July 22 1989
Neville was in the hospital. A muggle hospital. Though that wasn't new, his grandmother told him that they were in the muggle world to keep him safe as he was one of the chosen ones.
He touched the scar on his left cheek, the scar he displayed with pride. So what if muggles don't know about what it represents, it's his pride and joy. Though, his pain was immense as he couldn't really sit or stand.
He didn't understand why all the fuss was happening when Uncle Algie dropped him out the window, it was an accident! A lady entered the room, "Neville, I am Lillian Tryat, from the department of child protective services, I have some questions for you, dear." Was said as kindly as possible.
Neville nodded. "The neighbors say they saw someone throw you out the window, is that true?" He nodded, everyone knew now. "Does stuff like this happen often? The neighbors also say that same person tried to drown you." Neville slowly nodded, before falling into unconsciousness, Lillian was warned of. "You poor boy." She whispered.
At The Dursleys
Harry had long shaggy hair that his aunt and uncle made him keep to keep his ugly scar on his right cheek covered. Not that it mattered too much as he wasn't ever allowed outside in order to keep him safe.
"Harry, dear, can you set the table?" His aunt asked the fasting boy. "Yes, aunt Petunia." Harry sat the table. "How has your abnormalities been going with your fasting?" The Dursleys waited in anticipation, especially after Harry somehow ended up stuck to the ceiling. "I haven't had any act up. How long should I stick to the fast Miss?" "We must see as you still are human and need to eat. It's been four days, so let's add three days of water fasting and see how that does." "Yes, Miss." Harry was happy that his abnormalities didn't prevent his aunt and uncle from loving him.
The fact he had "magic" as the freaks called it was just an unfortunate part of him. And it got his parents killed! If they weren't magical, he'd never have been an orphan. "Knowing they were targeted and were too ashamed to hide in a muggle world and now you're a target boy." Uncle Vernon explained when Harry asked why he wasn't allowed to go to public school like Dudley.
And that stupid scar was never going to leave him. The mark of shame.
Dumbledore's Office
Dumbledore was losing his mind. Augusta and Algie Longbottom arrested for child abuse, and Neville hospitalized with severe injures! "What do I do?" He sighed pretending everything was under control as an owl entered his office with a letter from Ms. Figg.
He opened the letter, "Albus, I have watched Harry last week and he refused to eat anything saying his abnormalities may act up. After asking him what he was talking about, he said he somehow glued himself to the ceiling last week, and he needs to keep himself tired to keep safe.
This also plays in the fact he refused to sleep to the point of slapping himself to stay awake. He had a handprint on his cheek. The scar is enough of an injury for this boy. This "accident" he mentioned may be referring to magic. I am worried at this rate as we all know what happens to people who repress their magic.
Arabella Figg.
Dumbledore crumpled up the letter. Not only Longbottom, but Potter was also in danger. There were no more competent living relatives left to raise those two.
Doing the only thing he could think of, he wrote a letter back to Arabella Figg.
