"Naruto..." Sakura only stood there, staring at him, almost afraid to see the reaction the blond would release. "...you're such an idiot."
He understood.
"Why wouldn't you tell us?"
'I understand.'
Sasuke was somewhat shifting impatiently before his mouth got the better of his Uchiha arrogance. "Sakura, what's wrong with him?"
She frowned slightly and turned to face Sasuke. "Sasuke-kun... Naruto..." She turned back to the blond. "You have Fatal Familial Insomnia." At the moment the words escaped her lips she nearly crumpled to the ground if it had not been for the Uchiha whom caught her in the nick of time. She continued to speak, though. "You can't sleep at all and sooner or later...you're going to get too weak."
They were silent.
"The blood test alone...didn't give the results, when I first saw you here I knew something was up...your blood only confirmed my suspicions. You had way too little nutrients in your bloodstream. It's supposed to be genetic, but seeing as how strong your parents were, you got it some other way."
Naruto wouldn't say anything, he couldn't. Somehow, he had expected as much. "Sakura-chan, I-"
"Dobe! Why would you lie to us like that?"
The blond was surprised, shocked at the sudden outburst sent by Sasuke. The Uchiha was nearly growling and toppling over in rage.
"You, loser. Why didn't you do anything...why wouldn't you at least tell us?"
"I would have rather died in silence then to have to see you worry so much."
Sakura gasped only for a second before her fist clenched in rage- as did Sasuke's.
"Naruto, how could you say that?" The kunoichi questioned.
"It'd be better if I just didn't tell anyone and died on my own. That way, no one will have to worry or see how weak-"
Then, that's how the blond ended up landing on the ground. He had been punched square in the jaw with a heavy fist thrown by Sasuke whom was standing over him, glaring at him with flaring sharingan.
"S-Sasuke-kun!" Sakura tried to intervene only to have the Uchiha stop her in her tracks and push her back.
"Sakura, no." He bent down and snatched the teen by the collar of his jacket, lifting him up only slightly so that he was left in an uncomfortable position. A trail of blood seeped from his lips.
"Are you telling me that you wanted to keep this a secret?!"
No response.
"I see. You would have passed and left us thinking, if we had only found out sooner, he wouldn't be dead. If we weren't so stupid, we could have somehow saved you. It's our fault, we're to blame? Don't give me that shit, Dobe."
Sasuke stood quiet and so did the blond. Soon, Sakura broke into the conversation.
"Naruto, I'm sure you know this already, but there is no cure. I checked the databases, but nothing pops up."
Sasuke growled.
Naruto could feel the anger radiating off the Uchiha and setting his fists into a shivering manner, but when he looked into those dark eyes, he could only see worry and pity.
The blond scoffed. "That's another reason. I don't want anyone's pity."
He snapped at that moment. "I'm not giving you my fucking pity! You're my teammate, of course I'm supposed to worry!"
"That's not what you said a while back."
Sasuke tightened his grip on the jacket.
Only, Naruto continued. "You tried to kill me, you never cared about our friendship not even once! You-"
"I came back, didn't I?!" Sasuke was all but trying to keep his voice down. He didn't care who heard him as long as he got that smooth brain of the idiot working. "I could have stayed away forever or even killed you, but, guess what, I didn't. So I suggest you get your damn facts straight!"
Naruto stared at him crossly, furious in all honesty. But it was almost too easily that he seemed to push his luck. "Heh. You were forced back...because I was the one who beat the crap out of you."
There, the Uchiha lost all self-restraint. He was clearly eager to teach the blond, implant a message into his thick skull that sometimes even he, himself, had trouble believing.
The blond knew exactly where those words caused him to head, but his mouth just seemed to move on its own. Though, he didn't regret it.
The same fist collided with his face, left hand raised, right hand clutching the jacket that was now barely withholding itself.
"S-Sasuke-kun!" Sakura was desperately pulling at the Uchiha, but received no reply or comply to her requests.
He was furiously smashing the blond and no longer cared about the diagnosis. He was too angered by the confession Naruto had given.
The teen could tell a ton of blood was running down his face, yet didn't seem to care. He only let the raven do what he liked.
Sasuke would have hit him again if not for the hand that snatched his fist midway.
"Sakura, let-" he was shocked when he turned to find someone else standing there. "Hokage-sama."
Okay, rewrote it...so long...anyhow, review and tell me what you think.
Arigato!
