A/N: Hi everyone! We have reached the end of the line, well at least for Acting the Part. I want to thank everyone for sticking with me this far. Special thanks to my beta Harmony Valenka Smith for the much needed help. And I have to absolutely thank you all for reading/reviewing/favoriting/following/liking/everything.
I promised you all an epilogue and here it is.
Sorry it took so long, I wanted to make it perfect. And I hope it is. :)
I am so excited to be writing for such a lovely fandom. You guys have been so supportive and such beautiful people. I can't thank you guys enough for making me feel welcome and inspiring me to do what I love best: write.
Like always, I was overdosing on Lana Del Rey while writing this chapter. Soundtrack: Radio - Lana Del Rey, Fall For You - Secondhand Serenade and Facedown (Acoustic) - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
Final Disclaimer: Characters do not belong to me, neither do the songs that I choose to flow with the chapters, however the plot is all mine. ;)
Do enjoy.
P.S. This chapter starts with the Bugs and Daffy that used to be rivals but then they eventually started dating. Just to clear things up. ^_^
Epilogue: The Last Act
The premiere of the final Baffy movie was met with widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike. Bugs and Daffy couldn't have been more proud of themselves or their production team.
After all the insanity they'd been through, they were glad for things to return to normal.
The night of the premiere, Bugs proudly linked arms with Daffy and walked into the club where the after party was being held.
"You sure you're fine?" He whispered to his fiancé, squeezing the raven-haired man's hand tighter just in case the answer was no and Daffy wanted to bolt.
Daffy smiled and looked into the eyes of the man he loved most in the world. "Yes, and I want to do this. Besides," the brown-eyed man smiled, "you seem more nervous than me."
The telltale blush rose to color Bugs' cheeks and he smirked. "Well, alright then."
They made their way through the entrance of the club to the back V.I.P. section where their family, friends, costars, and some fans with special access were waiting.
As soon as Bugs and Daffy entered, applause broke through the atmosphere along with many congratulations and whistling. The two men shared secret smiles knowing that their loved ones were cheering for the success of the film but hoping that the announcement they were going to make would be met with the same amount of excitement.
They both basked in the moment for a little while before Bugs cleared his throat and everyone settled down. "I want to thank you all for coming. It means a lot to us. You've all been really supportive and amazing and we can't thank you guys enough." Bugs squeezed Daffy's hand and when the raven-haired man looked over, he could see the unshed tears in Bugs' eyes.
"But we have an announcement to make and I don't really want to start with the water works before we even begin." That earned the blue-eyed man a few laughs, but Daffy could feel that the energy in the room had shifted. It wasn't a shift in the wrong direction – in fact, it was quite the opposite. A wave of enthusiasm rushed over Daffy and he knew immediately that it was coming from the people surrounding them.
Bugs lifted their intertwined hands while never taking his gaze off Daffy. In his expression, Daffy could see the love and the exhilaration and knew that there was no one in the world he'd rather share his life with. "We're engaged."
Another boisterous applause rang through the room. Someone pulled them into a hug but Daffy couldn't see who it was through the happy tears blinding his vision. "I'm so happy for you," Lola whispered to them and when Daffy's vision cleared up a little he saw that she was the one who had started the sudden group hug that they were enveloped in.
The party was soon in full swing and at some point when it had calmed down enough for Bugs and Daffy to separate and mingle, Daffy made sure to look for Sylvester and Tweety.
He found them on the balcony of the night club, holding hands and looking up at the stars. "Mind if I interrupt?"
Tweety grinned at him and threw him into a hug while Sylvester took a picture. Daffy couldn't help but laugh. "I guess I have to get used to people hugging me for a while, well at least until Bugs and I get married."
Sylevester raised an ebony eyebrow. "I would think that a famous actor would be used to getting hugs from adoring fans." He surmised.
"Ha! And you would be wrong. I'm not the hugging type, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy them every now and again."
"Congratulations." Sylvester and Tweety rejoiced simultaneously.
"Thank you." Daffy acknowledged, grinning bigger than he ever had.
Someone joined them on the balcony – Daffy didn't have to turn around to know that it was Bugs, judging by the arm around his waist and the kiss planted to his cheek. "Hey stranger,"
"Hey you," Daffy faced his fiancé and couldn't help but get lost in Bugs' beautiful eyes.
"What are you doing?" The other man asked, playing with a stray curl of dark hair that found its way to Daffy's forehead.
"I was just talking to Sylvester and Tweety-" He turned around to gesture to their friends but was surprised to find that said friends were nowhere in sight. "Hmm, well I was."
Bugs rolled his eyes affectionately for his silly, harebrained love. And then paused when just above them he could see a shooting star flash across the night sky.
"Make a wish." He urged Daffy, who scoffed. "Really? A shooting star? How cliché."
Bugs raised a grey eyebrow.
"I have everything in my life that I could possibly ever want. Speaking of which, after everything, who would think that we'd end up here?"
"And yet, here we are."
Daffy beamed. "Here we are."
They leaned in to kiss until they saw a familiar face talking to Sylvester and Tweety inside.
"Isn't that?"
"Yep!"
"Dr. Fudd?"
"Yep!"
"Shoot!"
"Stop! Wait! No! Dr. Fudd!" They both yelled, running to the older man to halt whatever chaotic good deed he was trying to make.
Some things never change.
Meanwhile, the other Bugs and Daffy lived their lives, perfectly happy and perfectly in love.
Porky met a girl named Petunia and they hit it off almost immediately.
Lola found a guy named Taz and they sat in the front row to Bugs and Daffy's wedding.
Tweety moved in with Sylvester and every now and then, they visit Bugs and Daffy.
And as for Dr. Fudd, he never did get to interfere with Sylvester and Tweety's life, but he did get to retire and that was enough for him.
You may not always end up where you thought you were going, but you will always end up where you are meant to be. ;)
