Kristoff was on guard again.
It was the second night they had docked. Their trip to Arendelle was still under way; as such, they had sailed up a river and were now parked at a makeshift camp sight. The others were asleep, on their cloaks, under a large tree in the forest they had found. The river ran through the forest, and they had parked it at the riverbank, where the environment curved.
The river was beginning to freeze. The group's breath came out in puffs, and their wings were wrapped around themselves in their sleep. Kristoff was leaning against a tree, his eyes open and one foot on the ground, and one foot on the trunk.
Kristoff's forest green eyes blinked and darted around as he felt vibrations in the earth. They were heavy vibrations, and coming closer towards them. Next to him, Anil awoke, took a sniff of the air, and retched. Kristoff grimaced.
"That's disgusting," Anil said, spitting onto the earth. "The hell is that?"
"I don't know," Kristoff answered, "wake the girls."
Anil dashed over, tried to wake them, and failed. "I can't wake them up, it's like they're under a spell!" he said. He shot a desperate look at Kristoff.
A giant smashed through the trees, and headed straight for the girls, aiming to kill. Anil jumped in front of them and made a shield in seconds, but it was seconds too late. The giant knocked him aside, making him go into a tree…
Or this would have happened if Anil hadn't whipped out his wings, circled around the tree, and kicked the beast in the face. Its head whipped back and that gave Kristoff the chance to use his magic, a Gravel Powder spell, to deal damage to the club. It knocked the spines off.
Kristoff shot into the air to catch Anil as a well-aimed shot from the giant knocked the air scion out of the air, despite him going 700 miles an hour; he had been making the beginnings of a hurricane. Kristoff caught him in his arms and flew him over to a high tree. "Stay here, okay?" he said, flying downwards as Anil fell unconscious. Kristoff made earth supports up the trunk and the branches to ensure that Anil wouldn't fall or get knocked to his doom. Then he jumped out of the way as the giant slammed a fist into the forest floor, going about 50 feet away. The giant's fist smashed into the boat, destroying it.
I've gotta be careful, Kristoff thought, especially since it destroyed the boat. That giant could smash me to pieces if I'm not fast enough. Then he looked up as the giant's fist fell onto him once again, pushing him into the ground.
Kristoff released a primal growl as the soft dirt hardened under his feet and turned to rock. He stomped his foot and rose above to ground level, and started pushing the giant's fist skywards while applying pressure to the giant hand. Kristoff was taking a stand. He crushed the giant's fist in his hand and the giant roared. He then scampered up the giant's fist, up his arm.
They were all unique. Kristoff earthbent the solid rock out of the earth, turned it into spikes, and led it to the giant's eyes. The giant roared in pain and Kristoff scampered up its arm, up to its shoulder, and jumped, snapping his wings out and flapping. He flew up to the giant's head, dropped down… and crushed its skull.
The giant dropped down, dead. Kristoff sighed and looked at the remains of the boat. It was no longer there.
Just then, the girls jerked awake and took battle positions, then looked around as they realized nothing was going on and looked at each other in question. Then they looked at Kristoff.
Anna reacted first, walking towards Kristoff. "What the hell happened?" she asked.
Kristoff said slowly, "A giant."
Anna looked behind him and saw, like he had said, a dead giant. "Where's Anil?" Tor questioned.
Kristoff clenched his fists and the tree slowly became smaller, lowering the branch and turning it to reveal Anil. The air scion groaned and twitched, falling off the tree branch and onto the ground. Tor rushed over.
"What happened to him?" Tor asked.
Kristoff explained it to her. She nodded just as he began to work up. Anil groaned and Tor hugged him. "Thank goodness you're okay!" she yelled, "I thought you were dead!"
"It's good to see you, Anil," Elsa said as she made her way over to him, giving him a hug. The others gathered around him and hugged the air scion as well.
"Yeah, I am," he said with a shaky grin. "Thanks for saving my life, Kristoff," he said, smiling at the earth scion. Kristoff smiled back.
"No problem. Oh, and another thing… the boat's destroyed."
The remaining Scions glanced over at what used to be the boat and Elsa raised her eyebrows in bewilderment at what used to be the boat. It was now a crushed hunk of wood.
"Hmm…" Elsa said.
"What is it Elsa?" Anna asked.
"We don't have much, we could make it," she said, getting her cloak and snatching it upwards.
"What do you mean?" Anil questioned.
"I think we'll be able to fly to Arenedelle," Elsa said, looking at the others. They all milled it over for a bit.
"You really think so?" Anil said, "it's over 600 miles away."
"That's more or less a 7 hour flight," Tor added, "are you certain we can make it?"
"We can do anything," Elsa said, "We're becoming gods."
"Elsa's right," Anna said, making the others look at the redhead, "this is no biggie. We've faced worst before."
"So let's do it," Anil said, getting up and starting to sprint. The others followed him to the edge of Twilight Falls.
Anil backed up on the side of the cliff that was surrounding the waterfall. He ran forward and then jumped. Then he unfurled his wings…
…and he began to fly.
