Small bonus scene : Scrooge

Rou's POV

" Hey..." I turned around and saw Superboy in front of my room. He seemed to have something to say.

" Come in.." I gave him a smile to let him come in my room. And then, Beast boy appeared and looked at me for the permission.

" Permission is granted." Beast boy smiled and sat on the carpet in front of me. That's weird, this boy rarely talked to me and why he suddenly want to talk with me.

" Um...how have you been?" I raised my brows curiously at the green boy's question.

" Actually, Black Canary kinda told about what you thought to us. We wanted to tell you that no one here hated you." Superboy chimed in after Beast boy felt awkward because I did not answered his question. When he mentioned ' Black Canary', it reminded me about the conversation with Black Canary.

" I'm not that fragile. You know..." I said indifferently. I didn't want them to treat me like a weak girl.

" We know that but, you treat us like that." Superboy's feature hardened.

" Enlighten me..." I kept my cool even Superboy raised his voice at me.

" Black Canary told us that you thought we despise you because of your looks. Well, tell you what. We aren't like that, Rol. In here, everyone is the same. We don't care where you came from, what you are,or what power you have. You are here because we wanted to help you so that we can know what they planned even we are late to save you but we can still save the others." After Superboy finished, he looked at me sincerely with his grayish blue eyes, showing that he really mean what he said. I looked at Beast boy and saw that the expression on his face was same as Superboy.

" Rol, please...let us help you...I know you think that your life is worthless because you're not human." Superboy's voice was softened as same as his feature.

" Of course. I'm a monster, Corner...I was created for some sick purpose to hunt you and the leagues down..." I said while trying not to let him see my sob.

" No, you aren't a monster. Rol, you are a human. The one of many humans with good heart, too. It's true that they may create you for that but it doesn't define what you are...You still can be something much more than that. "

With that, I felt something made me realize how idiot I am to think only about my condition. Yep, there is nothing that I could change for what happened to me but there still had time to save the innocent people from the unpleasant experience that I had been through. And, I will make those maniac know that he couldn't take my humanity from me.

" You're right, Superboy. I'm real jerk like Scrooge. Really..." Superboy smiled but seemed to be confused a little at what I said. Oh please, don't tell me he never read great classic literature like Christmas Carol by Charles D.

' You know. For someone who is quite like you. I gotta say that your words have very profound meaning and they touched my heart." I sniffed, feeling that my snot almost came out from holding my tear.

" Well, Megan used to tell me that when I came out from CADMUS for first a few week." Superboy said as he suddenly lowed his eyes sadly.

" Megan told me that you like Rol. That's why she is going out with Lagoon boy." Beast boy chimed in.

" What?!" Superboy and I exclaimed in unison.

" Well...Like I said, she thought Superboy like Rol." Beast boy startled a little.

" Really? For crying out loud, I think of Superboy like my own brother even I may not have one." I rolled my eyes, feeling urge to shout in her face for hurting Superboy and making my life difficult. Sometimes I swore that in the last month, Megan tried to hate me because of her misunderstanding with Superboy.

" Oh, that's...great...because I somehow felt that you two looked alike." At the last part of Beast boy's sentence, me and Superboy looked at each other with raising brows in wondering. Superboy seemed to be in thought when he tried to study my feature for awhile until he decided to give up.

" Well, who cares. By the way, What is Scrooge?" With that, I widened my eyes in surprise at him as same as Beast boy.

" What?! You don't know Scrooge?!" With Beast boy's exclamation, I couldn't help to join in.

" Poor you, little young soul. Do you that you have just miss something really important?" I said with fake sad voice, shaking my head side to side like an elder master.

" Here, let me help me.." After I finished that I dragged Superboy with Beast boy to watch Christmas Carol together, helping Corner to have a Christmas spirit and become literature lover like me. Mwahahahaaa...

" It kinda fun but, does that really happen to everyone?" Superboy asked after we had finished the movie and I changed the channel back from DVD mode.

" Mm...maybe if you are too selfish like Scrooge. Thinking only about yourself too much and never show sympathy to your human friends." I explained him. Suddenly, there was an alarming noise.

" Attention, team. Suit up. Mission briefing in five." Batman announced through the speaker. I looked at Superboy and Beast boy worriedly. They glared back and gave me reassuring smile before walked to the hologram room.

' Go after them...' Morana spoke up.

' But...'

' Just go...' I complied to her hesitatingly. Actually, I am kinda curious what mission they are going to take from Batman. Will it be about me?
