I DO NOT OWN YUGIOH
It was dark that night without even a moon to provide some light. Domino's streets were empty but the building's on the streets were bursting with life, especially on the west side of town.
Around the corner was Saru and his gang, all but Yugi were engaged in some sort of conversation. Their laughter bounced off the walls around them and echoed back adding to the empty atmosphere. They finally turned into an alleyway were their conversation died down.
The back of the alley was shrouded in shadows making it impossible to see what was there but no one investigated. It looked like a normal alleyway with a few large garbage cans against the wall and grim clinging to the walls but against the wall to their left was a door, dulled music pounding behind it. A broken sign sat above the door and you could just make out the word "exit" on it.
Yugi shuffled his feet and shoved his hands in the front pocket of Yami's red sweat shirt. He didn't like being here and he wished that he didn't have to come along but Saru forced him to. It always gave him the creeps and no matter how many times he comes here, he still could never feel comfortable even looking at it. Normally Saru would just let him stay home, locked in his room when he needed to come here, but for the past two days, Yugi has never been able to leave his side. Yugi guessed the fiasco with Yami had scared Saru and made him worried otherwise Saru wouldn't drag him along everywhere. Sadly, though, it put Yugi on edge being with Saru all the time. Anything could happen when he was with Saru and there were many sights that Yugi would rather not see.
He hadn't been able to talk or see Yami at all for the past two days. Yugi hoped he was alright considering that they didn't leave on the best of terms. Yugi wished he could go see him but he was sure Yami was upset with him, who wouldn't be? Yami might not want to see him again after what happened. Maybe Yami had finally given up. The thought caused a deep frown to mar Yugi's face.
Saru motioned for the rest of the group to stay back while he walked up to the door. He knocked on it twice before a call came from the back of the alley.
"You must be loosing your touch Saru. We're already here."
A girl with long black hair that was pulled back in a high ponytail twirled out of the dark end of the alley. She bowed at the waist when she stopped before she straitened.
She was wearing a black, short-sleeved dress that had a very, very short skirt. A black corset with hot pink trimming and lace was around her waist and helped accent her breasts and she wore a pair of high heeled boots that stopped at her knees and were so dark a pink that they were almost black. Hot pink bracelets adorned her wrists and she had a silver bell on a pink and black choker around her neck.
"Good evening Saru."
Saru smirked. "Maria. You seem to be getting better at blending in with your surroundings." He looked past her to where she came from. "You and your girls."
Nine other women moved out of the shadows when Maria motioned them forward. They were all wearing something similar to Maria but they all had cat ears atop their heads. They all swayed their hips as they walked and even let out a giggle from time to time, purposely trying to gain the males eyes. When they reached Maria they stopped and starred at Saru's gang with seductive looks saying "come and get me."
Yugi blushed furiously and hid behind Saru, away from the many eyes. He wasn't into any of them or even tempted to go over but he wished that they wouldn't always put themselves out there like that.
"Now why don't we go inside and talk. I'm sure you won't want our meeting outside." Maria suggested
Saru gestured to the door with his smirk still in place. "Lead the way."
Maria moved over to the door and opened it letting the pounding music flood the alley. She stepped inside with Saru's group following and the rest of the Neko's after them. They first entered what looked to be a small kitchen that was in surprisingly good shape, but no one was there. A large kitchen window was in the main wall but a large metal shade closed it off from the public meaning that the kitchen was closed. Next to the window was another door that had a lot of decorations strung over it. When Maria opened the door, a flood of music sounded and a large body of people dancing in a dark room was presented to them. Strobing and colored lights flashed above the crowd and encouraged the movement of the crowd.
Maria led the group into the crowd of people and spotted throughout the crowd were girls with neon cat ears signaling them as workers at the club. They were dancing and entertaining the other guests there, moving there bodies against others. When some of the girls saw the new group enter the dance area, they stalked over. Mike, Inu, and Charley were mesmerized instantly by the girls and were swept away into the crowd where as, Yugi and Saru stayed and continued to follow Maria. Some of the girls still tried to entice Yugi to join them but they never could get him to follow.
The remaining two followed Maria through the crowd and up some glass steps to a red hall. Simple black decorations hung from the red walls and the mini chandeliers that hung from the red ceiling were turned off; instead, candles in black holders on the walls lit the hallway. Dark wood doors lined the walls under the dim light. A sign was hanging on each door with the words "taken" and "free" on each side. Some noise could be heard from the "taken" rooms and Yugi desperately tried to ignore them but it was hard to do as the music was very quiet in the hall and giving no cover for him to mask the sound. Before they could walk further down the hall, Saru turned to Yugi.
"Go home and don't leave the apartment."
"What?" Yugi wasn't sure if he heard Saru correctly.
Saru narrowed his eyes, not appreciating having to repeat himself. "Go home and don't leave the apartment."
Yugi's eyes widened but he didn't waste a second as the message fully sunk in and he bolted back down the stairs. In the crowd, people reached out and touched him, trying to get him to join the dance but he kept moving to the door. As soon as he could feel the door handle under his hand, he pushed it open and burst out into the cool night air.
Saru watched as Yugi scurried through the crowd with a smirk. Once he was gone, Saru turned back to Maria who had a pout on her face.
"Aww, did the cutie have to go?"
Saru rolled his eyes and dropped his smirk. "Our business does not need him anywhere near it." He really had no need to bring Yugi with him for this trip but he loved to make Yugi as uncomfortable as he could and this was an easy place to do so.
"Fine." Maria sighed out dramatically before she tuned around sharply causing her hair to whip out and nearly hit Saru. "Follow me. Our room is at the end of the hall."
The two continued to walk to the end of the hall and stopped outside a maroon door that had a golden rose instead of a sign embedded into the door. Maria knocked twice before entering with Saru. The medium sized room had no windows and had only a dimly lit chandelier to provide light. The lavishly decorated room had drapes covering the walls in dark shards of dark red, purple, and maroon. A rose pattern seemed to be the main theme of the room as many of the drapes and some furniture had it printed on the fabric. The center of the room sank down a step and held two chairs, a backless couch, and a glass table between them. Maria sat on the backless couch while Saru took a chair.
"So Saru, what is this meeting about?" Maria asked as she rested her back against the couch arm and moved the rest of her body onto the backless couch.
"I have a task that I need done and you and the rest of the Neko's can do exactly what I want."
"I don't know. If I know what you are suggesting we do, that is very expensive and only special people get that treatment." Maria said not looking at Saru. She started to kick her legs in the air out of boredom.
"Trust me, you will like this person very much. I would take care of it myself, but I need your guys expertise in this task."
"Oh? You really need us that much? I don't know if we can really help you though. Like I said, only special people get that treatment and besides we are very picky on what missions we take. We pick and choose our battles, unlike you. This saves us from wasting time and energy; besides, we're sitting pretty as is, so if you want our help the prize has to be worth it."
Saru smirked at her words and leaned forward. "I'm sure you've heard about the new boy in town, Yami Sennen?"
This instantly got her attention as she stopped kicking and faced Saru. Her piercing white eyes starred into mischievous green. The excitement played on her face as she leaned forward.
"Who hasn't? He's rich, smart, can fight, and is a looker. He seems to be all my girls are talking about!" She looked up to the ceiling as her imagination ran free. "All the things that I would do to that body." She slid her eyes back to Saru with a sly look. "Word has it that he's up showing you and trying to steal Yugi from you."
Saru growled but rolled his eyes and sat back in his seat. "Yes, that's him and that's exactly what I wanted to talk to you about."
Maria chuckled as she crossed her legs and folded her hands together. "You can't keep a leash on him and Yugi seems to be getting out of control so you want me to help intervene."
Saru nodded once. "Yes."
A Cheshire cat grin formed across Maria's lips as she spoke. "I thought that you wanted to add Yami to your collection when you first saw him? What happened to that want you had?"
"Oh it's still there, but a spitfire that one is and I wouldn't have been able to fully control him as I do Yugi. Like I said to him, I already have one b*tch I don't need another one."
"Well that's good news for me know isn't it. You get to keep Yugi and know I'll get to have Yami. Everyone else will be jealous." She turned to lean her back against the arm of the couch again but kept her legs crossed.
"Now that that is settled I assume we are in agreement?"
"Yes, we are; however, what you are asking me to do is quite big so I will need a normal payment from you as well."
"Same as usual?"
"Same as usual." Saru stood up to leave but Maria stopped him.
"Oh Saru, there is something else I would like to tell you. All the gangs are starting to see you lose your control over Yugi and they all know what that means and so do you."
Saru grit his teeth and tried not to lose his temper. "With you ... removing Yami from the equation, everything should be back to normal and all this unrest will be put to ease."
"You get him here and me and my girls will deal with the rest."
Saru walked over to the door and was about to walk out when he heard Maria again. "Oh and tell my sweet baby-face Yugi we miss him!" Saru slammed the door shut and walked away hearing Maria's laughter travel after him.
(Koobre: Sorry that it's so short but I wanted to separate this chapter and the next from each other, so yes, the next one is going to be short as well but it will be good. Hopefully.
