-Chapter Two: New Faces Part 1-

She shivered feeling his warm hands grabbing firmly on her small waist. He started laying kisses on her neck and down her collarbone. The bristles from his goatee tickled her. She was glad she never told not to shave it, although she did wanted him to at one point. He began to tell her how beautiful she was and how long he waited to do this with her. She tried to tell him the same, how she couldn't think of anything else but him. But the words weren't coming out her mouth.

He moved his hands under her small white sleeveless shirt. She squirmed a little as she started to have second thoughts. Was she even ready for this? The moment of doubt quickly dissipated as he grabbed one of her breasts. He was a little rough but she placed her hand over his to guide him into softer, more gentle movements. She gasped when she felt his hard erection thrust between her legs. She felt nervous and excited all at once. This was finally it, she thought. This was going to happen tonight. Her heart started beating, it was so loud she can almost hear it.

"I've missed you." He whispered. Her heart continue to pound even louder.

She missed him too, she missed him so much she almost couldn't breathe. She wanted to say it, but the words weren't coming out.

"Keira… I need..." His face was close to hers now. She can feel his warm breath against her soft lips. She began to notice the beating of her heart was abnormally louder.

"I need to tell you…" he continued to speak but she couldn't understand what he was saying. The loud beating of her heart was blocking out any sound he made. But she could see his lips moving. Why couldn't she hear him? Why is her heart beat so loud?

She only managed to catch his last words.

"Keira, I'm in love with someone else."

A rapid loud baning noise errupted Keira from her sleep. She looked around her little room, confused and dazed. For a split second, she didn't know where she was. But her memory quickly pieced itself back together. She's in her bedroom, well, the only real studio room in the back of her large mechanical garage.

She spent days cleaning it up and moving her stuff from the storage house to the shop. She hadn't had a good night's rest since then. The banging noise continued in rapid burst. She was more annoyed than frightened at this point and began to wonder who could it possibly be at the front door. It was too early in the month for the collector to ask for rent and she didn't know anyone who lived in Kras. At least not yet. And she could scratch out the possibility of any customers coming by, since she didn't advertise as being open for business. She wondered who could it be and who would show up this early before dawn?

Luckily for Keira, she was already wearing the clothes she wore the night before. She did, however, felt a little dirty. Her shirt was stained with oil and dirt, so was her little blue bandanna that shifted somewhat to the side on her head. She adjusted it the best she could as she walked out of her small studio.

Despite Keira's small yells that she's approaching the door, the rapid banging continuitied. As she came close to the door she realized that the vid com and the buzzer was broken. She sighed, realizing that it's yet another thing on her long never ending list of things to fix.

She opened the door shielding her tired eyes from the little light rising from over the buildings across the street. She nearly jumped when she heard the very loud greeter coming from the left of her.

"Wow, so this is you, huh?" the mysterious woman said.

Keira rubbed her eyes wondering if she was still dreaming. When she placed her hands down, her slightly blurry vision cleared up.

"So weird," the strange woman continued, "from everything I 've heard about you I thought you'd be… ya know... older."

The woman was about her height and looked about the same age, if not a few years older. She had pixie short hair that was dark pink with black roots. Her eyes were as wide as rare green aura jems, and her face was small but had enough roundness to her features that made her seem… adorable yet mature.

Keira was finally awake enough to say something, "I'm sorry, but can I help you?" she asked.

The young woman perked up even more than she already seemed to be. "I should be asking you that question!"

Keira couldn't help but feel even more confused. 'Is this some kind of crazy person?' She thought to herself. She knew where she set up shop wasn't in the best sector of the city. And considering everything she heard about Kras, that's saying a lot. But she didn't want to jump to conclusions. Afterall, the odd woman standing in front of her didn't look crazy. Although the many piercing in her ears, nose, and bottom lip could indicate otherwise.

She was wearing a tight leather jacket with matching worn leather shorts and boots. Even though her jacket was zipped up halfway, she noticed how large her… bust was. It wasn't distractingly large but well noticeable through her short coat.

"Listen," Keira began, "I'm not really sure who you-"

The woman quickly placed both her hands on Keira's shoulders, grinning like a small child who has seen something, or in this case, someone fassinating.

"But I know who you are!" She said with a squeal, "You're Keira from Haven city, aren't you?" She ask in gleeful smile.

"Um," Keira hesitated to answer. She thought for a second that if she told her no, maybe the strange woman will leave. But something in her gut told her to answer truthfully. At least for now.

"Yeah... I'm Keira. How did you know my name?"

"Any real mechanic knows who you are." She moved her hands from Keira's shoulders and pursed to walk past her into the garage. Keira did a double take, looking outside than looking back in her garage where the stranger just walked in. Things are now even more confusing and she's through playing this little guessing game.

"Hey!" Keira called out to the pinked haired stranger walking around her shop as if she was invited in. "Listen, I don't know who you are, but I'm going to have to ask you to leave!" Keira waved her hand at the door.

"Wow, this place doesn't look so hot." She said looking around, completely ignoring her, "I thought an all-star mechanic would have better looking shop than this."

Keira took in deep breathe, she was really getting aggravated now. "If you don't leave I'll…" she wanted to threaten her but even Keira knew she was never the threatening type. Hell, she didn't even look the part. She then thought maybe she would threaten her by calling law enforcement. That should do the trick.

But before Keira could utter another word, the pink haired ditz quickly spun around. Gently knocking her knuckles against her forehead.

"Oh right, sorry. I didn't introduce myself!" she said. She looked at Keira with smile that could brighten her dimly lighted garage. "The name's Alex!" She walked across the room and grabbed Keir's hand, shaking it.

"And I'm going to be your new assistant!" She said with a wink.

"Wait hold on…" Keria shook her head, "I didn't put out an ad for assistant and I haven't even really opened up the shop yet."

"Oh, I know," Alex looked around "By the looks of everything around here I could tell!"

She turned around placing her hand on her hips. "I'm glad I was able to find you! Word spreads around quick in Kras. A lot of mechanics from all over the world move here eventually. But I was really excited to know you'd be one of them!"

Keira reached back and closed the door. As much as she wanted the girl to leave, she did managed to grab her attention.

"Am I…" she didn't want to sound pretentious but she knew she had to ask, "...famous around here?"

Alex looked back and furrowed her brow, as if she was deep in thought. She touched her chin with index finger and stared at the ceiling. "Well, it depends what kind of 'famous' we're talking about here."

"You're certainly not a vid celebrity like Red Lisa or someone like Blitz" Her cheerful smile returned. "But to us geniuses, you might as well be!"

'Us geniuses?' Keira thought. Looking at the busty, dark pinked haired pixie girl, she wouldn't exactly peg her as a genius. Could she just be pulling her leg? Keira thought she should dig a little more.

"How did I even become famous? Even if to a small group like you said?" Keira crossed her arms "I'm not exactly some hero. I just fix cars and build things."

Alex scoffed, which surprised her. "Didn't think you'd be modest type. If I accomplished half the things you did back in Haven, I would've been bragging all about it!"

Without even asking, Alex went on. "You build some of the fastest most functional cruisers and zoomers in the world! Man, the way those babies moved in the circuit race was thing of beauty!"

"I had a chance to see one of your original models up close. My boyfriend was one of the racers who brought your Red Streak Zoomer to compete."

Keira remembered that model, it was originally a prototype for a zoomer she was building for Erol. "Your boyfriend was part of the circuit?" She asked.

"Yessirree!" she said proudly.

Keira smiled, "How did he do?"

"Oh, he died. But he came in third place right before someone blew him up!"

Keira gasped slightly, feeling quite a bit a shock. "I-I'm, so sorry to hear that!"

"Aw, don't worry about it. The guy was a real ass." She said in quite a nonchalant manner.

Keira wasn't sure she has ever met a woman quite like Alex before. Seeing her felt like meeting Tess all over again but not exactly the same. She doesn't seem quite as ditzy but she's certainly... out there.

Keria was convinced that this girl knew her stuff and it's a shock to her that anyone else knew who she was outside of Haven. That is if the new girl was telling the truth about her being famous in some sort of small niche of geniuses. Then she quickly remembered why this girl was here. She said something about being her assistant.

Keira had no intention of hiring anyone. When she worked she preferred to do it on her own, people just tend to get in the way of things.

"I appreciate that you're fan of my work," she began, "but I'm not looking to hire an assistant or anyone for that matter."

Alex placed her hand up in front of her, in a sort of 'stop' gesture. "I know what you're thinking!"

"You do?" Keira said slightly confused, not knowing what to expect from the strange girl.

"You think I'm a bit of an airhead, kind of fast talker and junk." She placed her hand down "But believe me, I'm good with cars. And I know this city inside and out! Lived here almost my whole life!"

The look in her eyes turned from sugary sweet to dead serious, "No one's going to help you here. There's a lot of rough competition in Kras and if you're not careful you can go under, fast!"

Keir puffed up her chest. She knew all about how 'tough' Kras can be before she moved. But she was confident in herself and her abilities that she could damn well survive on her own.

"Thanks for the warning" she said dryly, not being at all sincere, "but I don't need anyone's help. I can do fine on my own." Keira made her way to the door to guide Alex out.

Alex walked up to Keira but she had no plans on leaving. "A lot of people I met said the same thing before something really bad happened. In this city, I learned the best thing to have is someone to watch your back. That's more valuable than money."

She continued, "I've seen your work, Keira. You're better than any mechanic in this entire city. I knew it just from getting a look at your zoomer models! All I ask for in return is the chance to study your work up close. I want to be as good as you one day!"

She smiled again with that bright grin of hers, "And maybe a paycheck when some money comes through here, of course."

Keira thought about her words. They seemed genuine. She was alone here, she thought. No contacts, no friends… not even family. But she didn't know if she could trust a complete stranger she literally just met.

As if Alex could read her mind, she spoke again. "Tell ya what, give me a week so can get to know me better. I'll prove to you I know what I'm talking about and I'm not just another pretty face."

She extended her hand. "If it doesn't work out, I get out of your hair and you'll never hear from me again. Deal?"

Keira looked at her hand, her fingerless dark red gloves and brightly colored pink nails shimmered in the low light. She looked up at her face, her head slightly tilted to the side and smiling as bright as ever. Her big dark green eyes were soft and welcoming.

Keira looked back down at her hand as she patiently waited for her to shake it.

'What do I have to lose?'

A/N: Like I've mentioned earlier, it's been quite some time since I've written fan fiction. So I decided to keep this chapter particularly short. If they're mistakes, I'll probably get to them a lot sooner than later!
