He frowned in frustration when one man somewhere at the end of the waiting room whispered a set of cruel words.

"Look, the Kitsune and the Uchiha. The village would be better off without those two. Damn demons."

The blond could feel anger radiating off himself and, for a moment, he thought he could feel Sasuke also stiffen.

Was the raven actually being effected by such comments?

Then, Naruto felt Sasuke lean in close to him to whisper something only audible to themselves.

"And these two demons are the ones who saved their sorry asses."

The blond was slightly shocked at the statement. Sasuke would never say something like that. His Uchiha pride would never allow him to.

"Y-yeah." He replied simply.

Naruto tried his best not to be effected by such petty words, but what bothered him most was the fact that no one fought back or at least said something to counter their dull statements.

What he hated most was that he didn't fight back. Of course, he would never word his thoughts out loud.

"S-Sasuke-kun?"

The two turned to the voice; the blond opening his eyes for once to see whom was speaking.

The girl standing in front of them was the pink-haired Kunoichi in her hospital uniform and clipboard in hand. There was a soft look of worry on her gaze. "Is Naruto okay?"

Naruto answered this time. "Yeah, of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

Sasuke inwardly grunted while Sakura only continued to stare at him with question.

She stepped over to the blond and glared him deathly in the eye; a smile traced her lips the whole while. "Then, why is Sasuke-kun carrying you?"

Damn!

"I-I don't know, ask the teme. I was carried against my own will." He struggled to stand on his own, but the raven wouldn't allow such and kept him in his hold.

The blond sighed in frustration.

"Come on, let's examine him." Sakura led the way out of the waiting room- thank Kami- and towards a set of multiple doors.

They headed to one several doors across and stepped inside. The room was covered in in machines and tubes and things Naruto couldn't stand to look at.

He hated to admit he feared anything, but when it came to hospitals, that was entirely out of the question.

He pretty much detested more than feared them.

"Set Naruto down right there. I need to run a few tests."

Sasuke walked over to a chair in the center of all the wires and chaos before gently setting down the blond into a leather seat.

"Sasuke, I'm fine." He was getting nervous again and all he could do was fidgit and aimlessly attempt to escape from the persistent Uchiha. "I nreally don't think I need to be here..."

"Don't try escaping, Dobe." His voice was stern.

The blond growled lowly and hung his head. "I loath hospitals."

Sasuke laughed. "That was the biggest word I've heard you use."

"Shut it."

Sakura returned from one of the corners in the room with a box in hand and sterile gloves already on. "Okay, since you refuse to tell anyone what's wrong, I'll be taking a blood sample. From what I see, you don't have a cold or even a fever."

Naruto looked up slightly, eyeing the needle the pink-haired kunoichi held at the moment.

"Sasuke, don't let him run off."

The raven stepped over to the side of the blond and placed a hand on the blond's shoulder. "I'll kill him if he does."

"I know."

It was quick, thankfully, and all Naruto had to do was fight back a few times, shed a tear and get a punch to his gut. But, it was all good.

Sakura had left the room and when she returned a few minutes later, a grim expression tragically lined her face.

"Naruto..."

God, I'm so sorry. I keep taking so long, but I have a ton of work and testing to do that I barely have time to write. Anyhow, review!

Arigato!
