Audrey, George and Angelina and finally Ron and Hermione." Harry pointed out the people as he called out their names. Each of them greeted the trio in their own way.
Soon after the introductions were complete, the family spread apart. Ginny, Hermione and Fleur went into the spacious kitchen and began preparing lunch after the argued that Molly should just sit and enjoy her time for once.
Lily had taken an instant liking to Pepper and was sitting and busy chatting away with her while the rest of the family were all talking together and frequently also dragged Lily and Pepper into the conversation.
"Lunch!" Ginny called after a while. Everyone was glad for a bite to eat and considering that the Weasley family had a rather large appetite, Tony, Pepper and Rhodey felt no awkwardness in helping themselves to lunch too.
Later that night when the majority of the family had left and it was only the Potters, Ron and Hermione with Hugo and Kingsley who had joined the large family for dinner.
"Lily, Hugo, why don't you go upstairs and play?" Ginny suggested with a look at her daughter while Hermione also looked at Hugo. The two youngsters nodded grudgingly and head up the stairs to leave the adults to their discussion.
Waiting several minutes until the kids were definitely in on of the rooms, Kingsley started.
"Mr. Stark -"
"Tony." He couldn't help but correct. It didn't quite feel right to be called by his surname here, he already felt like he belonged in this family than he ever did with his own parents. Well with those that he thought were his parents.
Kingsley smiled, "Tony then, the prophecy today. Do you know of anyone who would want to try to harm you or attack your home?"
Rhodey shook his head while Pepper ducked her to hide her smile.
"Ahem… yeah… um.. I am Tony Stark. Loads of people want to get to me. Add to that the fact that I'm also Iron Man… yeah, you could say that some people would want to 'harm' me." Tony said vehemently. He already had enough people after him and now he finds out that it had been 'prophesied' that another person would be trying to kill him? This was getting just a tad bit ridiculous.
Harry, Ron and Hermione smiled as they remembered the times that Harry complained or got vexed when he found that there was another plot or something in an attempt to get rid of him, especially during his fifth year when he spent a lot of time with Dolores Umbridge.
"Well then, if you count this as a 'pre-warning' you can be expecting of another attack or something… strange in the near future. Do not stress on the meaning of the prophecy too much and do not attempt to change it, accept it. They do not always mean exactly what they say." Kingsley advised.
Harry looked down, while he agreed with the advice that had just been given, he couldn't help but wonder what it meant that his prophecy was in his brother's one. It was rare that two people of the same family got a prophecy and almost impossible for two prophecies to be the same. So what did it mean?
Does it mean that Voldemort was coming back? That some Death Eaters were rising once more? Or that another Dark Lord was coming into power? He hated not knowing and he knew that if he told Ginny, Ron and Hermione the prophecy they would also wonder.
Hermione would go and check and research to see if this had ever happened before, Ron would tell him that they would figure it out while Ginny would simply stand by his side and support him the entire way.
"Another thing, the prophecy might be referring to only you." Harry blurted out to Tony.
In response, he simply received a raised eyebrow in question.
"The last part, The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord… that was from my prophecy. It was completed years ago… we, well I, don't know why it's in your prophecy as well.. unless if it was the start of my prophecy coming through a couple of years before I was born? Or am I supposed to help you in defeating this thing? Of course I'm going to help you…"
"Harry. Rambling." Ginny smiled once more at her husband's little quirks that he rarely ever released.
They were all surprised when it was Pepper who laughed, she'd been quite throughout the day, unsure of how she should act but after a long day and seeing some of the things that happen in the family (George), she was more comfortable now.
"Sorry," she said once she was able to speak properly, "but it's just that Tony does the same thing… except he usually rambles out maths equations or something like that." She and Ginny smiled at the actions of their partners while Harry and Tony shared smirks.
"Anyways, we'll figure this out, together. Just like before." Hermione said and glanced at her husband and best friend.
Tony was moved. The fact that these people were willing to risk their lives, once more it seemed, just to help him when they'd barely known one another for a day was really moving. He might have Pepper and Rhodey by his side but… Pepper was someone who he saw it as his responsibility to protect and Rhodey had his job to worry about.
To have a brother was something that he never imagined that he could or even would experience and he was glad that he was given a second chance to prove himself to these people. To prove that he was worthy of being a brother unlike his relationship with his 'father'.
They stayed talking late into the night. Kingsley had left sometime after 9 and Lily and Hugo had fallen quite a while after Kingsley had left. They talked about a lot of things, mundane everyday life, kids, work and magic.
The last topic took them very late into the night, Pepper had nodded off against Tony's side while the conversation lulled.
"Just a question. How're we getting home?" Tony asked as he realised that he was on a completely different continent to the one he had been on a day and a half ago.
Harry and Ginny shared a glance.
"We've got two spare rooms upstairs if you like, you're welcome to them. Sometimes we have a couple more kids sleeping in than usual." Ginny smiled.
Tony and Rhodey nodded gratefully, it had been a long night afterall.
The ceiling swam in front of his eyes as Tony tried to force his eyes to focus. His brain was a muddled mess of memories of Potters, Weasleys, red hair, food and magic.
Magic?
The thought sent him gasping and flailing around, trying to escape the bed sheets that were wrapped around his legs.
His struggle had awoken Pepper who was sleeping in the bed - they had pulled the two beds right up to next each other.
"Tony?" She asked groggily, still half-asleep.
"Where are we? What are we doing here?" He asked alarmed, eyes wide. He searched the room until he found the door and stumbled towards it, determined to find out where he was.
"Morning! Harry's just gone to the Auror Department to tell them that he won't be in today. Thought he should have the day off today as well." Ginny spoke cheerily while she finished preparing the breakfast.
Tony took a deep breath and felt a slight blush creep up his face as his memoried finally started to make sense. He remembered. It wasn't everyday that you find out that you have a brother or that magic actually exists.
"Morning Pepper!" Ginny called out as Pepper followed Tony down the stairs.
They were just getting settled around the table when Harry came in through the Floo, followed by Ron and Hermione.
Overall, it was a very cheery breakfast with a very cheery family. They will be facing difficult times in the future but that's what family is for. To support one another and be there for each other.
They are a family.
Sooo... that's it... please review guys! It would really mean a lot to me! Hope you enjoyed it!
Cya soon! :D Storm.
