Chapter 9 – Engurishu Desu, Act 6. Tanjoubi Omedetou Kurisu! Part 2

Normal POV

The group of five then decided it was time to eat some breakfast, so after dropping by Kurisu and Mayuri's room to drop off the presents, they headed to the dining area. They were greeted by a very familiar face.

"Kyouma! Guys, it's good to see you-nya"

Hotel Dining Area, 3 days before the Puzzle Convention, July 25, 2012, 7:45 AM, Okabe POV

"Kyouma! Guys, it's good to see you-nya"

Those were the words that greeted me and my friends as we arrived at the dining area. The familiar sight of pink hair and a maid outfit immediately made the girl in front of us stand out. I only knew one person possessing such qualities.

"Well well well, it looks like Steins;Gate is at work again. What brings you here all of a sudden? Faris? Got bored back at Akihabara perhaps?" I said with stride as I went to engage with my newly-arrived lab member.

"Hello Faris-san, long time no see" greeted Kurisu.

"Faris-tan! Now that you're here, this place just got a whole lot better" was Daru's welcome as expected from him being a Faris fanboy as usual. 'He really needs to tone that down.' I thought while snickering in amusement of Daru's antics.

"Faris-chan! Tutturu! Mayushii is happy to see you here! By the way, this pretty lady right here is Daru-kun's lady friend, miss Yuki Amane" exclaimed Mayuri with glee as she glanced at Yuki-san's direction. Yuki-san blushed a bit at being called 'Daru's lady friend' and went to introduce herself with a smile.

"Nice to meet you Faris-san, I'm Yuki Amane but you can call me Yuki"

"Nice to meet you too-nya! My real name is Rumiho Akiha-nya, but I go by the name 'Faris Nyannyan', you can call me Faris" replied Faris with a smile.

"Mayuri-chan, good to see you too nya! Daru-kun, pumped up like always-nya! Hello to you too Ku-nyan! Kyuoma! I finally did it!"

"Huh? You don't mean… you finally completed the puzzle of the four elements?!" I declared in mock-awe while playing along with Faris's chuunibyou act. She too was quite hardcore in keeping up her act, almost as hardcore as me when I am in 'Kyouma mode'. Almost, being the key word here.

"Indeed I have fufu. It took me days, even months of preparation-nya….. then, the answer….. REVEALED ITSELF-nya!" Faris returned with equal vigor. She was obviously immersed in her roleplay like always.

"FuuuuuAHAHAHAHA! This, is the perfect example of the wheels of fate turning in motion! One more step, and we sha-" I was about to ramble on but Kurisu immediately covered my mouth with her hand.

"That was such an epic-fail Okabe-kun" was the comment that came from a giggling Yuki-san

"Quiet you! Unless you have more to say, Miss Hacka?" as I said that, Yuki-san and Daru both had the color red once again on their faces. I then turned my attention to Kurisu.

"What was that for? Assistant, you'd do good if you don't interru -" I got cut off again, this time by her lips. This was my preferred way of being shut up and it works every time.

"Okabe, I love you, I really do, but you have got to stop that shtick of yours" Kurisu said with a hint of annoyance at my Hououin Kyouma tendencies.

"Ku-nyan, that reminds me, it's your birthday! Happy birthday-nya!" Faris greeted Kurisu while handing her a gift-wrapped box about the size of a book.

"Thank you Faris-san, and you got me a gift, thank you very much" beamed Kurisu with a smile.

All of us then sat at the table where Faris was at. Luckily, it had chairs for 6 with Faris sitting in one of them; it was just the right amount to seat all of us.

Normal POV

As the group of Okabe and the rest chatted and started having some of the complimentary breakfast that hotel offered, they all had smiles on and were enjoying each other's company. Little did they know that at a nearby table, was a girl who didn't have any companions and was eating her breakfast as well. She had her eyes fixated on a certain person amongst Okabe's cheery group. It was easy for her to stare without being noticed due to the placing of her table which was a good vantage point that provided enough viewing distance, yet didn't make her obvious at the same time. A creepy grin crept up to her as she spoke:

"Rumiho-chan, you've ignored me far too long. But do not worry, we will be meeting again with each other pretty soon. Oh yes, pretty soon indeed my dear Rumiho-chan…"

Yuki Amane's room, 8:30 AM Normal POV

The group was currently gathered inside Yuki's room. Everyone was present namely: Okabe, Kurisu, Mayuri, Daru, Faris, and Yuki.

"Kurisu-chan's birthday needs to be lively! Mayushii knows some stuff that we could do as a group and have fun!" beamed Mayuri with her usual brand of cheery liveliness that seemed to engulf wherever place she would be at and all the people who were fortunate enough to be around her radiant presence.

Kurisu motioned to say something, 'No need to fuss over me' was evidently the thought that occupied her head. Much to her chargin though, everyone else rode the bandwagon and joined in with Mayuri as they began plotting and planning the festivities of the day that lay ahead of them.

"Assistant, would be kind as to so much give your input on this matter that Steins;Gate has thrust upon the Future Gadget Lab, Yuki-san included?" Okabe inquired with a smug grin on his face.

"You've stopped adding that tina suffix to my name yet you keep on calling me Assistant, haha very funny." Kurisu replied with a comically fake smile. Being called assistant irked her almost as much as being called 'Christina', well it's not as if she still hated that name anyway since to her, it had a certain sentimental feel to it when Okabe would call her with it.

After what seemed to be an endless array of possible itinerary for the day, the group headed out to go and celebrate Kurisu's birthday to the fullest. As they exited the hotel, all of them wore smiles as bright as the sun. Kurisu and Okabe both had a tinge of red on their cheeks as they walked, holding hands and enjoying each other's warmth.

Meanwhile at the rooftop of a building directly across a certain hotel… Unknown POV

"Looks like Kurisu Makise did a good job of anchoring you to the Steins Gate worldline. All seems well and in place for now." said a hooded figure. Upon closer inspection, the person appeared to be female. The hooded girl was peering at Okabe's group which were making their way out and exiting from the hotel.

"I really do hope nothing goes wrong this time. Reading Steiner shouldn't have any more problems for now. It'd would be quite problematic if something like the R-line incident would happen again."

Upon saying that, the hooded girl felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and faced the source of the tap.

"They'll be fine. After all, this is all the choice of Steins;Gate, part-time warrior." were the words uttered by an older, deeper-voiced Rintarou Okabe.

Suzuha POV

"I hope you're right uncle Okabe. But we came to this period of time for a certain reason. You know that right?" I asked regarding the situation at hand.

"Yes of course. Ironically it's during your aunt Christina's birthday that this event occurs. It's quite peculiar how Steins;Gate works, don't you think Suzuha? FuuuuuuAHAHAHAHA" was the older Okabe's answer.

"Well then uncle Okabe, we better get started before we're too late to stop this."

"Yes, yes we should Suzuha."
